Had a problem with my 1st drone and got onto a chat with holystone and they sent a new one out the next day which arrived at 7-45 am and to which I thought was excellent service
Super strong but lightweight and compact carry case. Easy to set up – beginner mode really useful. Great tuition videos linked to flying app so we picked up the basics pretty quickly and easily. Had fun with our first flight and can imagine getting amazing video footage as our skills progress.
Just had this for a wee test flight. Brilliant and great fun. Video and picture quality was surprisingly amazing. It was very windy today but I’ll upload a video when there’s better weather. Highly recommend
This drone is the best fun & superb quality. I’ve never operated a drone before but I was up & running in only a few minutes & the results are amazing, even for a novice.
Holystone HS360S Excellent little drone, easy to follow instructions for set up and flight. GPS and return to home, work really well. Packed full of features, most I haven’t tried yet. Picture and video quality is excellent. Very pleased and would recommend to anyone looking for a decent drone on a budget.
First of all I am new to drones, apart from buying a couple of nano drones which are toys really. This item is far from a toy though, because the weather has been so bad recently, I have only been able to try it once, in the meantime I have been studying the excellent user manual, it is somewhat unusual to find a manual that is so comprehensive and easy to follow, every credit to Holystone. I did encounter a problem when first setting th app, where it kept reverting back to the home screen. No problem, got touch with Holystone through WhatsApp and was surprised to find that they could not be more helpful, had various fixings that they suggested, but it turned out that it was the phone was at fault. Can not praise Holystone enough.
Will post videos when and if the weather improves
I searched around for ages trying to find a done with GPS for stability, and peace of mind in being able to bring it back to me without losing it on a windy day. I wanted a DJI, but they are incredibly expensive and in the end I decided on the HS360S.
What a fantastic little machine. It has all of the features of the more expensive drones, and is really good quality. It comes with a custom carry case and is portable enough to just throw in the car or your bag, ready to capture the moment or just have a little bit of fun. Absolutely no regrets at all with my purchase!
This drone is great value for the money. The flight capability is excellent for 145. I was more interested in how it could fly rather than film.
So I knew without a gimbal the footage wouldn’t be brilliant but it was better than i thought it would be.
The flight modes are brilliant.
Case has a quality feel.
Only disappointment is one battery. Because flight time is only 20mins you need a second battery.
Great little drone with plenty of features, good camera and nice controller. No collision detection features, but in a drone costing under 200 (depending on the discounts/vouchers), this isn’t a problem. Flight time is up to 20 mins per battery, so you’ll probably want to get a second one to add to the single battery included. Included case is great, and all the packaging and instructions are really good quality and easy to understand.
This is a really great drone. We’ve had a couple for my 10 year old and started with a cheaper one to ensure it would get use. It did so we bought the HS360s.
I’m so glad we did, it’s actually much easier to fly than the cheaper versions, it has great features like auto hover, and return to the start point, you can also set it to follow a route by drawing the route with your finger on the map on your phone.
It’s also really steady in wind, which again cheaper ones are not. Oh and the camera quality and functionality is superb.
I fully recommend this drone, and really feels like top in the range of drones you can fly without the licences.
Thought I would give the drone hobby a try my mobility isn’t what it used to be and needed something that I could take an interest in. So thought I’d give the drone hobby a try . After hours of searching the Internet watching videos and reading reviews I chose the hs360s. My wife bought it me for Christmas. The drone and controller have a nice well built feel to them. I couldn’t wait to try it out but I held back and read the instructions which are clear and easy to follow. Also searched up online and watched videos to familiarise myself with the drone. Found it really easy to fly as you have many features to help you control its flight one of them the return to home button where if you panic or something goes wrong at the press of a button the drone will return to where it took off . I’ve flown this drone quite a few times now and finding out easier at every outing. The hs360s is full of features you find in drones 3 or 4 times the price . The only fault if you can call it that is the video feed which because it has no gimble can be a bit jumpy but may improve has my piloting gets better but not to bad the photos are realy good though . I now find myself looking out of the window at the treetops checking the wind hoping to get out flying lol .
For under200 it’s got a lot going for it. Easy to control with plenty of flight modes that are easy to use from a connected smartphone. The’fly home’ gps feature is excellent.
The 4k camera quality is ok, but not as good as I’d expected.
Camera has no gimbal so video while manoeuvering is pretty shaky.
Battery only lasts about 10 mins. I’ve bought a second battery for 50.
