This game is absolutely brilliant, best played with the people you think you know best over a couple of hours. Take your time and speculate as to who
is the traitor when you have a break, it’s great fun!
Firstly I’d say that this game needs someone to act as “Claudia”……that in itself is a fun role to play and like the TV show, this is very entertaining. The instructions are a little on the complex side and you need to read them through a few times carefully to make sure you get each phase of each round right but don’t let that put you off as this game will make you laugh a lot…..the more players the better and be prepared to run around your house screaming like a bunch of crazy people.
The only slightly disappointing element is once you’ve played this game 6 times, you’ll not be able to play again as you’ll know what’s going on as you progress through the rounds…..hopefully they will release new mission cards to add to it at a later date.
Played this a few times and we all enjoy it! Have a real laugh – our kids from age 12 uowards and adults into their 70s. Quite complicated but if youdelegate the instructions to someone either intelligent or sober in the group, it’s fine! Pleasantly surprised with how much fun we have had with this!
Very good purchase – we have used this at a games night with friends. Easy to play and good if you don’t want a game that drags on and on.
Played Mafia before, so familiar with the concept and can’t get enough of the tv show from UK, US, and Australia. Awesome show just wish the party game had the capacity for more players.
Bought it for a present for my daughter, as she loves the program. Had a family games night and it took a while to get into it. We need a few goes to get going, for me anyway.
We enjoyed watching the TV program and thought to purchase the game, although some elements of the game keep your interest going for a while, it’s not the type of game you can easily learn especially if someone’s never watched the program, but also the instructions are somewhat confusing. Could have been much better.
We played this game with the minimum number of people (4) but think it would be better with the maximum number (6 or 8?). It’s good fun and not difficult to play, but there are lots of different steps and sections, so you need to read through the instructions as you play for the first couple of games. I also recommend reading through before you are ready to set up and play as there are a few things you need to have to hand to get the full experience, such as a timer/stopwatch and having music available to mask the sound of the traitor! good fun though and well-made board etc.
I bought this for my brother for Christmas. We played it a few days after. I haven’t watched the traitors so at first found it complicated to understand, once we got the hang of it it was really good fun and a lot of laughs!
The only down side is the fact it only has 6 missions so once you’ve done it there’s not much that can be done.
We love this game. Having just watched the first season of Traitors (we were quite late to the party) this is a brilliant way to continue the fun of the show. I’m sure we will be sad when the missions have run out, it’s probably worth mentioning that you can only really play this game a limited number of times (six times), as it relies on the players being new to the tasks provided. Each game lasts probably about an hour, which I think is a good length for a Sunday afternoon. The game says it’s from 12 years and up, but my ten year old loved it (and fooled us all…).
I really enjoyed the TV show traitors and was intrigued how this would be carried over into a board game. There are some similarities, for example there are 6 adventures and lots of second guessing your fellow players (family and friends), however that is about where the link to the TV show ends. You need a minimum of 4 players. The more players you have, the better the game becomes. Each game tends to last about an hour. The game itself is a good design and well made.
With 6 adventures (and I hope more on the way) this can keep you busy for a while. It’s will take about an hour or so each time and it’s designed to keep everyone playing for as long as possible. So not quite as cut throat as the show.
It’s well designed to really keep you guessing and I’d say almost deliberately mislead. The changes are needed as it’s a family friendly board game. To start with. Not by the end
The dynamic of the game lived up to the suspense and tension one might expect from the TV show it’s inspired by. It integrated elements of strategy and bluffing, compelling enough to keep everyone invested until the very end. Gameplay felt smooth; no complex rules to hold up the action. It’s a hit for group gatherings where the aim is not just to win, but to outwit.
Firstly, the board game is well made and seems durable.
The game itself doesn’t really pan out like the TV show, there are some connections, but I think this could have been better designed to create a stronger link.
It’s not that complex once you’ve played it once or twice and it’s easy for all ages to follow (12+)
You do need to have a minimum of 4 players, but its more fun the more players you have. So, ideal for a games night!
This is an interesting concept, but think that the manufacturer has just tried to market this as the “traitors” board game rather than actually create a game truly reflective of the show.
In our family we all watched the Traitors TV show and really enjoyed it, so a board game based on that is something we have been very excited about. We have not actually played it as a family yetwe are saving it for Christmas, but I have checked the game out and read it through. There are lots of partsyou get 5 different types of cards, you get gold pieces and gold bars, stands for the cards and you get 6 blindfolds. The pack says it’s suitable for age 12 up, but I think not all 12 year olds would get the game. It’s a shame also that there have to be between 4 and 6 players, as this somewhat limits the number of occasions it is suitable for. All parts are of good manufacturing quality, a nice design, and presented well.
So yes, I’d never heard of the TV show, so had to find it and see – and it’s decent! So to the game, which is made nicely, everything good quality production. Nice simple concept with a lot of player involvement to ensure people aren’t left out of extended periods of time. Only played once, as it takes a while, maybe an hour or so, I guess it depends how fast people are and how many bathroom / drink / snack breaks there are! I can see this being a regular with friends, especially when the winter months come. It’s good fun. I recommend it.
Me and my teenage kids loved playing this game. At 1st it took me a while to figure out how to play the game properly but the instructions were clear enough and easy to follow. The game lasted just over an hour for 4 of us and it was quite funny to play also. There are 6 different sets you can play so you can get a few good games out of it at least. I think it makes a great family game and it’s fun to play too.
This game differs slightly from the show but does a good job of ensuring all players take part equally and nobody is left waiting around for too long.
After reading and trying to understand the rules and instructions each round can take an hour to 90 minutes to complete – though I could see things taking less time for experienced players and longer for larger groups.
Each adventure should provide ample replayability and makes for a good family or friends night in!
Each player assumes a role as either a loyal member of the team or a cunning traitor, and the objective is to accomplish missions while trying to identify and eliminate the traitors among you. The tension builds as players question each other’s loyalty and make critical decisions about whom to trust.
The inclusion of secret missions and hidden objectives adds an extra layer of depth, ensuring that no two games are ever the same.
A fantastic choice for game nights with friends and family, offering endless hours of excitement, strategy, and suspense. Just be prepared for some intense moments and unexpected betrayals as you navigate the world of Traitors!
This game is really good quality. The official Traitors game. You can play with a number of people and work together to get gold. At the end you can either share or steal but were you the only traitor? or is your “faithful” husband actually a traitor….. good fun for all the family. Easy to set up and follow.
Really looking forward to playing this with friends. It does take a while to understand and setup on first go (as with any new game) . We love the concept and the smartphone interactions.
We have only played the 1st adventure so far. Played as a team of 5 and had much hilarity in the missions. There are six adventures but you can see that they could be played over again. I’m hoping they make expansion packs in the future as well with extra adventures. Loved the card game also.
The game differs slightly from the show to ensure everyone is involved for as long as possible. It has several different adventures with missions and armoury challenges (six decks, so six separate rounds of the game can be played), and makes for a good hour or so per game! It’s hard to stop playing and you find yourself running out of separate adventure decks, which is the only downside, so hopefully there’s expansions soon! It’s just a great opportunity to argue with the family and realise you were wrong about who the traitor was the entire time! Great fun!
