This is a replacement I had for another minisforum pc that developed a fault with the power switch, this one is working flawlessly after a few weeks and I have to say I’m impressed with the speed and how quiet it is compared to other mini PCs I’ve had.
Also my experience with the aftersales support was really good, they seem to care about the customer which was a refreshing change.
The only thing I wish they’d change is the very very bright power switch LED on the front, it doesn’t need to be this bright! I have put a cover over it so I’m not blinded by the ligh
A lot of power in a small space, and a lot cheaper than all the main rivals – I even went so far as to look on ebay and Aliexpress but still couldnt match the spec for this price
Mine came preinstalled with Win 11 Pro (which I couldnt find on any other review) which is important to me as I use it for Virtual Machines and RDP host (both are Pro features!)
Pros
– Amazing power in such a small space
– Upgradable – nothing is soldered!
– “Free” Win 11 Pro install and no bloatware! (Amazing!! not even Mcafee!!1)
– 2x 2.5GB NICs – great feature if you wanted to use it for routing
– Quiet and I have R23 Cinebenched it and though it did thermal throttle after around 5mins, it wasnt much and its very doubtful you would see that in real world use
Cons
– The BIOS is very simple, there isn’t much to it and no advanced features
– the support page from the manufacturer is very basic, so dont expect quarterly software updates; though at time of writing there is a BIOS update for it! – encouraging!
– As others have said, the blue power LED is VERY bright, so if in a bedroom etc this could be distracting (I have covered mine with a bit of card)
– The SATA port is on a small breakout cable, and while works ok, feels very flimsy and I dont have a lot of confidence in its longevity
– I wish it had a 2nd m.2 port. Big sad.
– Again as others have said, The lid is very easy to open by accident just by moving the unit around, but a minor issue.
Overall I am really impressed, and would recommend this to people who want something small and mighty. I would definitely buy it again.
