This is a great game. You’ll need the app and a Spotify account but once set up it is really easy to play. One of the Rae games you can play on your own or with family and friends. Even played it in the office. Very addictive

At time of review this is priced at 22.99 which is pretty reasonable and standard for this type of game. No complaints there.

The components inside are well made. Cards are good card stock and don’t fee likely to tare or rip easily.

It’s targeted at 16 up, meant to take 30 minutes and is for 2-10 players.

I think the more players the better for something like this. It’s certainly playable for 2 players. Just better with more. This was one of my cons.

I agree with the play time statement (once you know the rules)

You do need an app to play this game. It will not play without a smart device (the 2nd of the reasons I took a star off as not self contained)

The app lets you scan codes which will play clips of songs. Then you try and answer the question.

For music fans this is a lot of fun and like playing name that tune at home.

Size wise, it’s not very big and you could take it camping or caravanning (providing you get a signal to play)

    Happy to recommend.

Had a blast. Took it to a games night with friends. Played it about 3/4 times. You have to scan a qr code that connects to Spotify. It plays a song and you guess the year basically and put it in a timeline. First to 10 wins.

Good value for money and will be getting this bad boy out again!

My family and I really enjoyed playing this board game as we love popular music. The questions are at just the right level so everyone has a chance to win.

    Recommended.

This sat in a box for a couple of weeks before we decided to break it open and see how it all worked – none of us were really excited to start playing the game at first but that all changed rather rapidly as the night descended into a belter of singing old classics and trying to guess the year they were released cries of “one year out” were soon heard and forefeit of having to down a shot when such a crime was punished !

This is fairly easy to setup using the app and spotify – although the update and figuring out how it all worked did take some time I can assure any potential purchasers that the preparation time is time well spent and you will not regret getting some good friends round to give this a go.

In a couple of weeks we’re hosting a halloween party and people are already asking if we can play this game again on that night so it’s a real hit!

This is such a cool game.

Our whole family loves music and singing and this game caters to all of this.

It comes with 300 international hits – if I can make a wish, make it a German Version. I would straight away buy it 10x as I have so many German friends who love to sing their national hits.

It is easy to learn and small enough for travelling.

I can see this going out as gifts this christmas multiple times.

    It is very giftable.

We are very happy with this game and gladly recommend it to anyone who loves music.

Found myself hosting an evening with friends who share a musical inclination. What unfolded can only be described as a symphony of laughter, nostalgia, and the sort of camaraderie that I’ve come to miss. Testing your musical knowledge against a backdrop of varied decades and genres proved invigorating. The token system lent an extra layer of strategy that kept everyone engaged. Scanning QR codes to play tracks was incredibly smooth, too. A cautionary note: Updating the app does enhance the experience, so don’t skip that step.

This is a very clever idea and it’s well executed. Though it relies heavily on modern technology and the assumption you’ll have a bit of savvy in that regard it works really well and doesn’t feel clunky.
The game itself is easy enough to learn and play and is really good fun, who doesn’t like a music quiz.
I like that fact it’s not just based on music from 20 minutes ago so does work for different generations playing.

Diving into this party game brought forth waves of nostalgia, especially with the melodic tunes echoing through the room. A seemingly simple concept, yet the myriad of melodies spanning over decades made evenings with friends remarkably memorable. Using the QR codes made diving into a tune instantaneous, though having a Spotify Premium account certainly elevated the experience. Not every gathering will resonate with this experience; it does hinge on a shared appreciation for a myriad of tunes. But in the right company, it evokes hearty laughter and bouts of singing. The blend of challenge and camaraderie made for many hours of spirited competition.

Great for music lovers of all genres.
Can play with up to ten players.
    Comes with over 300 cards.
Is an interactive game, which also features a QR code that you play off Spotify.
You build up your music time line by guessing what year the song was released and placing it on that year.
First to have ten cards wins.
Great for games nights for the family.
You need to know who to use apps on your phone for this to work properly as a game.
Happy with the overall quality of this game.

This is a pretty fun game for music lovers. It takes some initial setting up so it’s not really one you should leave boxed until you intend to use it. I’d recommend getting the app and Spotify connection setup and working before you intend to play. The app is easy to install. It works best with Spotify premium and that’s really the ideal way to play. It will work without premium but it’s not as seamless. To play you basically scan the QR code on the cards which will play the music and you have to guess when it was released. Those not really into music probably won’t have much fun but if you all as a group enjoy this kind of thing then it can be good fun.

A really good fun game for any adult party or social event. It gets the fun going using over 300 well known musical hits from the last 100 years. You add the Hitser tokens to move the game forward and keep everyone involved. You just choose a music card – scan the QR code with the Hitster app and let the music do the rest. The game allows for multiple game play options, competition, teamwork cooperation or solo challenges. A really great party game.

Music games are often amongst the most popular at parties or for groups at a pub. This one has the advantage not just of asking questions but playing the music as well provided you have a certain amount of tech knowledge. Firstly you need to download the Hitster App which is very quick and easy (this provides the QR scanning for each card) and secondly have a subscription to Spotify which can either be a free version with limited features or premium at cost (a cynic might suggest this is the real aim of the manufacturers). Still you are getting the original recordings and not some kind of generic version.
The main aim of the game funnily enough is not to identify titles and artists, but the year the recording was released. The winner of a game will have correctly guessed the chronological sequence of 10 songs. You can play at different levels so that more or less information has to be given to win the cards. What I would say is that it is good to be sure everyone playing knows the rules before you start which are a bit hard to grasp initially and the game is better with more players. The music goes right back to post war stuff and as late as 2022 so there is something for everyone. Most people will find their strengths in their own favourite decades so it is a good game to play across the generations. Just over three hundred cards are included in the box which is a fair amount although it does create a limit on how many times the same people can play it. Nonetheless this is good fun once you get the hang of the rules and the tech involved.

Jumbo Hitster: The Ultimate Party Board Game for Adults can be a genuinely fun and pretty exciting game for game nights – though it is one of those games that pretty much demand willing and active participants, as there is the mobile app that’s essentially required for the game (plus Spotify!).

On top of that, everything works ideal if Spotify premium is used (else an allotted music player is chosen) – so there’s quite a bit of prerequisite setup required for the ideal setup and play experience.

Fortunately, once you’re actually in game (and in app!) things are actually very fun and work quite seamlessly (assuming ideal setup situations) but due to the tech required for ideal play, it does rule out pretty much anyone who’s not tech savvy.
