It is suggested that using a matte screen protector, along with this shade, is the best way to go and I think they’re right. I’ll get one this spring when it’s time to start using the laptop outside again.
My impression, so far, is that it’s a competent laptop shade. It’s fairly expensive, but it does have decent sized wings on 3 sides. The materials are fairly thick; not flimsy. I do get a lot of glare/reflections, but maybe the screen protector will change that or at least knock it down.
Wishing I came up with this LOL! It helps with the glare for sure. Not ENTIRELY (sometimes I need to reposition), but enough for me to be happy. Knocking one star off for the price, because you’re essentially paying for a leather box with prongs. I can see this being a deal breaker for some people.
The SunShader does its job pretty well. The same laptop screen that can be blindingly bright in a dark room can be impossible to see outdoors. The SunShader brings the dark room to the screen, making it far easier to see.
Mounting is a little wonky for me, though. The little clips that clamp on to the edge of the screen do manage to attach the shade without modifying my devices. However, they apply pressure and my Chromebook with a touchscreen doesn’t like that very much. It would keep registering touches, mostly at the top right of the screen, which could result in inadvertent actions like closing a window or just moving focus from the window I was typing in. On a non-touchscreen device, it works well enough. A device with more bezel around the screen would probably not be as affected as well. I didn’t think of any better solutions for this, though. Things like magnets would work pretty well but would require modifying the device, like sticking on magnetic strips to the back of the screen.
I also think it’s priced a bit expensively for what it is. I’m sure many people have experienced the problem of trying to work on a laptop outdoors, but I’m not sure how many of those people would pay over $50 for a solution to that problem.
For those that have a touchscreen laptop, the errant touch issue might be frustrating enough to want to look elsewhere. For a non-touch device, though, this is a good way to get outdoor visibility while still looking professional.
I really like the computer sun shader. It actually works which is amazing because I love being outside, and working outside is even better. My computer didn’t get hot at all, the sun shader absorbs all the heat. The shader is a little heavy, so be careful with the screen of your laptop it will fall backward. I suggest using it on a table if possible. The clamps slide on fairly easily, my only worry is the might dent the rubber on the rim of the screen on my mac book. Other than those concerns I highly suggest the sun shader.
I often find myself editing drone footage on the fly out in the field and am always irritated with the difficulty I have seeing my laptop screen when the sun is out. This is a PERFECT shading option similar to what I have for my drone controller. It fits my laptop screen firmly, but the clips that attach to my screen leave no mark when removed. This is just brilliantly executed and very well designed. Worth every penny!!
Ich habe krzlich den SunShader Laptop-Sonnenschutz in Anthrazit gekauft und er hat mein Arbeitserlebnis im Freien vllig verndert. Da ich in einem sonnigen Klima lebe, fllt es mir oft schwer, den Bildschirm meines Laptops zu sehen, wenn ich drauen arbeite. Der SunShader lst nicht nur dieses Problem, sondern bietet auch die dringend bentigte Privatsphre und Schutz vor neugierigen Blicken.
Das erste, was mir auffiel, war die Qualitt des Produkts. Es ist klar, dass der SunShader auf Langlebigkeit ausgelegt ist. Das Material fhlt sich langlebig an und die Nhte sind einwandfrei. Die Farbe Anthrazit verleiht meinem Laptop-Setup eine elegante Note.
Die Installation war ein Kinderspiel. Die mitgelieferte Anleitung war unkompliziert und ich brauchte nur ein paar Minuten, um es einzurichten. Die verstellbaren Riemen sorgten fr einen sicheren Sitz an meinem Laptop und ich finde es toll, dass er fr verschiedene Laptopgren geeignet ist.
Der wichtigste Vorteil des SunShader ist seine Wirksamkeit bei der Blockierung des Sonnenlichts und der Reduzierung der Blendung. Es ist, als htte man einen persnlichen Schatten fr seinen Laptop. Ich kann jetzt bei hellem Sonnenlicht arbeiten, ohne stndig auf den Bildschirm blinzeln zu mssen. Dies hat meine Produktivitt im Freien erheblich gesteigert.
