Fairly no-frills and simple cable. Does exactly what it’s intended for and does it well. Cable looks to be nice quality. Not a lot that can go wrong with a DVI to HDMI cable so it just works. Happy with it!
I added a new monitor to make it a 3 monitors one PC set up. Despite having HDMI cables, I could not connect because my PC’s video’s HDMI and DP ports were occupied leaving only a DVI port.
A lot of DIV – HDMI cables are unidirectional and only work from an HDMI source to a DVI display. That is why I looked for a bidirectional DVI to HDMI cable. This cable gets the job done.
Great well made cable, strong cable and connectors that feel premium. Used to connect an older monitor to a Laptop for WFH, and does the job effortlessly, with a 4k image to boot. for the price can’t go wrong. Great Cable.
I have an older, but good quality, monitor I’m using as a second screen with my computer. It pre-dates HDMI so I’ve been using a HDMI to VGA convertor.
DVI is digital, like HDMI, and VGA is analogue only. I decided to try this HDMI to DVI cable and saw an immediate improvement in picture quality. Much sharper and clearer. Even though I could use the maximum supported screen resolution with VGA, images are just crisper now and text easier to read.
For the price of an inexpensive cable I feel like I’ve got a monitor upgrade. A great solution if you have an otherwise useable monitor that isn’t compatible with a newer computer.
Just one caution, there is more than one type of DVI connector. This is the type you’re most likely to see but it’s worth making sure your monitor socket has the same pin layout before ordering.
Ordered this to link up an older Dell monitor I had that a limited set of ports, one of which was DVI.
First impressions were this was a good quality cable, nice length as well should you need it – this was just going to be for desk based devices. Quality connections on the cable , which is slightly braided, and I was up and running in seconds.
Picture quality was spot on, nice and clear and for less than 10 (at the time of review) this is a great value cable if you need to hook up older devices.
Ordered this cable so that I can stop using an adaptor that was cheaply made and replace with this all-in-1 solution which I am very happy to have, it will used every day!
I like that the cable is somewhat braided, plus the use of metal shielded connectors means this cable will outlast the old.
Good quality DVI to HDMI cable for monitors. I’ve used it to plug my old DVI only port monitor to my HDMI laptop port. It worked like charm and the picture is really good.
I’m really pleased with the VGA to HDMI cable I bought. It’s a terrific method to connect older devices to modern displays while still getting good picture and sound quality. I would strongly suggest this cable to others.
It is crucial to note, however, that VGA is an analogue signal, whereas HDMI is a digital signal. This implies that there will see some quality loss when switching from VGA to HDMI. Furthermore, not all VGA to HDMI cables are compatible with all devices.
PROS
-the cable is really tough: it’s braided, and quite stiff
-signal from computer to monitor is good
CONS
-locking screws at the DVI end are a bit close to the body of the connector, making it difficult to turn them with fingers. The ends of the screws have the typical flat-head screwdriver slots, but the plastic at this tip is relatively soft, I fear that a screwdriver will damage them.
-stiffness of cable makes it a bit awkward to snake it around things on my desk to my monitor, but it’s not a big deal.
NOTES
-this cable is replacing an HDMI-HDMI cable plus HDMI to DVI adaptor, an arrangement which could be a little temperamental. It’s great to have the connection via a single cable now.
MY STAR RATINGS:
1* substandard, mostly cons
2** barely acceptable, cons outweigh the pros
3*** meets the basic requirements, cons balance the pros
4**** good product, pros outweigh the cons
5***** exceptional, all (or almost all) pros
If you want a great server, you can go and buy one for tonnes, or go on ebay or whatever and find a super cheap great one of yesteryear. Problem is, most of these older ones use the DVI port to access the monitor. With my desktop right up to date and my server, well, not quite up-to-date, it can be frustrating trying to just make the connection through that port as you don’t get the DVI connectors on most modern computers.
I’ve wasted a load of time looking for my hub and cables, one to the hub from computer, one from hub to the screen and then sometimes even the power thing for the hub and it is just such a hassle. And I have way too many cables around anyway, what with the monitor, ethernet two power cables on server, one on laptop and cables for mouse and keyboard on the server – plus I have to go and disconnect the hub each time I want to use it for the server.
Of you do the maths (with an s, it is mathematics abbreviated by removing the middle bit so you leave the end on it, because of the word etymology, math/ematic/s, and math would have to have a period at the end even if it was abbreviated that way, like Prof. as opposed to Dr, i.e. D/octo/r), which does not use the period after it) then you can tell that with this you can not mess around with the hub or have the wire in and out of it and still have it connected up. With all the saving in attendant hassle associated with that operation.
That leaves plenty of time not only to master Linux, and network topologies, but also the fundamentals of the history and beauty of words and their origins.
Definitely recommend it.
This cable is really handy to use with maybe an older PC Graphics card that only has a DVI output, other than VGA. Most modern monitors have at least one HDMI input, so this converter cable is really handy. It can of course be used for other devices that have a DVI output. The cable is well made with a fabric outer sheath and worked very well for my needs. The fact that it is also well priced means it gets 5 stars from me.
The cable was ordered to replace a connection between my computer and monitor using various adapters and cables which resulted in unstable video. The first thing I noticed with the Thsucords cable was that both the cable and the DVI connector were more streamlined than the old ones I have. The Thsucords cable is about 5mm in diameter, fabric covered and relatively flexible. The slimmed down cable was easier to fit to the monitor and to route. This probably has played a part in improving the video signal which used to flash when the old cable moved.
My signal is now rock solid — looks like I should have replaced the cable a while ago.
This cable allowed me to connect my computer, which only has HDMI outputs to an old but functional full HD monitor that only has a DVI and VGA inputs. DVI is a better option than VGA. The image is crisp and clear. Since DVI doesn’t carry audio data, that is of course lost.
The gold plating gives better electrical contact, but shouldn’t make much difference on digital signal quality.
Being braided makes these cables nice and robust and less likely to be chewed by pets. The cable is quite light and more flexible than old DVI cables used to be.
It’s black.
It’s wrapped in a plastic bag.
It’s got an HDMI connector at one end.
It’s got an DVI connector at the other end.
It’s a good price as well and works perfectly.. job done!
Using this to connect an old gaming PC’s graphics output to a new monitor via a KVM switcher box that has this and a second input. Sounds complicated but honestly couldn’t be simpler and the output quality is perfect. It’s a shorter length at 1m and comes with a nifty little velcro mini-strap to help keep it, and any neighbouring connectors, tidy into the bargain. Just what I needed.
The Thsucords 4K HDMI to DVI Cable 1M, Gold-Plated & Braided DVI to HDMI Cable arrived in a clear resealable bag..
HDMI to DVR cable also arrived with plastic end caps on both connections, which was great!
The cable is very thin, but this is what I needed. The one that I have before was super high quality and very thick and heavy and this was putting a strain on my HDMI port.
This cable is nice and light and thin and not that heavy, which is saving my HDMI apart from getting broken, which is definitely what I needed.
Tested the cable and I could receive a good signal 1080p on my new Mac mini. I don’t have a 4K monitor yet to test the 4K capabilities.
I also haven’t tested the bi- directional feature with this cable because it’s not needed in my situation, I just needed a HDMI to DVI cable and the job very well.
I’ve experienced no glitches or fuzziness in the picture. Everything is crystal clear as it should be.
This is a great cable, at an affordable price.
