This screen is so easy to install. And works brilliantly. I have installed it in a hot country so only hope that the adhesive in it doesn’t perish in it. Apart from that perfect.
One of the best things i have bought as i hate flies buzzing around. It stops the normal size flies but the small ones seem to get through which is a shame. Only managed to do two windows as run out of the magnetic strip. Have plenty of the mesh for the two windows I want to do but will have to get some more magnetic strip if they sell it separately.
It also cuts down the amount of dust that comes through the window which i was very surprised at.
I moved this year and had awful trouble with spiders coming in everyday. Horrible chunky ones and I absolutely hate spiders. So I came to amazon for a solution and I stumbled upon this product and I loved it so much I brought another for my second bedroom. I can sleep with my window open and not worry about spiders coming in.
Yes they are a tad fidly to put together, and do take a little while but it’s worth it. I didn’t cut the mesh the best but I don’t care, I wasn’t bother by that. The magnetic works great! Fits amazing. I also spray with a citrus spray every now and then and I don’t get spiders building up the other side of the mesh.
I like everything about this product. It was easy to install and the quality is great. I don’t see the purpose of the 2 small pieces you attach st the end, I don’t think they serve any purpose, but other than that everything is top.
Easy to put together – especially with the QR code with clear video instructions. Ive only put it around one window as rarely open the other one, definitely will keep the insects out – tight fit. Can hardly tell its there either. Definitely recommend.
Was really difficult not fit not as easy as video makes out. Husband is a tradesman and struggled with clipping on to magnetic strips. However took about 30 minutes and looks good. Only thing is there was only just enough tape etc so doesn’t do for the size it says as my window was smalle
Bought as deterrent for insects and spiders. Now I can have my window wide open without moths making a move for the TV!
Easy to cut, sticks well, magnets are totally perfect.
For the price, couldn’t ask for anything better.
Only downside, is the instructions are a bit vague but between two of us, we managed.
I bought one of these before and bought a second one to do my sons other window in his bedroom which this time round didn’t take too long at all. They are brilliant at keeping bugs out and opening the windows. The mesh is not flimsy whereas other ones I’ve had are.
I used to have the JML stick on curtains but my kittens like to pull those off
These seem much more robust. Look Sooooo much better and are ready to install.
The video is brilliant and showing exactly what to do.
Great product and good quality. Can be a bit fiddly in places (e.g. snapping in the corners) but I’m used to DIY and since I’m putting up seven across the house I’ve got the knack after doing a couple. Didn’t take long to put up and looks really nice. Very pleased with how it came together. Would recommend, but get a second person to help if possible and give yourself plenty of time to make it neat.
Arrived safely. Probably easy to set up and install – just that I am rubbish at reading instructions. Got there in the end and the cat is now safe and I can have the window open in hot days.
Everything is in the box measure your window first this is a must.
I was a little worried about installing this on my own, however it was easy, there is a link to a guide on You Tube that I did watch before hand and its already doing the job of keeping the crawlies at bay. Thank you.
I’ve got 5 pet birds so I needed something that I could put up at the window so that I can have the window open without them getting out.
This is perfect! It’s strong and sturdy and easy to put up, I highly recommend this product.
I like these nets because they really keep the flies at bay. Slightly awkward to assemble, but not a major problem, as they need to be cut to size. Handyman type of job to do. A few simple tools and a bit of care will see you right.
I originally purchased one to test as i was unsure how effective this was. Despite being a bit fiddly to put together initialy. The instructions are relativly clear and once together it works very weel, I have not noticed any insects in the room since. It is easy to remove so i am able to clean the window and it just sticks back on.
I would say the plastic frame feels a bit cheap and flimsy but at the price point i can’t complain too much. It have never come off in the wind or been damaged by a bit of rain.
As a person with a lot of electronics in a small room which gets hot these have been very usefull.
I have since purchased more and would reccomend for people looking for this solution on a budget
For the price point i cant say much more. I can see more expensive options having better build quality or being slighltly easier to assemble but i have not tested these options.
We’ve previously used other products – mesh with 4/6 magnets – but were frustrated with the poor quality. Although these types were better than nothing, there always seemed to be an insufficient number of magnets provided, as gaps would often appear around the window between the magnets.
