It’s as good as any cable I’ve ever used, easy operation and does the job as well as any more expensive ones. I don’t treat it gently so it’s certainly strong enough.
I needed a charger that would get us by while we waited 2 months for our proper EV charger to be installed. We have two electric cars and this charger charged both pretty much every day for two months straight without any issues. I am now keeping this in my boot for emergencies as we have our proper EV charger installed.
One thing to note, there is the option to set it to 13A. I would avoid using this option and set it to the 10A setting to reduce risk of fire. Normal UK retail “granny” chargers are all limited to 10A max – for a reason.
This EV charging cable is pretty good, and I love the fact it comes with a handy carry bag for it, although the bag could do with some padding.
The long 6m (in total) cable is nice and sturdy so you don’t worry about it getting damaged over time and the connector on the car connection end has a strong and solid sheath to protect it from bending etc. While the joins into the transformer brick part aren’t as well protected that do still feel very solid and most import it’s all waterproof.
The main car connector has a protective cover that is attached to the cable, so you don’t lose it which is a nice feature. It comes with a zip closing carry bag with strong well stitched sturdy carry handles. This is perfect as the cable can be quite heavy to lift in and out of cars etc, but some of my other bags have been slightly padded which would really have been a good addition to this one as it has the big transformer part in there too.
It’s been charging my car for the last few days and its worked perfect from a regular 3 pin plug wall socket and I like the solid handle so when you are pulling it out from the car you don’t feel you might damage it. The fit in the car ends is perfect and snug with no wobble room just like it should be.
Overall, for 119.99 this is a good cable and if it had a padded bag I would have probably given it 5 stars, for now it needs a little discount or a better bag.
I was like you, searching for a charging cable that was long enough and didn’t cost the earth, well look no further. Had this cable for over 6 months now and I’m really pleased with it, it’s not complicated to use either, it’s had a few bashes along the way and it very durable, and I use it quite regularly too. No issues with this easy to use charging cable.
No issues with this product. The only thing I will say is do not plug it into an extension and expect it to work. Kept having this issue when I first used it before realizing my stupid error. After that, all good
Needed a charger to last me until my charger was installed and this one was the cheapest one that had a setting to adjust the power as I also didnt trust the wiring in my house. I picked the 8m one and unlike the other reviewer, I did actually get my 8m cable.
The charger charged the car as expected. I tried the 8 and 10 amp settings. At 10 amps the cables got ever so slightly warm to the touch after charging all day but otherwise everything seems to be working as expected. The plastic control box thing seems quite cheap but feels solid, I wouldn’t drop it against the floor or trust it after driving over it with a car as shown in the picture.
It seems slightly overpriced for what is essentially an adapter cable from 3 pin to type 2 for my car, but it did the job. Just seems a tad expensive. And I paid 150 for the 8m cable and it already seems to have gone up in price. But looking at the rest of amazon I guess this is competitively priced.

Well i can say that i am impressed with this charger because i can say its kind of better then my original one that come with the car.
The fact that you can change the settings to a lower or higher amp its a great thing,because you can set it as you want in special if you want no headache with the 13a set because its maximum and it can be tricky and melt your socket if there are any fluctuations in power,so with this charger you can set it to 6,8,10 for a peace of mind.This charger its good when you travel to someone’s house and they don’t have a proper ev charger.

Just got my car last week and awaiting the install of the home charger which is another 8 weeks away I knew I had to get something that would tie me over and also something I could use if visiting friends and family
Unfortunately I opted for a popular one that had the one centre button first go was ok but seemed to take ages then one the 2nd go it had changed its setting to 6v which was next to useless and no matter what I tried pressing the button it did nothing and was stuck on 6v and then looked at reviews to see others had the same problem that the button does nothing at all on most other makes
This one has a button that actually works and you can adjust it at any time
Why the 4 star not five star well I ordered the 8 metre version but received the 5 metre one but as they are the same price and I use a extension lead anyway for my outdoor plug it made little difference I would highly recommend this over all the others available on Amazon and as you can see I am a actual buyer not a person who got it free

I’ve had an electric car for a few months now. I’ve come to the conclusion that you can’t possibly ever have enough charging cables! I got the FNRIDS EV Charger Type 2 in 5m as a portable EV charging solution. It does come in two lengths but I only need 5 m.
It is an adjustable 6-13A switchable electric car charger with LED light and it charges my electric vehicle perfectly. It comes in a carry case with the charger cable that has the relevant plugs at each end. One for the car and one for the wall socket. The charging unit is solid and compact. The cable is also good quality and it just plugs into the socket in the house or garage.
It’s great to keep in the car so I have a charger cable no matter where I am. The cable is long enough for me to charge my car easily and without a lot of fuss and the carry bag is great.
Over all good quality and great price.
I recently had an issue where my home charger broke. Obviously I only discovered this when I needed to charge and I was panicking.
I got the included tesla 3 pin charger and put it on and was going to leave it overnight. I decided to double check this was safe and I found a lot of information telling me this was a bad idea. As it runs at 13a, and the plugs are rated for 13a, any power spikes or fluctuations could cause the plugs to melt or fuses to go. For me this is a little close for comfort to leave it running for 12-24 hours (which is what my Model Y needs to get any kind of range).
This unit however allows you to scale it down and go for 5a, 8a, 10a or 13a. This is great because you can set it to 10a and give yourself some headroom and not panic. I would rather wait a few more hours than risk damaging the cable or the internal plug, or worse start a fire!
The build quality is great, it works perfectly and it comes with a nice small carry case to ensure it stays on good condition. I am very pleased with this and will use this instead of the tesla unit any day!
