Love this iPad holder! It’s great as I don’t need a television in my room anymore. And can watch everything on here now. It’s very sturdy and clamps on to any flat surface.
Great for flexibility, but the clamp that holds the arm fixed in place is plastic only and broke at the root. It is useless now, after less than a year of use in place
Bough as birthday present for my 70 year old mom to use with her kindle, she can read and stay toasty under the covers using the clicker to change the page, she loves i
Absolutely in love! Works really well, when trying to position it, it is really stiff but it’s a good thing cause the weight of the device won’t move it! Just have to be careful not to snap it. Over all good buy!
Very strong you have to bend with two hands which puts you at ease that it will hold your tablet up. You can bend at any angle you can imagine, looses a star because if you have it on the headboard of your bed the whole thing will wobble, however mounted to a side table it’s sturdy aslong as you don’t knock anything around it. I should add it will wobble but doesn’t fall at all.
Struggles to support the weight of a tablet, without coiling. But it’s a very decent arm. Your device will be gripped tightly. The clamp is a tad bulky, but should attach to most desks without issue.
I clipped mine to my desk and there is no movement at all once you have secured it,so easy to use and my iPad is very snug when put in the holder. I like that you can have it vertical and horizontal without actually moving your iPad it just twists! Now I can watch YouTube or Netflix comfortably
I have bought 3 of these now. 1st one broke after a bout 2 years but it was strapped to the side of a hot tub and out in the elements. This one holds a 10″ tablet to control everything in our garden bar and is perfect for the job.
Does exactly as it should. Holds my kindle, phone and iPad perfectly. Is easy to move and use in multiple places around the house. If you are in two minds about this get it, you won’t regret it.
This is an extremely stiff piece of equipment. Which is great if you don’t ever really want to move it, and it doesn’t move if you knock into it, so be careful. I wish it was more flexible but never mind. Well made and sturdy. My husband bought the iPad version, and the strength for that is perfect.
I use this for my daughter in bed and it works great, the bending of the arm so far is great and it has stayed stiff so it holds up in position. We have had this a couple of months and like it. Have recommended this and will recommend again.
Pleasantly surprised. Holds a firm grip on the tablet
and holds well onto your preferred support. The bar is extremely stiff but this ensures that there’s no drooping with the weight of the tablet. Justs need a bit of strength to position it to where you want it.
Very useful piece of kit to hold a phone for image referencing leaving both hands free (and more importantly so you’re not risking RSI by holding your phone up in the other hand the whole time). The clamping parts (both ends) are very good and firm. There’s a useful notch in the device clamp so you can connect a charging lead while you use it, and the device clamp turns 90 degrees so you can set your device to either portrait or landscape. The arm is very flexible and you can easily bend it to the right height and position and it still feels reassuringly firm. However, if the only object you have to clamp it to is your easel, your device will bounce about as you make your marks on your canvas, which can get annoying. If you have an adjacent stand or table or another item of furniture that’s unattached to the easel, it works better. I don’t have a space big enough for that though so in the end I stopped using the holder and have gone back to holding my phone in my other hand while I paint, or standing the phone against a board on the easel or another part of the easel etc.
This gooseneck tablet holder has a lot of good points and I actually like it. Having tried quite a few different types of tablet and phone holders. The last one I had was a C clamp solid arm that you could adjust up and down, sideways and the point where the tablet is held, is a ball roller type so you could move the screen left and right. I loved that tablet holder – but – you could never pull or push the tablet much either way and so it was fine if you were using it straight ahead, but not so much if you wanted to have it above your bed for example. Where you would want to pull the tablet around at a further angle in order to watch it lying down or lying to the right or left. This new gooseneck is very sturdy, which I like. The clamp is ok but could do with some rubber grips on the inside just to protect the tablet. Otherwise it works well enough. The only thing that bothers me is that the arm is so stiff, that when you go to move the tablet – it ‘always’ move the C clamp slightly off whatever you have screwed it onto. It doesnt come off, but it turns and moves slightly back as if it is going to come off. It doesnt as it tightens very well but, this is going to damage whatever it has been tightened against over time. The arm being so stiff also effects how you position the tablet. There is a solid part at the back of the tablet end and does not bend. So although the arm bends, this bit doesnt and is so stiff it is hard to position where you want it, without a bit of a fight. The most annoying thing that I am unused to is that when you are tapping on your tablet, to bring up whatever you want on it, it bounces up and down which means you either have to hold it? or wait for it to stop bounding. This is more annoying rather than it affecting its sturdiness.