Privatsphre ist ein weiterer groer Vorteil des SunShader. Dadurch wird der Betrachtungswinkel verkleinert, sodass es fr niemanden in der Nhe nahezu unmglich ist, einen Blick auf meinen Bildschirm zu werfen. Dies ist besonders praktisch, wenn Sie an ffentlichen Orten wie Cafs oder Parks arbeiten.
Ich schtze die durchdachten Designdetails, wie zum Beispiel den eingebauten Hitzeschild. Es hilft, meinen Laptop auch an heien Tagen khl zu halten, was fr die Langlebigkeit meines Gerts unerlsslich ist.
Eine Sorge, die ich anfangs hatte, war, dass der SunShader meinen Laptop berhitzen knnte. Ich war jedoch angenehm berrascht, dass dies berhaupt kein Problem darstellte. Das Design sorgt fr eine gute Luftzirkulation und die Leistung meines Laptops hat nicht im Geringsten gelitten.
Insgesamt hat der SunShader Laptop-Sonnenschutz in Anthrazit meine Erwartungen bertroffen. Es ist ein vielseitiges Zubehr, das meine Arbeitssitzungen im Freien viel komfortabler und produktiver gemacht hat. Wenn Sie hufig in hellem Sonnenlicht arbeiten oder beim Arbeiten in ffentlichen Rumen zustzliche Privatsphre bentigen, empfehle ich dringend, den SunShader auszuprobieren. Es ist eine kleine Investition, die sich in Bezug auf Komfort und Produktivitt jedoch sehr auszahlt.
The first thing that impressed me was the packaging. It had a nicer design and feel…like a higher quality packaging. The product didn’t disappoint me, in that it has a solid and higher quality look and feel as well.
I have a 15″ laptop. These come in two sizes. I ordered the Large size, and the shade fit very well. I’m not really sure how well it would fit a 17″ laptop, as it looks a little small for that–the top is 14″ wide. There are two clips on the part that clips to the top of the laptop screen and one that clips onto each side of the screen. They attach easily. The price point is a little high for the casual user, but for someone who frequently uses their laptop outside or in a public place, this is a gamechanger. Make sure you measure the diagonal of your laptop screen and order the size shade accordingly.
I actually got it to see if it would work in my car to keep the glare off my phone while I’m on break so I can watch my videos in my air conditioned quite car. I’ve tried so many different things to block the sun so when I saw this, I thought this might be perfect. I tried to test it out today, but we have storms here and the sun was behind storm clouds. I put it in my car to see if it would fit and hold in place and it did.
I go to work on Sunday and will get to try it then. I will update my review to let you know if my idea worked or not.
I did put it up to my laptop and couldn’t really figure out how they wanted me to put it on for it to work correctly, but I didn’t try too hard since I wasn’t using it on my computer. I didn’t want to unstick the sticky parts.
I like to do work outside and thought this Laptop SunShader would be handy. I tried it on my 16″ Macbook Pro Max while working in the garden and it works, it covers your screen well from the sun and it also gives some privacy. I think the item is great, the only comment i have is that the little clips in front covers 2 small parts on top of the screen. This can block a little bit of the upper info on you computer screen. But overall l think this is handy. and it looks cool.
Der Preis von 19,99 (zum Zeitpunkt des Tests) ist schon recht stolz. Allerdings find ich ihn nicht ganz unverdient.
Geliefert wird eine groe Papiertte, in der der Tee enthalten ist. Dieser besteht aus getrockneten Lavendelblten. Und zwar NUR aus den Blten. Ich kann in der Tte keinerlei Restmll” wie Bltter, Stengel etc finden. Die Blten sehen nicht nur gut aus, sie riechen auch intensiv und aromatisch. Das alles lsst auf gute Qualitt schlieen.
Lavendeltee muss man natrlich mgen und ist nicht jedermanns Sache. Die richtige Dosierung macht viel aus, dafr braucht es meist ein bisschen Zeit zum experimentieren. Lavendel kann sehr intensiv schmecken, oder einfach ein leichtes Aroma mitbringen.
