How often does the filter have to be replaced?
We recommend replacing the filter every 2-3 months. However, if you feel the filter smell bad and you can change the filter immediately. Without the filter, the dog water bowl also works fine.
Can I buy the floating disk separately?
Sorry, currently we do not sell the floating disk separately.
I am wondering what the pry opener is for ?
You can use the pry openner to take apart the floating disk to clean, or use it to take down the filter to replace.
Is the bowl BPA free?
Yes. LumoLeaf dog water bowl is made of BPA-free food grade material.
Can I use dishwasher to clean the bowl?
Yes. Please put it on upper rack of dishwasher, and remove the filter before put it in dish-washing machine.

We have a German shepherd so those who know know how messy they are especially when drinking constantly mopping up after this gadget is brilliant just fill with water dog takes what he needs and hardly any drops anywhere great produc
This water bowl is excellent, before we would have puddles of water after the dog had a drink but now hardly any water on the floor, the odd drop but it’s so much cleaner. Takes a bit longer to drink but we love it. Holds 2L so he has plenty to drink. Easy to assemble and disassemble for cleaning. Wouldn’t go back to the old bowl now!
It’s taken us 8 years of wet socks to figure that this product exists! I don’t know if our Labrador is an especially messy drinker or not, I’m guessing it’s normal otherwise this product wouldn’t exist. But I’m glad it does, it’s top notch.
This product does exactly what it is advertised to do. My dog, seen in the video, took to it straight away. It is easy to fill and clean and stays level. Will not go back to a regular water bowl.
This bowl is amazing
Full it up drive with it accidentally kick it not a splash one of the best accessories I have bought
Dogs take a little time to get used to it but that’s to be expected as they are a bit short of grey matte
Wish I’d seen this years ago! Best pet purchase ive made. Our sprocker has always been a messy drinker and has almost ruined our wood floor. After seeing the video for this I was hooked. Only took a couple of goes to show her how to push it down with her tongue and no more dribbles.
This is a great water bowl for most dogs, whether small, medium or large in size. It holds a lot of water and the float mechanism does work well to prevent spill. However, after a few weeks, my Pekingese has refused point blank to use it, though he did find it relatively easy initially and seemed to get a whole lot less water down his “beard” and on the floor. It may be that once the level of water reduces, his very flat face doesn’t fit into the bowl to allow him to drink – a common issue with all flat-faced breeds. My own Peke prefers a flatter style of water dish [like a plant saucer or similar] or one of the angled dishes . It must be said that my own Pekingese is extremely fussy and can be fickle too. Therefore, it your dog is of a pointy faced breed, I do think that this bowl is likely to be excellent for him/her.
I have a golden retriever puppy and he loves this bowl. Doesn’t guzzle or bite and pick it up. So the water stays in the bowl rather than all over the kitchen floor. Can’t rate it enough.
I’ve got four cats and a good three litre water fountain. My Sprocker empties it after two Park sessions so I bought this as an additional water source. Clever design and easy to clea
We always have water everywhere after the dogs drink but this has changed that. It took them about 5 minutes to get used to drinking from it and it’s been a game changer! Easy to wash. We went for the large as 3 dogs share the bowl and its great. Great for the spaniel as his ears stay dry. They can’t even knock this one over!
Would definitely recommend
I have two bulldogs that for years love to drink on the side of there bowl , water went in one side of the mouth and out the other leaving a river flowing on the kitchen floor (not any more).
I never thought possible but they now have to drink from the middle of the bowl give a few days for the dog or dogs to get used to it then there’s no turning back !
It also helps prevent from downing to much water in one go .. 5* produc
Although my dog doesn’t like this bowl it did prevent 90% of the spillage. My dog has made a noise while drinking and he does not drink from it now unless I take the lid off. Not much space in the middle for dogs to get a really good drink. It’s alright but I wouldn’t buy agai
Daughter’s 16m old Cocker Spaniel came to stay and suddenly we had her drinking water dripped all over kitchen floor from her ears and chops whenever drinking from her regular bowl. I ordered this (smaller one) and she understood how to drink from it instantly. No water dripped on floor and her ears remained dry! I then bought another for the lounge which has carpet and not a problem with her drinking in the lounge any more. Who would have thought this water bowl can make such a difference and safer too not to have wet floors in such busy home areas. The top of the water does not get covered in dust or hairs either so is more hygienic. I wash it out completely and refill every morning with fresh water which is all it needs. Totally happy customer and happy dog.
Can’t praise this product highly enough. My dog had a traditional water bowl and every time he had a drink he used to lick the water up the side of the bowl and his rubber mat would be swimming in water wetting his food bowl as well. Now with this product there is absolutely no mess at all. The dog drinks from the centre of the float so all the water he’s slopping around his mouth runs straight back into the bowl. It’s easy to clean. Only downside you have to pay for replacement filters. Highly recommended
Well the dog did think it was hilarious to bob for apples when he first tried it (was poking it with his foot too!) but I think he’s getting the hang of it more now! Nice and big, easy to use (and take apart to clean) and he can’t throw it around the kitchen, so it’s saving a bit of mess, but he can still get a nice wet beard!!
To be honest I’m not one to write reviews however this product deserves one! I have an incredibly bouncy 6 month old lab who has a passion for running around with food and water bowls.. we’ve tried all kind of sizes, shapes, weights and methods but every single one of them ends up being picked up and water spilt absolutely everywhere after just a couple of sips.. I was quite sceptical about the reviews when I purchased this product but by the second time of using it, with me showing him how to press the floating to, he got it!! We’ve now had three weeks of him helping himself to water whenever he wants it, the genius idea of the floating lid has stimulated him into drinking more and it keeps the flys out in the hot weather! I did hold off writing this until the novelty had worn off but we’re now 3 weeks in and we have a happy hydrated puppy, a dry floor and a delighted owner!! Couldn’t recommend it enough!
This is a great bowl for avoiding flooding the floor every time my dog wants a drink – I like that there’s a little rim to keep the floating part from slipping out. It has a decent capacity, as well, so you’re not constantly refilling it, and it’s easy to take apart and clean, with one exception.
My issue is the floating part itself. It’s made from 2 pieces of plastic (one coloured, one white) which clip together securely. The join, however, is not watertight, and water seeps into the airspace formed inside the floating disc. I didn’t notice this at first, I was just washing the bowl, rinsing the filter etc, but I heard water sloshing around inside there and couldn’t get it out just by shaking/draining (although a little did come out) so decided to disassemble it for cleaning.
Those two parts do NOT come apart easily! I have to use a table knife, sliding it all around the outside, gently levering the two pieces apart. The water inside had been in there for a little while at this point and was not nice. I bought mine in Jun ’22 and it didn’t come with any way of opening the plate, but I see from the listing there is now a tool included. Hopefully this now solves the problem and my review is now outdated!
My issue was easily solved by only using the top (coloured) part. It still floats (although it maybe sits a little lower), and I didn’t use the filter anyway, so this solution works well for us. If it weren’t for that issue, it would be a 5* product for me!
I do think this is overpriced, it’s a bowl with a cover that lowers as the water level drops.
But I like the idea of the cover as less dirt gets in the water, and there’s an adequate puddle of water there at all times my 11kg puppy had no issues using it immediately.
I’m really not sure what the filter is for, as the center channel where all the water comes up etc is open… its only the small pin holes along the putter edge that has the filter underneath so from what I can see the filter does nothing to filter the water.
But, I like that it’s a 2L bowl that has a cover and I don’t feel as if my pup is going to dehydrate.
