We got this for our commercial catering kitchen and it does just the job … unfortunately it’s a little too much fun to use and the boys use it for any ‘fire’ requirements, birthday candles, you name it!!
I will be using it for modelmaking and, having had two other designs fail to the point of not working or being dangerous this looks to be a better design and easy to use.
I mainly bought this for lighting the BBQ. It has a very reliable ignition and the build quality is lovely .
Easy to fill from a butane bottle and works really well. I used to burn myself lighting the bbq with standard lighter but this thing is so efficient and powerful. Absolutely love this thing and couldn’t be without it.
Bought it for soldering jobs a bit too much for the soldering iron to handle.
Refills nice, flame adjuster works nice, the push button lock works nice. Does what I bought it for, pleased with its performance
Easy to use, filled up with original nozzle, so no messing around finding the right one. I have arthritis but found it easy to hold and operate. The 2 settings are perfect for my needs. Overall, a great product and price.
Great bit of kit, far superior to using other lighters when lighting fires and glazing things. Good safety features and easy to refill, excellent item. I have two I was that happy with it.
I had never done this before, but filling up the torch with gas was very straightforward. Once filled it was simple to turn on and off and also to control the flame. In relation to power/ temperature, I am sure it will be adequate for most cooking requirements and certainly some workshop requirements like soldering etc, although it might be down a bit absolute heat for more demanding tasks. I thought it was well made and good value for money.
Super wee thing, very reliable ignition and build quality feels OK. Be warned that many components are plastic so you wouldn’t leave this on for extended periods.
Loses a star because it’s too easy to overfill, which leads to a massive flamethrower situation until the gas level drops a bit. Other than that great. Fills reliably and easily from a butane can and a full fill up probably would last for about 10 to 15 minutes constant flame
Great, stylish, small kitchen gadget! Strong flame for its size so very satisfied! Very good value for money as it was one of the cheapest ones on my search but does not look cheap at all. Recommended!
There was one thing I did not like in the product description – ” Fits all Butane tanks is not quite correct and gives the impression that you can use the screw on disposable tanks, this should be corrected and the point made that it can be refilled from any “Gas lighter refill canister” just for clarity.
The torch is a great kitchen tool and I love using it to melt my cheese. I really love melted cheese. This came as a surprise to me. But it is not equipped with nitrogen, I need to buy it extra, which is very inconvenie
Of course pretty much anything brand new will garner positive reviews, but in reality a thing needs to be owned at least a year before any review can have any value be it positive or negative.
That all said, my gas torch arrived in a sturdy cardboard box (usually a good sign of quality) and after a brief glance at the instructions I filled it with gas.
It does everything that it claims to do and so it should, it’s brand new! My only concern is the piezo electric igniter, these have a terrible reputation for giving up the ghost with no warning whatsoever and often as not consign the product straight to the bin. If after one year of use the thing still lights then I would say that it was a good purchase. If not, then I would never buy anything from this manufacturer ever again.
See you next April 😉
