I have not had the opportunity to use this yet, but have tested it, and find that I can only get it to work off my phone; it will not accept a USB stick, as advertised. I will be able to use it, but in a limited way.
This projector has a clear full HD 1080p picture. The picture quality is clear and crisp, usable during the day, but very washed out. This project really shines in a dark environment. The speakers aren’t very good at all, but personally I always have external speakers connected to a projector or TV anyways. One of the major pros about this projector, is that it comes with a 100 inch projector screen right in the box, so you don’t need to go out and buy one separately. For the price, you can’t go wrong.
I got this projector as a backup to my higher end Epson projector which cost over $500. I have been using my high priced Epson for our family movie nights but got a bit worried when I realized how much the replacement bulb cost. I figured I would give this a try to see if it could serve as a day to day casual projector. It is not as bright as my Epson but it was bright enough to see in a dimly lit room. I did not get a chance to use the included screen so I cannot comment on it but overall this is a great projector that works well for everyday use.
*** PROS: ***
– Very good connectivity options including HDMI, RCA, and Wifi. All work well
– Decent brightness in a dim room (though it doesn’t compare to the brightness of the my Epson
– Built in speaker works fairly well for its size but not as loud as external speakers
– Remote is easy to use and works from both behind and in front of the projector
*** CONS: ***
– Definitely not as bright as my more Expensive projector though the connectivity features somewhat make up for this
– Control works well but feels a little cheap
– Lamp Cover simply pulls off… there is no place to store or lock it
– Getting the ideal picture requires some patience.
I put this up in the kids play room to watch cartoons and movies. My intention was to mirror an android tablet to it but this didn’t work too well. the connection was glitchy and the frame rate would often drop so much that it was un-watchable regardless of the video quality. Bandwidth is not an issue in my home and easily mirror other devices without this lag so I doubt that it is my network so to be sure I set up a dedicated wifi network and saw no noticeable improvement. My solution was to plug a roku into it and stream to the roku which solved the problem.
The projector itself has a good picture and reasonable sound although I don’t use it. As far as the projection screen goes, its just a piece of wrinkled lightweight cloth to tack up. Frankly it looks better projected directly on the wall.
I also wouldn’t try to project too large. I have it set to about the same area as a 42″ tv and it looks pretty good but any larger it starts to get less crisp
This project connects easily to mobile phones with no issues. The description of the product says that it comes with extra gifts of 230″ and 100″. However what was included is only 100″ screen. Build quality is very good. it does get a little bit hot and loud while working. Sounds quality is high and good for this price range.
Now comes the most important part, the picture quality. I have taken 3 pictures to show how good the picture is compared to an original picture from a mobile phone. Overall, the smaller the picture the better the quality.
The brightness of the colors has reduced by around 30% when projecting to a smaller size of around 30-55 inch, compared to a mobile phone and reduced more ( by around 50%) when projecting to around 70-80 inch. So I find it difficult to validate how this can project up to 230 inch while keeping the same picture quality as the source. Also one of picture of the product in the description shows a perfect match between a mobile phone and the projector which again something I could not substantiate.
Overall, this is a budget projector with good picture quality if you don’t mind having to project to a smaller size. I also find projecting to a plain room wall produced a better picture quality compared to the screen included.
So I was using a projector for a TV 20 years ago when they weighed 150lbs and the picture was ok. No one wanted to sit under it because it would kill you if it fell on you. The trade off was a 10′ screen.
This projector will not give you a 10′ screen but it will give you a nice high definition picture, great contrast , long bulb life and won’t kill someone if it drops from the ceiling.
I mirrored to it easy enough and with the included screen had it up and going in under 20 minutes (I work slow). It is not a $500 projector but it gets the job done nicely for a more than reasonable price.