This does technically support mounting the Switch, but only clamped horizontally along the joycon rails, meaning you need to detach the joycons for safety. If your main use for this is the Switch then I’d suggest a phone stand may be preferable, since the minimum clamp size should allow vertical clamping (along the long sides) and let you leave the joycons attached if you have a separate controller. I’ve also used this for a 10″ tablet, it works fine but for large tablets it is the opposite of the Switch, requiring vertical clamping (on the long sides). The core itself is solid alloy, and requires a lot of force to adjust position. They are not joking when they recommend using both hands, and trying to force it to move a lot in one go will likely cause microfractures that will eventually shear the core.
It does work as advertised and is relatively good value, but people with weaker grip, or who want to use it primarily for smaller devices (phones or Switch), may be better served with a smaller device aimed at phones. rather than this version.
Edit: had nearly a year now and still going strong!
I bought this for my daughters wheelchair as cheaper alternative to the 200 one. She uses her iPad as a communication device and constantly bangs on the iPad but it stays put!
The wheelchair folds up easy with it attached and it hasn’t fallen off yet after a few months. It’s easy to set up. Fits several sizes of device from an iPhone to a 10.2 iPad.
Grips. It does bounce about a lot but not enough for me to warrant a major complaint.
10.2 tablets can’t really fit on it with cover so you have to constantly take cover on and off.
Am be a bit bulky and sticky out rather than stream line. But given it’s not advertised for wheelchairs this is just one of those things to consider if your purchasing for that reason
Otherwise im very very happy with this for the price. It’s made my child’s life so much easier at a much more affordable price than the alternative.
While I’ve been on lockdown, my use of my mobile phone and tablet have skyrocketed to the extent that I have actually developed a chronic tendonitis condition in my forearm from holding them so much.
To help alleviate this condition (as well as actually reducing my screentime a bit!) I bought this holder to suspend my mobile phone (and tablet on occasion) in front of me when I’m using them.
Despite my skepticism, the heavy duty variant of the holder (LS07) is phenomenally strong at supporting both my phone and tablet. It has a long 1m bendable neck, expanding/contracting elasticated grips that can clutch most sizes/weights of phone/tablet securely (and with gaps to expose the charging socket and allow a charging cable to be plugged in). Another nice touch is that the grip can be pivoted to achieve the desired angle (very handy when you want to quickly switch between portrait and landscape orientation). A handy, ergonomic cord on both ends can be pulled to open/release the grip on your device, so you can easily unmount it.
The only caveat to the stability of the neck is that it is pretty stiff and resistant to bending. The range of articulation is certainly there, but you’ll need to exert a decent amount of force to pull and manipulate the neck to your requirements (unlike on shorter/weaker models that are more easily pliable, you’ll need to be reasonably strong to make any fine adjustments to its shape and get it precisely the way you want it) – after you’ve got it set up, you can be assured that it won’t budge or droop on it’s own!
I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase. It does exactly what it says on the tin, and it does it very well! It seems well made and durable, so I expect it to last a long time of regular use.
*The only other small caveat I will point out is that if you are ‘actively’ using the device and manipulating the touchscreen (as opposed to ‘passively’ watching something on it without touching), the arm will judder back and forth a little bit as you poke and prod it. This is probably unavoidable for any articulated arm to prevent, and I found the movement to be minimal and it didn’t impact too heavily on my ability to use the device while mounted on the arm (you can always hold the device still with your other hand if you need to perform a particularly accurate and delicate action on the touchscreen). Most importantly, the arm will not droop or change position from this activity – it’ll remain precisely where you positioned it.
The base clamp is also suitably sturdy and keeps the arm fixed securely to whatever you attach it to. It is also padded with rubber, so despite its solid grip, it shouldn’t cause any damage to the surface that it is clamped onto.
I bought this for an iPad mini to use during development as it was helpful to have the display raised in line with my monitors.
The product is well packaged, a neat design for the desk clamp that means you can tighten it above the desk rather than the sort of thing you see with monitor arms and the like where you’re scrabbling around underneath. The desk clamp is quite slim so takes up little place.
Its quite good looking although the clamps look slightly large relative to my smaller tablets but they have a good clamping force so will keep things held tight.
The arm is, as others have mentioned, quite stiff so takes a bit of effort to shape it but once this Is done it stays in place.
For my use the problem was that the entire arm oscillates when you tap or otherwise touch the tablet to the point where you’re using one hand to stop the bouncing and the other to use the tablet. I can see where if you want something in the kitchen or bedroom and you just want to watch video or touch the tablet infrquently it would work.
If you want to use the tablet ‘as normal’, so in my case for development or to use the keyboard or as a point of sale device or similar you’ll want something that keeps the tablet rigid.
I returned this unit and bought another Lamicall tablet holder which is excellent.
