Great quick release plate for monfrotto tripod.
The plate fits nicely on the tripod and is secured to the camera with screws.
The plate is easy to put on and remove.
Would recommend
I got this quick release plate to work with my Neewer Fluid Head that I purchased several months ago. I wanted a backup release plate but, in particular, I wanted this one when I saw it had the built-in half-ring to attach it to my camera. The original one I had did not so I had to use a coin to attach it and tighten it down. This quick release plate is longer than the original one I got with the fluid head. It’s very nicely machined and has a solid feel. It works perfectly for my needs.
As is always the case with Neewer, this is a very good quality product and outstanding value for money. It’s easy to fit and to remove and doesn’t cause any scuffs or scratches. It’s just as good as an OEM part and Neewer as a brand has never let me down.
Am I the only one e who leaves his plate on his primary camrea, then takes the tripod out with a secondary camera and hits the issue of having a camrea and tripod with no plate!!!!
Well not now.
This is a great plate that I now keep on my tripod just incase I’m out with it with another camrea.
No issues found with it, another fantastic part made by Neewer. 5*****
I use multiple cameras from various angles depending on the product video I’m working on, I needed more of these as the only way to get them before was to buy the whole ‘set’, this was the perfect option for me.

Needed another QR for my manfrotto, and this did the job perfectly. Usual Neewer high quality & build, which is what you want and expect when you’re trusting this almost 10K of equipment!
Hope my review was helpful
Well made replacement for the Manfrotto 501PL release plate. It comes with both 3/8″ and 1/4″ screws which have a folding handle so it is possible (but not advisable) to fit without a screwdriver. Can’t see much wrong with it and it is 10 cheaper than the Manfrotto original.
I have two other Neewer products, their large tripod and the higher-end monopod. Both of these use the same plate and this one appears to be the exact same one shipped and works with manfroto as well.
A great little quick release plates for my tripods. This one works really well with my current set up and if it’s perfectly with my K&F tripod. Comes with two different screws for two different mounts but I really only need the small screw. The rubber adhesive seems very well assembled, only time will tell.
There’s really not a lot you can say about a rail bar. You can talk about the quality of the materials and of the manufacture and you can talk about the fit. In all these aspects the NEEWER QR5 Quick Release Plate (made to mimic the Manfrotto 501PL and 504PL) is a Vixen Style Plate and scores high. The plate is made of quality metal and is sturdy. It fits well into my Neewer tripod head and is easy to both lock into place and to release. It comes with both 1/4-20 and 3/8″ mounting screws and has multiple rubber pads for the safety of equipment and internal flanges to prevent the plate from sliding off.
This Neweer QR5 Plate scores as a very solid 5 star product to buy.
This is quite a versatile Q/R mounting plate from NEEWER as it comes with both and 3/8 standard size mounting/securing screws – see photos -that are secured by a ‘floating’ rubber type plug plus it also features a retractable locating pin. There is aloes a small instruction manual but it’s so basic but full marks for including it. I have used this to mount my JVC camcorder on and it fits my Manfrotto fluid head tripod very well – indeed, you might be mistaken into thinking it was from the same manufacturer, which is a complement by the way!
Not a bad QRP but not the best I’ve had for the money either. Good that it’s got quick release screws but its not up to the quality of Manfrotto or anything like that. Its good enough as a back up but perhaps a false economy if you’ve spent a stack on a decent camera and tripod – single point of weakness.
When I am using some of my larger lenses or my video rig I need to know that my camera or rig are stable and securely attached to the tripod. This NEEWER 501PL 504PL Quick Release Plate is ideal for that purpose and is a very good fit onto my NEEWER tripod head.
The longer length is very useful when attaching the plate to a lens foot as the whole foot is pulled tight to the cushioned to surface providing good stability. It is supplied with both 3/8″ and 1/4″ screws and has a rubber bung which is simply removed from the screw slot to facilitate the removal and replacement either fixing screw.
The overall fit and finish is exactly what I’d expect from NEEWER, it looks good and feels durable. Having used the plate a good number of times there is no sign of any marking along the clamping surfaces. Overall a good quality and practical quick release plate which is suitable for use with a wide range of cameras and video recording equipment. Recommended.
NEEWER 501PL 504PL Quick Release Plate Compatible with Manfrotto, Camera Mounting Plate with 1/4″ and 3/8″ Screws, Retractable Anti Off Pin for GM001 GM002 GM006 Tripod Fluid Heads, QR5
Pros I fit all my cameras with these: not only does it make tripod fitting a breeze but it also strengthens what I find to be the weakest part of any camera, the base – giving an extra layer of protection when you put the camera down.
In this latter role I leave it attached – but fixed horizontally, parallel to the camera rather than on the lens axis, when I mount for video shooting
This NEEWAR brand base-plate is made of aluminium so doesn’t add much weight to the camera – but when used just as a baseplate it actually makes it easier to hold in the vertical format position as it gives something for finger-tips to grip onto.
The build and finish is good – smooth without snags and the tripod screw is well made and can be fastened with a D-ring.
If you use the Manfrotto tripod head such as the GM001 then that is rated for up to 6KG load. My NEEWER base plate has no trouble holding 3KG of Nikon and zoom lens today without slipping.
For those with older and larger format cameras, it does also come with a 3/8″ tripod bush screw – this fits my Rolleiflex perfectly.
Cons none that I can see.
OVERALL – These are great and I would be happy to get this agai