But hey, it’s a cheap product rather than a premium one, so all in all it’s good value
Looked at a lot of different drones in this price range to choose my first ‘proper’ drone and chose Holy Stone because of the positive reviews on the web. Really impressed with the build quality and the spec of the camera for this price. Everything packed into one quality carry-case is an added bonus and the ‘quick-start’ guide is easy to follow. Up and running in no time and looking forward to learning more ofthe tricks from the built-in features in the flying software. Would definitely recommend this model to other potential buyers.
I bought the Holy Stone HS360S GPS Drone with 4K Camera as a gift for myself and I’m so glad I did. This drone is amazing! It has a high-quality camera that captures stunning videos and photos, and a GPS system that makes it easy to fly and return home. I’m a new drone user and I had never flown before, but I found my first couple of flights to be easy and fun. The drone is very responsive and stable, and the app is user-friendly and intuitive. I love the features like follow me, orbit, gesture control, and waypoint mode. The battery life is also decent, and the drone comes with a carrying case and extra propellers. I highly recommend this drone to anyone who wants to have a great flying experience.
This is an amazing Drone and I totally love it.
I have both Flyer ID and Operator ID and this has to be the best I have owned, and I’ve owned a few.
I took it out for the first time today, due to weather and even though the wind was blowing up to 15mph (Bft 4), it was fairly stable and even though the excellent camera doesn’t have a gimbal, you can see from my brief video, it was fairly stable from my high altitude perspective.
It was very easy to connect the Drone to the Controller and then to my iPhone with the downloaded app.
One button press for auto take off/land. I also used a couple of pre programmed modes and the “Follow Me” works perfectly. I did create a video but probably too long for here. I also used the “Return Home” feature and that was great. It didn’t actually land on my landing mat but it was only within a foot or two.
As this amazing Drone is only 249g, it doesn’t need a CAA Approval Certificate or Flyer ID but as it has a camera, you would need an Operator ID from the CAA (in UK) to fly this.
I highly recommend this Drone. Next stop, the Beach 🙂
I bought hs360s off Amazon flew perfect first time I flew it, I put it away went to fly it again and would not find satellite or recalibrate I contacted holystone who tried talking me through a few options, that couldn’t resolve it so the offered to send me a replacement free off charge thank you holystone amazing and I will definitely be getting an upgrade in the future
WOW….. I really mean WOW
IF YOU WANT A GREAT DRONE
THEN I SUGGEST YOU GET HOLY STONE
Ii am new to drones. After buying some cheap and useless Chinese made ones (1 refused to work another worked but would not connect to my phone…so no cameras worked) I splashed out on (for me expensive ,200) a Holy stone H360S…
Best money I have ever spent. Have only been using a few days so far but with the ability to have it on beginner (making flying more forgiving) all is going well so far.
The instruction manual is great , it’s a proper manual that explains every step thoroughly and understably. (The Chinese idea of an instruction manual is 2 small bits of paper with writing so small you need a magnifying glass to read them with very little in the way of instructions)
The drone is very steady in flight and can survive quite a bump (or in my case the odd crash or two)
So yes this DEFINITELY gets 5 stars
Having brought this product a few months ago, i’ve taken it across the country to capture arial shots of myself and the landscape around me- its very portable and easy to set up and very easy to use. Would recommend for anyone new to the drone world as a great introduction.
I’ve always been into radio control aircraft/helicopters, but never into drones. But I bought this for my son (12) for use under my supervision and I have to say it is superb! It is very stable and easy to fly, to the extent that I do not have to help him fly it at all (it flies itself, it’s so easy)…. Unlike the ‘toy’ one he had before with no stabilisation – it needed someone with RC helicopter control experience to fly it.
The range is good and he’s having tremendous fun with it. The camera, whilst maybe not up to today’s professional standard takes decent photos for casual use, especially if using onboard TF card.
Lower cost than DJI products, although I’ve not been able to compare it to one of these, for a beginner this is superb.
Recommended.
Very stable in hover and easy to learn. With the app you can fly this thing with commands alone! I have a non 5G iPhone 11 and it connected via the app first time. Ensure it’s calibrated properly at every use and you’re good to go. Also the app defaults to beginner mode, which limits your altitude. Once confident in flying it, make sure you take it off beginner mode in the app, and save the changes and off you go. I only wish the follow me function could track at greater speeds to follow me on a motorcycle. But for the money it’s very impressive, good quality photos and videos saved straight to your phone.
I purchased this in the Amazon prime sale as I was looking for a drone that had GPS and was in my price range. As a novice to drone flying, I have found this so easy to use. The photo quality is good as is the video.
For someone who is a beginner to drone flying, I would recommend this drone.
