Esperaba instalar mi slackware 14.1 o, en su defecto, el slackware 15. He fracasado en ambos intentos.
    RECTIFICO:
No borro lo que escrib meses atrs. Lo que dije reflejaba dificultades reales. Mas ahora he de modificar mi opinin.

This palm size silent pc does what it says, I have replaced my Intel NUC and have started this PC and it does the perfect job of my Homo Office. As of now I am very happy and let’s see how far it goes.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have been using only a Linux Ubuntu based system for a decade and I am alweys apprehensive when I have to install a Linux based system on a different computer. Sometimes it can be difficult or impossible.

However, with this computer it was simple.
    1. Pre-prepare a USB installation disk. Plug the USB in BEFORE switching on the computer.
    2. When the computer is switched on, keep the F7 key pressed (do not take the finger off the F7 key) and te BIOS Set Up Menu will appear.
    3. Select the USB from the list and click enter and the computer will reboot to the USB installation disk.

To test the temperature of the four cores, I have used the Linux terminal command:
    watch -n 2 sensors

For everday tasks, it is between 40C to 50C. For video editing, it can rise to 80C, but this is not unusual. Laptops regularly operate at 90C. The critical temperature, where the computer will switch off appears to be 105C.

I will definitely, recommend this computer to Linux Ubuntu users. I have been using this computer for a month before I wrote this review.

Best thing as the name suggests is the lack of noise. Totally silent in operation, I have it set up in a living room space which means it doesn’t disturb anyone else in the room. It is mounted on the back of a wide screen monitor and you can hardly notice it’s there, basically turns the monitor into an all in one PC. Does get warm in operation however I haven’t noticed any dip in performance (I use it for web browsing and cloud gaming so probably not that demanding). Can be easily hooked up to the TV for cloud gaming too. The WiFi 6 works noticeably better for cloud gaming than an older PC that I have, little to no glitches when playing Xbox cloud gaming. Very light and no power brick so can easily be transported in a jacket pocket. I would recommend this for a family PC set up.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFor astrophotography, the MeLE Quieter3Q is absolutely fantastic. Think of it as a Windows 11 version of the ASI Air, and you get the idea. It is about the size of an iPhone 14 and weighs virtually nothing. It comes pre-installed with Windows 11 Pro, which supports remote desktop, so it is possible to log in remotely over wifi. The software I use is NINA, PHD2, GSS and Stellarium, and it all works perfectly. I have also customised the PC by installing a 1TB NVMe M.2 card. For the price (240 in the November 2022 sales) it is also a bargain.

Bought as a portable PC for work. Nice small package. Recommend you obtain a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse (bluetooth) and perhaps an HDMI cable to connect to external displays. No issues with the PC and it working and Windows was installed as promised.

Does run very hot but this is to be expected as it has no active cooling but it did not affect its use for me.

Makes for a very compact and portable setup.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDen MeLE Quieter 3Q Mini PC nutze ich fr Roon Rock.

I purchased this to stream videos on my TV. It is completely silent and although it gets warm, it is not hot. I leave it on all day even when the TV is off.
The unit is tiny. My wife is happy that it can hide in the TV cabinet.

It’s not a fast machine and doesn’t have much ram or hdd but for my use case it is perfect because it is super low power consumption and completely sile

Fantastic power from such a small device. Its not much bigger than my mobile phone! I’m using it as a control pc for an astronomy rig that I’m putting together. I can control from either inside my house or via tablet if I’m somewhere else. It has more than enough to run all the necessary programs.

I’m delighted with this machine – if you want a tiny, cheap but powerful computer to do standard things (NOT gaming or video editing), look no further.
I bought this for just under 200 while it was on promotion. It is a tiny box, completely silent, and is more powerful than any machine of a similar size that I have ever owned. It has two video ports (you may need a mini-DP to HDMI adapter for the second), three standard USB3 ports, a fancy USB-C port and connects to the outside world via Gigabit Ethernet or wifi. Setting it up was very straightforward – you can get drivers from the manufacturer’s website or from a number of other places on the web.
I found that the onboard disk was very slow, so for 20 I bought a 256Gb NVMe SSD drive and attached it to the motherboard. The machine felt much snappier after that.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLikes: it’s silent, it’s tiny, it runs Windows 11 and it will perform most of the tasks people need. Dislikes: none at this price. Yes, it runs quite hot and things like Windows updates run slowly (the 22H2 feature update took an age), but overall it is amazing to think how much you can get for your money these days, and in such a compact package. Obviously, game players and video editors will look elsewhere, but they are not the target audience. Note that you’ll likely need to have or buy a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to get the most out it: you can use usb wired of course, but you’ll need something more remote if you have it connected to your TV, as I have.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersInitially bought the 3Q 128GB version to replace multiple Raspberry Pi “servers” that I was running with a view to migrating everything to Docker on the 3Q. I put a 1TB WD Blue NVME drive in the 3Q and ignored the embedded 128GB eMMC.

Not interested in the Windows 11 that was on it as shipped I installed Debian and Docker and now this one tiny PC runs my whole house. DNS, DHCP, Smarthome services, Smartphone reporting with Influx and Grafana, ad blocking, network tunneling, and anything else I can think of to put on it! Nothing that requires a lot of processing grunt as they aren’t the most powerful devices but, it runs perfectly and keeps cool averaging 35C. But it is in the cool environment of my garage.
I put so much on the 3Q I realised it was a critical single point of failure for my house so I got the slightly newer 3C as well during the recent sales as a backup device. The price point of these is now, I think, too high. The original 3Q I got for 210 and it’s now up around 280!
The 3C is nicer because you don’t have to rely on the dedicated USB C 12v power supply that comes with the PC and can use a standard USB C power supply that supports PD. Apart from that the 3C is almost identical.
As a small, low power consumption home server running Linux this can’t be beaten and for anyone running lots of Raspberry Pi’s like I was, I can’t recommend this enough as a single device replacement. I now have four redundant Raspberry Pi 4s I think I might be able to make some money on to offset some of my Quieter PC investment!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI like the size but it failed because of over heating. The overheating burned out the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth section making it useless. I changed to another unit with a cooling fan.

This seems to be a good product. But needed a reinstall of windows as out of the box it would not update. Otherwise good portable mini computer. It does get very warm but works fine.

It’s about the size of an old cassette tape and it runs rings around every PC I ever owned. It fits on the back of a monitor so keeps your work area free. It runs windows 11 pro, which is sleek and fast. It has a lot of power for running multiple apps, but is quite happy running YouTube at 4k, if that’s your thing. It plays Xbox games too. Buy it, be blown away when it is delivered to your door and you see how small it is, be blown away when you see what it can do. Be blown away at the price. Highly recommended.

I like this little product I use it on my desktop for streaming and running test sites under linux on great functionality and very powerful. As long as you realise it gets hot and don’t cover it up its all good

The main reason I bought this was because it was silent and I wanted to maybe run Node Red or Homeassistant on it instead of the hard to find Raspberry PIs.

It comes with Windows 11 and is easy to get up and running although if you want to re-install the Window OS on another drive M.2 NVME maybe then there is a problem with the manufacturers website link to the windows image as it doesn’t exist on their server, I tried contactng them but with no response so be aware of this although I assume a standard windows install should work?

I added a 500GB M.2 NVME drive and added the latest Ubuntu and it happily dual boots into either windows or Ubuntu and seems quite quick for it’s size and the fact it’s fanless.

The top cover does get quite warm when you are driving the processor hard but not enough to burn you.

Overall I’m impressed with the quality and speed of this little device.
