Resin is great, solid, with little failures on my end. Make sure the exposure time is set a little longer and it’s set.
Using it to make ball-jointed dolls is pretty great actually!
This stuff is awesome. I’ve been able to half my exposure times and lift heights with zero negative effects. The thinner consistency also means it cleans much much faster than what I was using. Sunlu has knocked it out of the park!
I was turned onto this brand by a YouTube named Uncle Jesse and boy he was right. The price point and quality are well worth their weight in gold. Clean up is easy compared to the more expensive brands out there. The resolution and dimensional accuracy are spot on no layer shifts or anything of the sort. I just load the vat with the Sunlu resin and pick which one I using in Lychee slicer and it just works no fussing with it and the results are amazing. Sunlu is one of the only three resins I use now.
Used in combination with a Elegoo MARS 2 PRO. It’s 3D printer resin, it works, it cures. Washing it with isopropyl and allowing the models to cure in the sunlight and or a UV curing station worked just fine.
It is an absolute jerk and a half to clean up though, so keep that in mind. You MUST use isopropyl or it will not clean well. I had some failed prints, but I’m willing to accept that those might have been my fault for improper supports or curing times. Printed most of a ball jointed doll STL with this and with some sanding and patience, it looks pretty decent. Had some weird warping issues on a few parts, so I reprinted them. Again, not sure if my error, the printer’s error or the resin, so YMMV.
A bit over a year ago, I bought a new Elegoo Mars 3 printer. Had a massive failure on the second print, which put a hole in the FEP and put resin on the screen. I was successfully able to clean the screen off, but the printer went into storage shortly after as we moved and I didn’t have time to play around with it. Fast forward to about 2 months ago, I got a good deal on a small bottle of Sunlu resin, and had a bit more time to play around with the printer again. Considering how frustrated I was with the issues I had with the Mars 3 up til that point, I figured I’d probably give up again rather quickly, expecting issues like I’d had with it But the first print came out perfectly. So, I tried another. That also came out exactly as it should have. I’ve only had 2 failures since turning this back on, and those were due to support issues, not the resin nor the printer. The quality of the prints has been amazing, and the resin is keeping up really well with the speed of the printer (most prints only taking an hour or two). Once the first 1 kg bottle of Sunlu was gone, I got another, and went through that really quick, so I got the 2 kg bottle this time. I think I’m up to about 15 total print jobs that were successes, with things printed ranging from the Solgood Ukraine campaign Cyber tank to the Dragon Trappers Lodge collectable Hoppers. I’m ecstatic that I am finally able to print again!
I’ve used this resin for over 6 months and in general this is my go to resin, as its excellent quality in terms of ease of use and durability, with a good value price.
The SUNLU 3D Printer Resin Bundle is a decent option considering its price point. While it might not be the absolute best, it still offers good value. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly resin solution for your 3D printing needs, this bundle could be worth considering
My go to resin. Works a treat. So easy to clean, bye bye Elegoo brand.
Wait until it is on offer. Sometimes the 2L bottles are cheaper than buying smaller amounts.
I am used to using the more… tenacious and ABS like resins, this works out roughly half the price of the stuff I usually use. It has a much thinner viscosity compared to a lot of other resins and a slightly faster cure time (2.5s on a Saturn S seemed my sweet spot after tuning)
It is not something you would want to make a functional part or something that would have any stresses put on it. For miniatures and decorative prints it is great, although I would be more mindful if dropped it has a risk of shattering.
Cured parts seem to glue really well with just basic cyanoacrylate superglues, and sanding with emery boards leaves a great finish without too much extra effort too. First 2000ml bottle has lasted less than 2 weeks. 2 more bottles ordered…
i given this all stars cause this is the sic time i got this from this seller. i am happy with it. its nice for the price tag. i just need to get my settings right. but it is a low Oder kind of. i guess. not as bad as others.
and it does give nice detail. i just need to work on my settings as i get warping. but other then that yes i buy again when i run out.