Got to admit, after using big drones from the likes of DJI etc for many years I was sceptical of how a small drone like this would perform. To say I was surprised was an understatement, the drone itself is small compact and folds neatly into its carry case along with its controller, the controller has a nice clear display of telemetry and status, the controller also operates on the 5ghz band which reduces interference. GPS keeps the drone on the right track and it’s failsafe features work flawlessly if the worst should happen to bring the drone safely back to you and land itself. Camera footage is clear and has a gimble control built into the main controller. All in all its a great little drone.
A while ago I decided to build a racing drone. I wanted something really fast. mmmm. It certainly was that, and some! The problem was, it was way beyond my ability to fly safely. I now have an expensive paperweight. The other week my brother in law demonstrated his DJI Mini to me. I was amazed at how controllable it was. Technology has certainly moved on. The problem is, the DJI is mega money for me. I decided to see what was around and as usual and like many others i’m sure, I read reviews and watched endless YT videos. I came across the Holystone HS360s. This drone seemed to have 80% of the DJI’s ability at a fraction of the cost. Reviews have been very favourable. I decided to go for it and purchased one. I must say I am not disappointed. Its so easy to manage and pilot. It has more features than I will ever need and to be honest, at the moment it is still on beginners mode until I get more familiar with it. Video and pictures are fine. I flew it in windy conditions the other day just to test it out. It was still very stable and the return home function still landed it within 50cm of the take-off point. Highly recommended. BTW, this supersedes the HS360 (no ‘s’). This one is a major upgrade I understand.
I purchased this drone as a second drone, but it has rapidly become first choice. It’s great, the camera is excellent and offers great flexibility, it has great features and is so easy to use. Personally I prefer the controls on screen, obviously using the sticks once the drone is in flight. The on screen take off & landing buttons and return to home are much easier in my opinion, although the facility to use the remote is there too. The bonus I have found with this drone as opposed to my previous is that the mobile phone is actually connected by physical cable as opposed to wifi. I always had a fear that I’d lose contact with the drone using wifi, that fear has been removed. It seems very easy to fly, although I’d perhaps not recommend this has a first drone, Holy Stone do a great range so there’s plenty to choose from.
The drone seems to be well made and is quite robust (although flying it into the apple tree wasn’t the best move, it did survive!). It comes complete protective case, and everything seems to be well cushioned.
The only downside to this drone package is the battery life, 20 minutes flying time at a push and then you have to charge for a couple of hours; although this battery can be charged independently of the drone, an improvement on my other machines. It’d be nice if this came with 2 batteries like some of the other Holy Stone drones.
Would I recommend this drone? Yes!
Bought this drone to compliment our adventures in our campervan on our Youtube channel, and so glad that i did, it is way better than expected. I have seen a lot of videos and heard a lot about Holystone drones been very good value with fantastic customer service, so really Holystone was always top of my list as abrand for a drone. This is my first drone and i am still going through a learning curve with it, but it is getting easier everytime i fly it. Only two negatives for me at them moment, number one, only one battery and number 2 no gimbal, so videos are a bit shakey, but really as it is my first drone and i can up with that until i become more experienced. I would like to try the HS720R as that has a gimbal on it, so if i changed this drone it would be for that one. All in all very happy with it and Holystone as a company.
This is my first venture into a proper drone.
I have had a couple of cheaper drones, one with a camera and one without, but struggled to fly them.
This one was relatively simple to set up and fly, no complicated calibration routines, just a simple rotation sequence both horizontal and vertical, similar to the way you calibrate the compass in you phone.
I found the flight time was more than adequate for a beginner, in fact I have not yet depleted the battery, though I have had it set to slow speed, something I would recommend to anyone starting out.
I am still getting to grips with the controls, but much easier to use than the other cheaper drones I have had.
What not 5/5 you might ask ?
Frankly I would rarely give anything a 100% feedback, and with my limited experience flying drones I have no real reference, but this has impressed me and inspired me where the other drones I have had did not.
So I debated for a while as to which drone to buy. I’m new to all of this and didn’t want to spend to much on a first drone. I kept getting drawn back to this hs360s and decided after a while to take the plunge! It arrived the next day after ordering it and I was keen to get started. I had read the set up was tricky but to be honest it was very straight forward and easy to follow. So far so good. The drone seems well built although I don’t have previous drones to compare it too. It also came with spare propellers which I didn’t expect. Then I tried to connect my iPhone 14 pro max. I thought it had connected and sent my drone up. No image on my phone! Yet the drone was flying well and very stable in a slight wind. The return home worked well but I was struggling with my phone. I tried my sons phone and it connected straight away hence the photo. After a few more test flights using my sons phone it was quite easy to get to grips with the drone and I have to say although the image is quite dark(it was late evening) the quality seems good. So back to my phone. Getting frustrated now as still no image. I contacted customer service and they were exceptionally quick to respond and tried everything for me but to no avail. Now this is where I feel a bit daft. I decided to look at my phones charger socketit was full of dust and muck!!!! Once cleaned out hey presto connection straight away. By now though it was to dark to fly!
