He loves it and uses it regular as he trains for heavy lifting events and is very pleased with the quality and power of it and battery life also has a few attachment heads too
Heavy lifte
My chiro recommended I get a “thumper” because she uses one on me in my sessions. I chose wisely with this one. It’s very solid, nothing cheap about it. I like it has different settings and the extension means I can reach my back. I find using it after say a while in the garden, really improves my mobility.
I ordered a bob and brad massage gun on recommendation and it arrived but never worked. Put me off the whole idea. Amazon were great and refunded me the 80. Anyway pulled hamstring and desperate to get back to pickleball – ordered this for 40. It’s brilliant so far. Early days but would highly recommend
I couldn’t love this massager more. The extendable handle helps me reach the lower back area. The adjustable setting of strength is so good, as there will be time when I need to massage to be extra strong.
I chose the RENPHO massage gun to replace my previous one from the same brand, which lasted for 2 years. The new model is impressively lightweight, making it comfortable to hold for extended periods.
The detachable handle is a standout feature, enabling independent back massages without needing assistance. This added convenience is a huge plus.
I appreciate the Type-C charging capability, ensuring quick recharging. Even after numerous massages, the battery life remains excellent.
The build quality is robust, and I particularly like the intuitive LED screen that allows easy switching between the 5 speeds and displays the battery level, ensuring I never run out of power unexpectedly.
My only suggestion for improvement would be more options for massage heads and a dedicated case for both the massage gun and its attachments. Currently, I store everything in the original box to prevent misplacing any parts.
Overall, I highly recommend this massage gun for its numerous benefits. Utilizing percussive therapy, it effectively relieves muscle tightness, reduces soreness, improves circulation, and accelerates recovery—whether at home or on the go. Compared to professional massages, it’s a cost-effective solution that has been incredibly beneficial for managing my own health issues and aiding my parents with theirs.
This enables me to massage my own shoulder and back pain amazing design!
I have other Renpho products so I know that the quality of the product was going to be great
Value for money is great with this product, it’s easy to charge and use, comes with a few additional head attachments to swap out when massaging different points of the body
Weight is light weight which is great for stopping fatigue when using, I have had other cheaper models from other brands that feel like your holding a brick to massage yourself this isn’t that heavy in comparison
Well worth the purchase for anyone who needs to massage awkward parts of there body they can’t normally get to without the help of other people now you can do it yourself
I have musculoskeletal problems, and require regular physical therapy. Having injured a limb regular physio has been impossible, getting about has been difficult, and I worry about getting trapped in a downward spiral.
This thing is great. It does not have the power of a Theragun mini, but it is much easier to hold and position, and therefore can be self-administered more regularly and easily.
It’s what I was hoping for, and after just less than a week of use I’m already feeling improvements.
As a lightweight massager, with USB-c, for difficult to reach places – this is great.
Better, stronger, more robust products exist, but cost at least three times the price.
Theragun is worth the money, providing stronger deeper massage than this. But that’s a lot of money, this isn’t.
I have a small theragun I bought for my shoulders/back, but it’s useless unless someone else does it for you.
THIS, on the other hand, is amazing and easy to use – the extension is genius. Like a lot of people that sit at a desk for way too much of their life, I suffer from terrible trapezius and rhomboid tightness that causes all sorts of knots and issues.
It doesn’t entirely get rid of the need of a human massage IMHO, but for some in-between relief and for the money, it’s AMAZING. If I were to be really picky – the handle is quite big, so for someone like me with small hands, it’s a little uncomfortable to hold, but not enough to stop me giving it 5 stars.
I recently got my hands on the RENPHO Muscle Massage Gun, and let me tell you, it’s been a game-changer for my post-workout recovery routine. From its sleek design to its powerful performance, this massage gun ticks all the boxes.
Packaging:
Straight out of the box, I was impressed by the attention to detail in the packaging. The massage gun and its accessories were neatly nestled in a portable case, making it easy to carry around. Plus, the case is sturdy enough to protect the device from any accidental bumps or knocks.
Ergonomics:
The design of the RENPHO massage gun is not only aesthetically pleasing but also incredibly ergonomic. It fits comfortably in my hand, allowing me to target those hard-to-reach muscles with ease. The different massage heads provide versatility, catering to various muscle groups and preferences.
Value for Money:
In terms of value for money, the RENPHO massage gun is a winner. Considering its powerful 3200rpm motor, Type-C charging convenience, and the inclusion of a portable case, it offers great bang for your buck. It’s like having a personal masseuse at your fingertips, without the hefty price tag.