Als Tee haben die Blten bei mir tatschlich keine Wirkung. Ich werde davon nicht ruhiger, schlafe nicht besser oder sonst irgendwas. Stattdessen bekomme ich davon einen schrecklich trockenen Mund und Durst. Dennoch geniee ich hin und wieder eine Tasse davon.
Hier bekommt man aber so eine groe Tte und die Blten sind von so guter Qualitt, dass man sie nicht nur fr Tee nutzen kann. Ich nutze Lavendel gerne fr alles mgliche, z.B. Sirup, Duftsckchen, oder auch zum herstellen von Lavendelzucker zum backen oder fr Desserts. brigens auch prima als Deko auf Kuchen geeignet. Dank der groen Tte muss ich nun nicht meinen eigenen Lavendel komplett opfern, sondern kann auf die Blten von Weltecke zurckgreifen.
Ein hoher Preis, dennoch eine Kaufempfehlung von mir. Einfach mal ausprobieren.
I’m using this sun shade in a bit different application than the typical PC user, so my experience may differ from yours. One of my hobbies is amateur (ham) radio, and I use a PC with that station pretty frequently while operating outdoors from locations like park benches and shelters. Sun glare can be a significant issue.
In the past, I’ve tried different approaches to addressing glare and making the screen more readable. These options have ranged from an old cardboard box to a custom homemade sun shield made from black foamcore board. Each works to a greater or lesser degree, but the quick solution (cardboard box) isn’t very elegant, while the better-looking solution requires several hours of custom fitting.
Overall, this product does a great job of improving the readability of my laptop while using it outdoors. I also like that it stores flat and attaches quickly and without potential for damaging my laptop. I really like this sunshade – particularly that it looks good when installed. For that purpose, I like the black (charcoal grey) color rather than the off-white (light grey) although the lighter color is probably better-suited to use when heat buildup is a concern. That hasn’t been a problem for me.
My only real hang-up with the product is the price tag. This seems like a device that would be ideally priced at $35 rather than $65.
Typically out and about with my portable devices I’ve made rough versions of this shade for my laptop and my dash mounted cell phone to make them readable in the sunlight. This is much nicer than my artisan crafted shrouds. It’s well constructed and looks professional not homemade ;-). After a little futzing around I figured out the clips to attach it to my laptop and it’s pretty simple and has a good grip. I like that it will fold up to about the same footprint of my computer so it should fit in any bag I throw it in.
The negative I note is the weight this puts on the screen and it’s hinges. It clips on at the top and sides but there is no other support. No velcro strap or fold under tabs to give you optional additional support. All the weight and strain is on the screen hinges. If I’m typing on my lap I notice it shaking. If I move the whole laptop too fast the centrifical (centrifugal?) force of the weighted hooded lid swings it back toward wide open. Neither of the two laptops I use this on are new but they’re pretty well taken care of and not abused or worn out so I’m a little concerned about the long term strain. I’m learning to be more careful and deliberate about how I handle my computer with this attached.
I like the shade. It definitely makes the screen easier to read and I suppose provides more privacy in your local coffee shop or library from nosey neighbors. It’s low profile, not a huge tent like some other options I’ve seen. Looks good, well made, easy to attach and fold up for storage. Great addition to my road warrior bag.
I got this for my Lenovo Flex which has a 13 inch screen and my HP Omen that has a 16 inch screen. It works great at blocking out the sun and seems like it would also keep it a bit cooler as it seems to cover all of the flex from direct sunlight. I really like it and will be using it often on my back patio. I have a canopy but I still get a glare from surroundings that this seems to fix. Great product.
It actually looks pretty cool and gets pretty dark. When I put it on my dads truck, I was glad my laptop had backlit keys.
The only issue I found was with the side panel that unfortunately is right were they put the power button on my flex. I keeps pressing the button. Seem like I will be able to crimp a line so it can bend there. Only other thing is with the same corners, that when placing it with the laptop in the laptop sleeve, those same corners stick out preventing me from closing the sleeve completely.