Overall impressions a good little compact drone that seems well built. Image quality seems good and for the price I’m happy with what I have got. Also comes with a camera protector and a handy case. Looking forward to a bit more air time tomorrow. I will update the post if anything changes but for me this is a great drone for the price.
This was my first drone and in every aspect, the perfect choice! It’s the perfect weight where it’s heavy enough to fly, even in windy conditions. The controller is soooo easy to use and so intuitive.
Downloading the app to link with the drone for the camera was such a breeze too.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who is starting out and buying their first drone. It has an affordable AND value for money starting price point and a great way to invest into a new hobby, I love mine!!!
I also need to add that if for any reason you have to contact HolyStone customer services, do not hesitate, as their customer service is second to none. This is a company who have definitely built their reputation on three key factors, the product, the customer and the price. Well done HolyStone, I shall 100% deffo be coming back to you when I am ready to upgrade. Thank you for unlimited fun!!
First impressions: The HS360S is clearly a quality product, well designed and built, supplied in a fitted case, with a good instruction book.
I was able to get it set up, calibrated and airborne without any problems.
The remote control and app are easy to use, and the flight appears to be stable. I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try all the higher level control functions, but the return-home and ‘catapult’ work as they should.
Video and still photos look good on a phone, but the jpg images are somewhat lacking in detail when viewed on a larger screen.
A good beginner’s drone at a very reasonable price!
Holy stone hs360s drone . Very well protected in the packaging. Open the box to find a well secure zipped carry case . Unzip the case to find all you need, the main neatly folded drone , the hand controller, a quick start guide , main drone battery, main instruction book and all the cables you will need . After a quick charge of the controller and drone battery not forgetting this gives time for you to read instructions how to fly the drone . Download the app connect it all up and then the fun can begin O not forgetting to insert the micro SD card in the side of the drone . Very easy setup of the drone GPS then up we go . You can use the app to control the drone with easy to use on screen buttons and controller. So easy to get great results of both video and or photos. Brilliant drone well done Holy stone love it . It will be of great use at a family wedding next week .
The drone arrived really quickly and well packaged. After some initial teething issues with the battery (wouldn’t charge but was replaced within 48 hours of contacting them), the drone seems to work really well. Some connection issues between the drone and the remote at times with it disconnecting, but will keep an eye on that.
Excited to take it our for its first full flight so we can see exactly what it can do and double check the quality of the video capture. Too many of the drones out there say they are 4K, but only record in 1080p so this was a great find and a reasonable price. Will update the review once we have used it more, but so far, very happy, particularly with the customer service side of things.
When you get this drone you will be asked to submit a review which I did and they will send you a spare battery. Don’t bother its BS and they will try to fob you of with the battery are out of stock and offer you a toy drone or if you can wait then they will send you a battery.
Still waiting 6 months on despite sending emails to Holy Stone.
The H720 is a very well built folding drone. Plus the Holy Stone H720 drone comes with a case saving me 40. Much better value for money.
Drones I have had cannot be flown very high because a slight breeze will blow them off course, the H720 is heavier (well built) than my other drones I have had and do not suffer from this problem plus the GPS keeps it on track.
You will need a drone license but very easy to do online only cost 9 for I think 3 years.
Its very easy to start and once linked to the Ophelia app you can see the view from the camera and operates seamlessly.
The one touch take off and land is awesome it hovers at about 4,5 foot then stays exactly where it is. I used the return home function and that surprised me, pressed the button in the garden and it took off into the air to 49 feet then came into land, I read the instruction (should of done that first) that is what it should do to avoid houses and trees returning home.
The weather has not been that good to try out all the features but I have used it from full charge for about 15 minutes only went down 1 LED. 20 minutes plus battery life this is a big selling point and longer lasting brushless motors.
The charger has 2 ports and charges two battery one at a time you can leave on over night and both are charged.
The flight is great very responsive and a lot of fun to fly.
Camera is adjustable up and down in flight and the 4k images is brilliant.
I have used the follow me mode which works great and the point plotting is really nice.