We took a chance on this type and it appears to be exactly what we needed. The supplied magnet strip and accessories look to be of good quality, it can be cut to size and is relatively easy to install.
We’ve put it up in our youngest child’s bedroom – he’s scared of spiders so the gaps in the other versions meant he didn’t like having his window open – and are so impressed that we’ll order more and replace the current older types.
In a nutshell – good design, good quality and easy to install.
The instructions take a while to make sense of but once you’ve got it this is simple enough to assemble and fit to any reasonably sized window frame. The netting material is extremely flimsy and thin (which is good because you don’t want it to be too opaque and visible from a distance) which means you must be careful. It’s easy to put your fist through and tear it out the frame or have a fold appear if you lean on it. Otherwise a very cheap and reasonable solution if you find flies a problem
A little fiddly to fit but went in fine (a little wonky by me as you can tell in the picture but some extra care installing it and it’ll look great). Expect dirty hands off the magnetic roll.
The breeze still comes through nicely and the light and view are not compromised with the white netting I chose, in fact less than I expected.
I ordered the double sized version so really got 2 windows from the one pack for only a little bit more cost… although on the window I’ve installed I haven’t bothered putting any of the holding system across the top as didn’t think it necessary as it’s already a great cat deterrent and it’s too high for our little daredevil madam to even attempt. Also means I’ve only used 2 corner pieces which is helpful as there are only 4 and couldn’t do 2 full windows anyway. Cutting the netting was easy if you need to do that. I suggest making a strong crease where you want to cut it.
Overall… the right solution for us at a reasonable price.
It does the job it was bought for which is to stop bees coming into my open bedroom window. I selected the white mesh option because I think its less noticeable from the outside.
Having a magnetic screen is better than a velcro one because velcro wears down a little after constant attaching and de-attaching from every time you want to open/close your window you need to remove the mesh so having the magnetic strips is quite a good idea in my opinion
When installing the mesh make sure the window is closed to make room for the handle on the window. And also make sure the first magnetic strip that sticks to the wall is not directly next to a wall corner because the strip that clips on top is slightly wider.
Was a bit hesitant on buying this as not much feedback on velux/skylight windows but got to say, seems good!
I’ve used Velcro fly nets in the past but find that after a few uses, the Velcro starts coming off the wall, whereas the magnets seem better as there’s less force when taking the net off.
Installation was fine, some of my measurements were slightly off but still works as it should (just not as neat).
The only drawback on this (so far) is that it’s a pain to put the actual net on the window when in use due to the window being on the ceiling as opposed to the wall. I find gravity kicks in and you’re trying to fight with it to get all 4 corners on, leaving one corner unattended to attend to another corner when suddenly it drops off. However, once it’s on, it’s on.
As it’s only the first day of use, I’ll update this if I find I have any issues in the future in regards to durability.
Highly recommend and hope this helps!
Don’t get me wrong it was a real pain to install.. the first window took me 3 hours as I did not know that you should not put the magnetic strip right by the wall (this will prevent the pvc strip from clipping on).
The 2nd window took me 1.5 hours. I expect 1.5 hours is a fair amount of time for this.
I ordered 120 x 190cm kit as it would have enough magnetic strip and mesh for 2 windows and the company sells the plastic corners separately for 5 so I got 2 window meshes for 30 – great!
So here is what I have learned:
– Order plastic corners separately to save money as there is enough mesh for 3 small windows in the 120 x 190cm kit (but only enough magnetic and pvc strip for 2 windows)
– For instructions just go on YouTube and type in magnetic fly mesh installation and that is all you will need.
– Measure, measure and measure
– Iron the mesh before putting it on (just a pillowcase or something on it so the mesh does not melt) This will get rid of the creasing
– When applying the mesh to the window, close the window so you get enough room for the window handle.
– The plastic corners are very difficult to clip on, I suggest sliding it on on one side and then clipping on the other.
– After the mesh is on, do not cut around with scissors, use a rectractable knife and you will get super clean results (if you’re a perfectionist like me this is a must)
And on a funny note to the company who produces this – it’s fire retardant not fire retarded 🙂
Recommended and have already bought another kit.