Sidenote, if there was an award for instructions, I would nominate the instruction for this. More precisely, it would be for step 2 for this, labeled “Understand the clips”. Priceless and attaching this to your laptop seems impossible without it. Bravo!!

Ich liebe es, im Sommer den Garten als Bro zu nutzen. Das ist mit der Sonne nicht immer einfach. Aus diesem Grund war ich begeistert, als ich im Rahmen des Vine-Programms den SunShader 3 als Testprodukt angeboten bekam.
Leider funktionieret da nicht auf Anhieb. Es ist nicht so einfach, die Abdeckung am Laptop anzubringen. Ich habe ein MacBookPro. Das muss man sehr sensibel angehen, damit keine Halterung beschdigt wird.
Der Sonnenschutz wird gegeben, von oben und von den Seiten, dadurch kann man die Inhalte des Displays viel besser sehen.
Der Sonnenschutz ist eine Sache, deren Anbringung man ben sollte, um damit Spa zu haben, ansonsten funktioniert das Prinzip sehr gut.
Bestellt habe ich mir diesen Sonnenschutz, da ich etwas in dieser Art schon lange gesucht haben. Mit meinem Laptop (15,4 Inch) arbeite ich sehr oft auf der Terrasse. Schon immer habe ich mich darber gergert, dass durch die Sonneneinstrahlung das Display schlecht abzulesen ist. Hier schafft dieser Laptop Sonnenschutz Abhilfe.
Der Aufbau des Sonnenschutzes ist recht einfach gestaltet. Er wird einfach auf dem ausgeklappten Monitor aufgesteckt. Leider ist der Sonnenschutz etwas schwer, weshalb ich den Monitor von hinten immer etwas absichere.
Seine Aufgabe erfllt dieser Sonnenschutz allerdings ganz hervorragend. Die Sonne wird von oben und von den Seiten her abgeblockt und das Display ist wesentlich klarer und besser zu lesen. So macht das Arbeiten Spa. Etwas strend empfinde ich, dass man bei den ueren Tasten links und rechts, wenn man nicht aufpasst, anstoen kann. Das strt dann beim flieenden Schreiben. Das ist allerdings nur eine Gewhnungssache, die man ganz schnell im Griff hat.
Generell bin ich von diesem Sonnenschutz begeistert, nun macht das Arbeiten auf der Terrasse wieder viel mehr Spa. Bestellt hatte ich die Gre Large, da mein Laptop hierfr auch ausgelegt ist. Hier htte man eventuell die Inchgre der passenden Monitore mit dazu schreiben sollen, anstatt nur die Zentimeter.
Ich bin von diesem Sonnenschutz begeistert, ich verwende ihn praktisch regelmig und vergebe somit fnf verdiente Sterne und eine Kaufempfehlung. Den Preis von knapp 65 finde ich sehr hoch, allerdings zahlt er sich durch eine sehr hochwertige Verarbeitung und hohe Nutzungsdauer wieder aus.
Es hat eine Zeit gedauert, bis ich verstanden habe, wie die Abdeckung ab Laptop angebracht werden muss. Die Klemmen erwecken zunchst den Eindruck, dass sie am PC befestigt werden mssen. Stattdessen schiebt man den Rand des Laptops in den schmalen Spalt zwischen Klemme und Befestigung. Die Bilder 1-3 zeigen, wie es nicht funktionieren kann (ich bin erst von einer Fehlkonstruktion ausgegangen). Die letzten Beiden Bilder zeigen wie die Befestigung funktioniert.
Das Material macht ansonsten einen hochwertigen Eindruck. Die Abdeckung kann sowohl als Sichtschutz, als auch Sonnenschutz verwendet werden.
Its a little snug to put on but was very simple to install by depressing 2 clips in the back of the screen with both hands, and finally the 2 side clips to the side screen.
I used it on a windy day and there was very little sway due to what I noticed was a small vent on the bottom that allows air to flow more freely.
My only concern is the durability of the clip’s adhesive protector appears to be ripping off although there are 4 stick-on replacements included. The protector is meant to protect the laptop monitor from damage but is not too durable.