Ease of Use:
One of the standout features of this massage gun is its simplicity. Operating it is a breeze, thanks to the intuitive controls. Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or just someone looking to alleviate muscle tension, you’ll appreciate how effortless it is to use this device.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase of the RENPHO Muscle Massage Gun. It’s become an essential part of my recovery routine, helping me stay on top of my fitness goals without compromising on relaxation. If you’re in the market for a reliable and effective massage gun, look no further than the RENPHO.
My Ratings:
– Packaging: 4
– Ergonomics: 5
– Value for Money: 5
– Ease of Use: 5
I have a lot of issues with anxiety that can often manifest in knots, tightened muscles, cramps and just general tension as it’s like I’m permanently in a state of “bracing for impact”. It’s not pleasant.
My experience with this is that it’s really helpful for alleviating these aches and pains. In my attempts to be more mindful and self aware of what my body is telling me, it’s become easier to identify where issues are occurring. I can then tackle these areas with this massager that not only helps my muscles unwind and alleviate tension, but subsequently helps with unwinding the mind too. I feel so much more relaxed when I use this and I’ve made a routing around using this after work each day to get rid of the pains and tension and then add meditation after to create a sense of calm.
It’s not too heavy at all and is easy to hold for a fair amount of time before your arms start getting a bit achey. I think the price point is perfect for what I have got out of this.
It feels robust, charges quickly and lasts a long time in a single charge too.
The included attachments are perfect for targeting certain areas that are bothersome too and I enjoy the different speeds because you have control over how vigorous or gentle you want the massage to be.
My missus has also found this extremely helpful. There’s a bit of an age difference between us and she’s often experiencing aches and pains (the joys of aging). I actually purchased this for her to help her with these initially, but as she raved about it so much I have it a try myself and haven’t looked back.
We are by no means ache and tension free, but it has improved this dramatically and makes life that bit easier and more bearable. In my mind, you can’t put a price on that but, at the price that this is at, this is a no brainer to get and try out.
I can see this having many benefits for many people of many ages and with a wide variety of medical / mental health issues and I’d highly recommend trying it out for yourself. It might not be for everyone, but all I can do is share our experiences with it. At least amazing have an easy return procedure if this isn’t for you – this is why I think you have nothing to lose and all to gain from purchasing and trying it for yourself.
As you can see the box arrived quite damaged but the item itself was intact and appears of good quality. The user manual is easy to follow and understandable – although clearly not written by a native English speaker. I am using this for general aged-muscle aches and to some extent to see if the arthritis that is beginning in my hands can be minimized with some gentle massage.
So far so good.
The extension handle is easy to put on and take off even with Arthritic fingers and is great for getting to all points of the back and also getting to the calf muscles without quite so much bending whilst standing.
Overall – impressed.
Edited
I thought I would give an update now that I have had chance to use this item for a little while.
First: the damaged packaging, I think this was caused at the packaging stage within the manufacturer since the cellophane wrap was not stretched or damaged. Thumbs up to Amazon who contacted me when checking my review – it automatically assumed it was them. Nice customer service there
Second: I am using this every day for a couple of minutes in total on my hands at the lowest speed of 166rpm (revolutions per minute). The result has been better than I expected. The pain I was experiencing in both hands is no more! I would say a major result although in time I expect the arthritis to get worse. So for now at least I am enjoying the respite
Third: the detachable extra reach handle is a bonus and makes getting to all parts of my back so easy. I have not used the device much here only when I have finished gardening and my back aches. Great to get a massage after though.
Fourth: battery life is excellent. I am still on the initial charge and at 75% full. Much better than I expected for this priced item
Fifth: would I still recommend this Renphoreach? Absolutely. For the price I think I scored on this one 🙂
In summary, I have found a replacement for expensive massage sessions. And, unlike the massage sessions, I get real results that last.
I am a WFH IT Professional and I have two issues. The first is my lower back pain. the second is neck pain, as though something is trapped.
I’m 54 and I have had these pains become very pronounced to the point that I sought the advice of my doctor, who referred me to physio a year ago.
Nothing from the physio worked. I really did do the exercises. However, They did suggest that a massage machine MIGHT help. Now, I’ve spent quite a lot on personal massage which gave only respite from pain for about a day or two. So I searched Amazon and saw this percussive gun from Renpho and thought “It’s novel, I’ll try it and return it if nothing happens”; Good old Amazon Prime return policy to fall back on!
I have now been using this ‘gun’ for several months and it is truly amazing. Firstly, the back issue. Whilst there are several settings and heads, I use setting 5 (MAX) and the flat head for everything. Once applied to my lower back for 5-10 mins, it is like a rejuvenation treatment. Almost all of my pain and stiffness is gone. I have now found that if I use it for 5 mins each morning, I can manage my pain very well.