This resin had become my first choice since it was cheapest and worked well. But not it’s basically same price to other resins I have used I’m not sure I’ll keep using it. Maybe company got greedy? Not sure but seems abit of a bad move.
This resin creates very durable models, though the supports can be hard to remove; I recommend using this resin 4 parts to 5 with another resin, black creality I found is good.
The value for the quality is great. It’s my go-to resin now. I have probably used 15 bottles of this resin and have another 10 on hand. I like to mix the standard and the ABS-like to get a nice model with a little flex and great detail. I am printing on 2 Elegoo Satrun 2’s right now at .04 layer height and my exposure is 2″ and everything looks great. Definitely the best prints I have ever made as far as quality goes. Being a very nice price really helps too!
I print 3d character busts so that I can later paint them. I have purchased sunlu blue and red clear colors, as well as solid white, gray and black. I like that the odor is not too strong and I have been getting good prints with the resins and have different settings that are dialed in for my printer that have been tested with the cones of calibration. All the bottles I have had in the past were SUNLU 3D LCD printing bottles. This one however has a different label missing the 3D LCD printing logo on the bottle. I don’t know if I got a knock off or what but it does not come close to the quality of all my other resin. I can’t get it to print and stay on the plate, I have increased my base layer exposure times and even increased my normal layers to 4s exposure, lowered lift speeds and retract speeds for base and normal layers to 50, increased light off delay for both layers and you can see the results it just sticks to the FEP. Then I have to cure and clean the wasted print off and try again. Sending it back, not sure what to buy now because I don’t want to add over an hour to my prints to just get it to possibly hold on the build plate, then fall mid print. I’m glad this isn’t my first bottle ever, I would go crazy wondering why my settings don’t work, I am 100% certain this is due to the resin as my calibrated settings worked great for the other white SUNLU bottle I had.
I have to say, it performed pretty well overall. The quality of the finished prints was good, and I was able to achieve a high level of detail and precision.
The resin itself is easy to work with and has a decent curing time, which allowed me to create several prints in a relatively short amount of time. The color of the resin was also accurate to what was advertised, which is always a plus.
However, I did experience a few issues with the resin. Firstly, the odor was quite strong, which made it difficult to work with for extended periods. Additionally, the resin is a bit brittle once it’s cured, which made it somewhat difficult to remove from the print bed without damaging the print.
Overall, while the 3D printer resin did have a few drawbacks, I think it’s a solid choice for anyone looking to create high-quality prints with good detail and precision. With a little bit of patience and practice, you can achieve some great results with this resin. Four stars!
I’ll start with the bad. The fumes and odor coming off this is overwhelming. I admit I just started 3d printing and knew about the fumes and smell, but this caught me off guard. I did my first print in my rec room. As soon as it finished, I moved it to my garage. Even then, it’s still too much smell. But this leads to the good about it.
It’s winter and pretty cold, and my garage is not much warmer. With temps in the 30’s, prints still came out fine. It handled the cold really well. No failed prints except for user error.
I got the printer and this to create things for metal casting and I need good details. The quality is better than expected, and I’m still working on dialing it in. For the cost, you can’t beat it. But will I buy again, unfortunately no. I need to go with low to no odor options. Would I recommend, yes, but only if you have a very well ventilated room.
I am new to resin printing, so I have tried several brands of resin trying to find which I like best. Out of the six different brands, SUNLU performed as well as any. The only issue I have is that there seemed to be more odor with SUNLU than with the others. I have my workspace ventilated well, but I can still tell when I use this brand.
That being said I would definitely recommend SUNLU resin to anyone who asks. It prints well and after curing, the prints have good detail and are not brittle.
Brought this recently as new to resin printing. Found it was easy enough to use. Arrived will packed.
The finished result on my printer looked good. Id say its probably a tad expensive at the full price of 25
