Bought this to replace a clear plastic chair mat. Folds in half for moving but seems heavy duty in design and materials. Limited design pattern choices but looks good when in position. Easily able to slide about on it on a standard wheeled office chair.
I work from home full time now and have been using my desk chair straight on the spare bedroom carpet, meaning I couldn’t move freely when needed and was constantly leaving dents on the carpet. I kept this desk mat in my basket for a while because the price felt a bit excessive. Eventually, I decided that the home office setup needed an update when I got sent a new chair from work so I bought some cable management solutions and splurged on this mat as it had a small discount. I’m so glad I did. It came folded in half, which means no risk of curling and you could never tell it was folded at one point. The mat is beautiful, and the chair rolls over it without any issues. The material looks very high quality, and it still looks perfect after a couple of months. Certainly much better than a boring clear desk mat that will yellow in no time. Thoroughly recommended!
Works perfectly and protects my carpet from getting destroyed. It’s heavier than I expected but the chair (IKEA) now rolls around as it should. It also grips the floor so it will not move around.
Was looking for something to protect carpet from my office chair. I had a plastic mat (that I hated) and a spare bit of carpet over it. It was forever moving around and irritated me how naff it looked.
When I saw this I thought it was a bit expensive, so pondered it for a while. I’m glad I purchased it now.
It arrived today. It’s heavier than it looks. It’s really robust – I can’t see this moving.
My chair rolls over it 100 times better than the carpet and it looks nice and smart! Going to suggest my husband gets one too.
I’ve tried multiple other mats, but they all sink into the carpet in the office. This is the first mat where the chair rolls freely. It also looks stunning! Worth every penny, excellent packaging, your home office needs this
I have a thick pile carpet with alot of insulation underneath in an office at home – so very spongy. Initially I bought one of those plastic mat thingys with spikes that claimed they were good for thick pile carpets (and were also expensive). The plastic mats were absolutely terrible so if you have a medium to thick pile carpet dont bother with them. One month in and cracks began to appear. Two months in, massive cracks. Three months in and the bloody chair broke through with a loud crack like a ship on ice.
Was nervous this product might be the same but its absolutely FANTASTIC!!! I only have it 2 weeks so cannot speak on durability, but its just as if my chair is sitting on a floor – a floor with a beautiful moroccan, mosaic design. It comes folded in half but you dont see the join when you fold it out and the fact you can fold it in half makes it easy to move somewhere else, if so desired. Wish I had not wasted my money on other items. I was just about to rip the carpet off the floor and am now so glad that I didn’t as it is a new carpet (just bought a house). I ended up buying 2 of them. The purple one is a slightly different shade to the other one, as if it might have been exposed to sunlight. But from experience, this slight color difference will likely even itself out over time in the same environment. And I am so happy with this product that even if it doesnt even out, I really don’t care!! If you have medium to thick pile carpet, please dont waste your time on other products.
The product developed a minor fray after 1 month but the supplier responded quickly to this and arranged for a replacement to be delivered. The supplier engages quickly and looks to resolve any issues. They have been most helpful. The mat does appear to be good quality and sturdy and is much better than any mat I have used previously. I would recommend.

Bought this to protect my carpet from my office chair rubbing it away. Really like the modern looking design and fits my room great. It feels quite sturdy to stand on and its easy to move the chair on, along with being a good size to allow movement. Unfortunately in less than a month it’s already starting to degrade, with the stitching and overall top layer of the mat wearing away with the chair wheels. For the price I was hoping for something that would last a lot longer 🙁
Looking for a carpet protector for wheeled office chair when working from home full time. Read numerous reviews on types of products – many not too positive around flimsy, plastic types or not suitable for medium / deeper piled carpet….went with this, even though quite a bit more expensive but does the job perfectly and will be buying another for the other office area….very heavy board, when opened you can’t massively tell it was folded…carpet is now fully protected and moving on the mat is loads easier too ….just wish a few more designs! Definitely recommend
Looks great and seems to work well on carpet, very little movement and now feels like I’m sat on a hard floor without the need for a nasty plastic mat with studs that stick in the carpet.
Lost a star as it had a couple of marks on when received but such a large heavy product on delivery it seemed easier to just keep!
With working from home much more since lockdown the spare bedroom and lounge have doubled as a home office and we needed something for the chair to sit on. To start with I used a sheet of MDF but then I found these. Okay, so they’re quite a lot of money for what they are (they do the same job as the MDF at 5 times the price) but they look great. I bought one last year, and having just repainted the bedroom and put new carpet down decided to get another. They work really well, can be folded out the way if needed. They happily take the weight of a chair and person allowing you to move the chair without effort or wrecking the carpet. My only very slight complaint is the weave on the fabric looks uneven in places but it’s a minor gripe and is barely noticeable in use.
A little pricy, but it is protecting my carpet from wear and tear from the office chair castors. I weigh about 16 stone or 100kg and the plastic ones tend to shatter and crack. Due to the construction this protector has not made any noticeable deflection or unpleasant sounds. The pile on the carpet is a double pile and this has not ridden the floor, so no annoying moving the chair and repositioning of the mat. The design is quite good and i know there are a range of designs available.
As mentioned this is not a cheap solution, but is considerably more cost effective than replacing a carpet.
Just changed the carpet in our study after years of rolling the office chair backwards and forwards. The old carpet was kaput! To prevent this happening again quickly I bought this mat, deciding it was better than an ordinary rug. I also changed the wheels on the chair to roller blade type as they seemed softer.
The first time I ‘flopped’ onto the chair I shot across to the other side of the room, so care is needed if your chair wheels are very free.
I gave 5 stars for durability, but as I have not had this for long I have just given my observations so far. It certainly seems very sturdy with no sense the wheels are digging in. Unlike an ordinary rug which I tried before it does not buckle or move when you move.
It does exactly what I had hoped for from a product of this type.
It does appear to be one of the more expensive products on the market.
I have been absolutely at my wits end with my office chair not moving, even with my new chair. I then decided to research the office mats and this one had the best reviews for my needs. It arrived promptly and quite heavy for myself to handle but determination and I managed to unpack, unfortunately it does have some sort of mark on it, however after unpacking there was no way I would return, without the mark it would definitely had 5 stars. My chair now moves smoothly around my desk area to files, printer etc, a little expensive but worth every penny no more fights to move the chai
There are a lot of chair mats available on this site (and on other outlets online), and most of them are rather disappointing. I know because I’ve bought enough flimsy rolled up plastic mats over the past two years of WFH to be something of a aficionado by this point.
And if, like me, you have a job that now involves working from a home office 2x a week (or more) then you’ll probably have had the experience of mediating the ongoing battle between your rolling chair and your home flooring, since the former was never designed to be used on domestic carpeting and the latter would be chewed up by regular office chair pressure.
In theory a mat solves this problem – in practice very few mats do. This mat not only solves the problem but is a positive joy to use. I can position myself perfectly at my desk. I can move my chair to reach for drawers/files without difficulty. I can sit down at and get up from my desk with ease. And it looks very nice too.
It’s a little bit dearer than most of the mats you’ll find online, but it’s worth every penny. I’d give it 6 stars if I could.