So, to my neck. this was a revelation the first time I used it here. To start with, when I applied it, on max power with the flat head, there was a really odd ‘squidge’ sound and a feeling of something being released. Next came a wonderful feeling of…freedom! I had discovered a means to massage myself and in a way that I could even manipulate the areas being massaged to maximise the percussive effects of the gun. You can’t do this with a masseuse – well, not the ones I was paying for!
This gun has seriously improved my quality of life. I know the names of the medical issues with my spine but cannot (quite rightly) put them in a review as I’m not a medical professional. I can report my personal impression of the kit though and I want to tell any person thinking of buying this to just do it. The build quality and materials used are top notch too. A full charge now lasts the whole week for me and I use it for about 10 mins each morning.
I paid less than a single massage session for a piece of equipment that does far more than I ever got out of these sessions. I may well still get a massage, but only when on holiday as a treat. For the reason I need massage, I’ll be using this from now on. My life is seriously transformed.
Thank you Renpho. I know you’ve been in this space for seven years and you’re not a drop shipper.
To anyone reading this review, I hope I’ve helped you to make an informed decision either way.
So far this has a great battery life and the attachments are sturdy enough to use for deep tissue massage. Used all morning on fitness attendees with tight muscles that can lead to injury.

The product came really quickly and works as described… the only downside is the charging station and massage gun is a bit funny and required a good few attempts before hearing the noise and light changing colours to indicate its charging otherwise very happy with item and will purchase again in future
I bought this to replace the previous model by the same manufacturer which I damaged by dropping it several times. This is basically the upgraded version and I’m very pleased with it. 2 extra massage levels, 5 not 3, and the handle has been redesigned and much easier to reach my back and to hold generally.
Downsides:
1. All the bright lights. I often use it in bed before I go to sleep with only a dim side light as my quads and hamstrings get very tight from sitting all day and this helps support the stretching etc I do to relive the pain. The lights are SO bright. I’m not really sure why they are there and seem wholly unnecessary.
2. Charging. Previous model was a plug in lead to the massager. This is charged through the holder and ery inconvenient for travelling. Large charging dock taking up space as opposed to a small plug and charge lead. Please change this.
Overall the downsides are not major and I would recommend this massager if you have stiffness that benefits from some massager to relieve pain.
Don’t get this one but the version without the stupid red LED’s because not only do these LED’s don’t do anything, worse, they only go to drain the battery quicker.
Got this RENPHO at the same time as
Snailax Cordless Neck Back and Shoulder Massager with Heat
That Snailax may work for some people but not me, the knobular things don’t do much for my shoulder pain whereas this RENPHO pummels the knots in the neck/shoulder areas which is where most of my problem is located. The REMPHO has the benefit that you could apply it to other parts of your body whereas the Snailax won’t be any good even if it is good for your particular shoulders.
I have had a Hitachi wand massager which works off the mains for decades. Therefore I was surprise this battery operated one can give it a run for it money. This RENPHO is longer and the shape is good to apply to ones lower back from over the top of ones shoulders or around ones side.
There is a purpose to it being heavy and which is that the pummelling action acts more on ones body instead because it is more of an effort for its action to push its heavy massager away from user’s body. That is why I think this is better than my Hitachi because the latter is light weight and the pummeling applied could not be heavy.
There are settings for faster or slower speed (of pummelling) but I found the default setting to be good for most of my needs.
There are several attachments. Again I find the default knob to be most useful most of the time. There was one time I wanted to use the massager on my arms neat the elbow. Changed attachment to a curved applicator instead of a knob. What a waste of time that was. Due to the attachments are screwed on, instead of being secured by a quarter turn affair, the curved attachment ended up at a skewed angle to the line of the massager. If it ended up parallel or at right angles would be fine, and easy to use on ones arm at the elbow but due to it being skewed, ther other hand holding the massager machine had to be skewed accordingly such that the curved attachment sits of the arm where you want it to vibrate. Gave up and re-attached the default knob as that was easier to apply to the affect part of ones arm.
Somewhere read manufacturer’s claim of 120 minutes of run time. Didn’t get that long, I use it 15 to 20 minutes at a time and reckon to get 50 – 60 minutes out of each charge.
There are several different cycles of vibrations you could select but found these to be waste of time also. Reverted to the default constant cycle.
Recommended ? No, but recommend to get the one without red LED’s as it is cheaper. Maybe that one could last 120 minutes of battery time without the extra LEDs to drain the battery ?
I have chronic sciatica and have been suffering for almost 6 months now, taking high dosage prescribed pain meds but finally have had enough of the temporary relief with constant stomach issues they have given me. So….I purchased this….and WOW!! After a 20 minute massage, it loosened my muscles and gave me the relief I needed to walk without pain and a good nights sleep. I am hoping after a few weeks of massages and physio exercises my sciatica can finally go!