All in amazing value for money and would highly recommend.
The Ophelia app very good it has your flight log and the camera setting to change from 2k to 4k imaging. Stores the links to both photos and videos that you can download.
Love this drone so much fu
Having purchased a drone last year in this ‘price bracket’ and been disappointed with its performance I was somewhat reluctant to purchase a 2nd drone. But after my wife enquired what I wanted for my birthday I said a drone.
From the moment I unboxed it and saw the included case (which is often an extra with other drones) I realised it was a quality product. The feel of the drone and the way the props unfold ‘said’ it was of a high build quality. After charging the battery and reading the instructions, I was keen for its maiden flight but also very apprehensive as the local weather was a little windy — so I delayed things. Next day there was still some breeze but I was keen to fly it so walked to my local park.
It takes just a few minutes to pair to the remote and the phone app and set it up to connect to GPS — it picked up 16 satellites very quickly. Whilst recommendation say not to use drones in windy conditions, I need not have worried – using the one key take off button it lifted and held its position perfectly just above my head in the breezy conditions. For the next 20 minutes or so I put it through its paces with a smile on my face — it performed perfectly. By downloading local maps before I left home I was able to try out the follow me mode and was very impressed as it followed me around the field just 20′ above and behind me.
The green battery level indicator lights at the rear and the red and green led lights underneath make it very easy to always know which is front and rear, and there are also ‘landing lights’ underneath which can be switched on, so it is very easy to fly even for beginners. I soon became confident enough to use the high speed and was very impressed with its speed and the way it held its line from one end of the football pitch to the other.
I have flown it virtually every day for the last week and also fly it in my back garden — this was something I was not keen to do with the previous drone as I have quite few trees and obstacles to avoid and was not always confident the drone would avoid them.
The return to home feature is great, when activated the drone gains height to avoid obstacles etc. and then flies to above the take off point and slowly descends adjusting itself slightly to touch down within inches of where it took off.
The battery level indicator lights still showed there was plenty of power left, so am confident that the stated 25 min flight time is easy to achieve.
The transmitter/remote is easy to use and uncluttered with a nice fold out section to attach your phone, and buttons clearly marked with their functions. Customer support is 1st class – I misunderstood some of the details in the instruction book (because I was speed reading) and after emailing support got a response in hours.
I have included some photos that also show the remote that indicates the height and distance and battery information — very useful to know
The quality of the photos which are now 4K with this new model are in fantastic detail and the videos are very good as well — this model also has a zoom.
Holystone HS 720 drone review
The drone is well packaged and comes in a fairly substantial carrying case which is a nice touch. Inside the case was the drone, controller and a box with the charger and some spare propellers. A folder with operating instructions was in the lid of the case.
First impressions of the drone were very good. It is a really nice looking drone and felt heavier and more solid than I was expecting. The folding arms work smoothly and solidly locate into place.
The instructions in the book were easy to follow, so setting up the drone to fly it was no problem. The controller feels well put together and there is a holder for a phone for FPV and video/pictures etc. via an app. The controller also provides information such as signal strength, battery power, altitude, distance etc.
Once I’d downloaded the app using a scan of a barcode in the book, I was ready to fly. The drone was very easy to pair with the controller and calibrating for GPS etc was simple. Pushing a couple of buttons automatically starts the rotors and raises the drone approx. 5 feet from the ground. Very simple again. The GPS on the drone worked brilliantly and held it quite stable.
Controlling the drone during the flight wasn’t difficult, even for a beginner like myself. It easily went up over 200 feet and was still very responsive and still held steady when hovering. I’ve taken videos and pictures using both the WiFi signal to my phone and the micro SD card (not included). Pictures were good, but the camera is not 4K. Obviously, this is reflected in the price. The equivalent DJI Mavic is 3 times the price of this drone, but for what I want this is easily good enough.
The smart features are controlled by the app. I haven’t had chance to use these yet due to poor weather, but when I have flown this drone I’ve loved it. Battery life is good too at around 26 minutes, however charging time is lengthy at 7 hours. Definitely worth getting an additional battery. The charger does hold 2 batteries at a time, but they do not charge simultaneously, so another charger is a good idea too.
All in all this is a fantastic drone for the price. The flying experience is pretty simple and a whole lot of fun. This is a real quality drone for a very affordable price. I’d love to see if there is a possibility of a 4K camera upgrade in the future, basically a straight swap for the existing one, and maybe the possibility of a faster charger, but these are just minor things that would just improve an already great bit of kit.
If you like to fly drones then this one is highly recommended for both beginners and more experienced pilots. Happy days.