I love all the pieces you get with it, as they can all be used for different areas (this is important to know to stop further damage) and the battery has lasted for a full day before needing a recharge.
The only downside, and it’s more of a personal issue, is that it is heavy to hold and the vibration can be felt through my hand. But that’s just because I have never used one before and I’ll get used to it. It makes it awkward as I have to massage the whole of my leg and do not have much mobility to begin with.
But all in all, I am so thankful for this, and can easily recommend it to anyone who needs one.
Having suffered with chronic lower back pains for over 6 weeks I bit the bullet & went to see a chiropractor.
Twice a week for 3 weeks I was seeing a significant improvement but with a 2 week close down for Christmas I bought this massager mainly to stop me going back to square one.
I have to say having now used this 2/3 times a day for the past week my improvement continues.
The massager is easily hand held despite some reviews stating it is heavy (trust me it isn’t)
It has different settings & different intensities & is every bit as powerful as the one my chiropractor is using on me.
The massager comes with 5 different attachments all of which are noticeably different from one another
As an aside I have used this on one of our dogs who is a 15 year old collie who has problems walking who has also shown an improvement
For the price & effectiveness I would definitely recommend this for those of you suffering back pai
Decided to try this after having a go with a Tens type massager and it was much better!
Couldn’t get on with shock therapy massaging.
This was great, I’ve used a couple of the different shaped attachments but have mainly stuck with the rounded head option which is really good at getting into deep muscle areas, plus a good all rounder on your back, legs, etc.
The different modes are useful, especially on sensitive areas like the neck, where you can start off with slow, low vibration and work your way up to stronger vibration if required.
It’s great on the lower back where you can turn it up and really get going in those tired areas, definitely helped me out with a bulging disc.
Fantastic battery life. Have used it for at least an hour before sticking it back on charge but seems to have loads of life left each time.
The unit does have a bit of weight to it but because of the shape, there are different ways of holding it, which makes it reasonably comfortable to use.
It is a well made piece of kit, solid build so can’t see this going wrong any time soon, have had for 3 months so far and used quite often, so it gets a thumbs up from me.
I bought this (in part to massage a torn calf muscle that was healing, slowly, and with a “muscle knot”) following a trawl of “YouTube” video’s on how to deal with calf muscle damage – it was recommended by a pair of physio’s. Given its price I bought it more in hope than expectation and have been pleasantly and considerably surprised by it.
In use it takes a little bit of practice to both determine the “right” head attachment to use and to get at the areas you need to (I need to work horizontally and vertically on the calf muscle itself and this is very adaptable in allowing me to do this). I’ve also found that just holding the handle when massaging isn’t as effective as if you hold the “head” as you can then apply more pressure to the area you are working on. After just one session I experienced both a c70% improvement (reduction) in calf muscle pain and had a considerable increase in freedom of stretching movement – I’m now in to day four and whilst the improvement has slowed (unsurprisingly) it is still getting better. It allows me to work on muscle strenghtening far more than I was able to before. On a personal note I’d also recommend heating the muscles you want to massage before and after use as this seemed to help me on subsequent usage.
I also suffer lower back pain and will try it out on this to see if I can generate some improvement. To be effective in attacking this area it looks like having a willing helper to use the massager on you would be easiest unless you have the flexibility of a gymnast..
The product:
Its heavy, which it probably needs to be. The modes change the timing between pulses. The speed changes the frequency of the pulses. Comes with several heads, including the one I needed. Battery seams to last a good amount of time (its not run out on me yet). The stand is great (if you have room for it).
The problem I have is the power switch. Its very sensitive and you can switch it off by a slight glance. The vibration also appears to switch it off now and again. This may be the same problem the reviewers are having when they say it overheats and switches off. Mine certainly has not overheated, but does switch off now and again when I don’t want it to. It switches right back on, but there is no memory for your setting.
Why I bought it:
Last year the tendent in right heel became painful. After 3 GP appointments and several NHS physio appointments, it didn’t get better. In December my left one did the same. This time I Goggle’d the symptoms and found a youtube video of two American physios who explained how to massage the tendent and not to do the exercise the NHS physio told me to do, until it was pain free. They demonstrated this exact model and said it was great for the price.
I bought one and tried it on my left ankle and calf muscle, as they did in the video. After just one session I could walk without limping on my left. My right has also improved, but by not as much; possible I’ve done some more significant damage when limping or doing the NHS recommended exercises.
I also tried it on my back, which was soothing. Just don’t try it on your head :/
