The video shows exactly what you get and my initial impressions of build quality as well as a quick overview of the ports, so I won’t go into all that here. Instead, I’ll go into what I consider most important: the transfer speeds and the port functionality. Full testing methodology included below for your information, but really, the summary is all you need to know.
Summary: Interesting benchmarks! The design is great for a desktop hub, save for the really short cable. However, the benchmarks are where things got interesting. It promised 5Gbps and it delivered almost 10Gbps initially (see the screenshot)! However, it dropped the connection before the write benchmark could complete. I reseated the hub and tested again, achieving speeds of 1010MB/s Read but once again, the test stopped when the write benchmark was running. I know that some USB C hubs have issues when plugged in a certain way round, so I turned the plug over and benchmarked again – again, a fail, but this time it failed before the read benchmark could complete.
This was all when plugged into a 10Gbps port. So my next step was to plug into a different system and use a 5Gbps port instead of a 10Gbps port. I did this and things worked flawlessly – I got proper USB 3.0 speeds of 466.23MB/s Read and 459.96 Write without issue. PD and HDMI also worked fine.
Long story short – if you buy this, try it out as soon as you get it, particularly if you are planning to use it in a faster-than-5Gbps port.
This hub is capable of outputting video to an external display, although you should remember that the USB C port on your computer or device must be able to display video over USB C to use the display features (not all USB C ports do).
Pros & Cons:
+ Good/expected: Almost no drop in performance for the USB 3 Type A and Power Delivery ports compared to plugging into the computer directly.
+ Good/expected: HDMI port worked without issue.
– Bad/disappointing: Didn’t play nicely with the 10Gbps port I tested it with.
—————————————–
Testing methodology:
– USB 3 type A:
Control – 10 GBps SSD enclosure containing 3300 MB/s NVMe SSD plugged directly into a USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5Gbps) Type A socket on the test PC (CrystalDiskMark benchmark 464.13 MB/s);
Test – Same drive plugged into the 5Gbps USB 3 type A port on this hub.
– Power Delivery:
Control – Measured using inline Type C Power monitor connected to 100W charger delivering power directly to a power bank capable of max 18W (9V 2A) charging;
Test – Same, but through this hub instead of directly.
– HDMI: Tested (display and audio) via connection to Samsung monitor and LG 4K TV using known good HDMI cable
Results:
– USB 3 Type A speed: 466.23 MB/s (2.1 MB/s faster than control)
– Power Delivery: 17.30 W (0.4 W less than control)
– HDMI out: OK (including audio delivery over HDMI)
This works well. It’s well built, feels heavy & professional.
And it’s so useful.
My PC is on the floor next to my desk & the USB-C socket is around the back, so a hassle to get to.
This comes with a cable of about 14-15 inches in length, so I can plug into the PC & then the hub sits on the desk, giving me a neat series of USB-A (4) and USB-C (2) sockets, as well as a card reader on the back.
Really useful & happy to recommend.
The USB Hub is a reliable and efficient solution for expanding the USB connectivity of your PC or laptop. With its high-speed data transfer rates, versatile port options, and sturdy aluminum construction, this USB hub provides convenience and functionality for various devices.
One of the standout features of this USB hub is its high-speed data transfer capabilities. With USB 3.0 technology, it supports data transfer speeds of up to 10Gbps, allowing for quick and seamless file transfers, data backup, and device synchronization. This is particularly useful for users who work with large files or require fast data transfer speeds.
The hub’s 9 USB ports offer ample connectivity options, allowing you to connect multiple USB devices simultaneously. This is especially beneficial for users with limited USB ports on their computers or laptops. Additionally, the inclusion of a QC 3.0 18w port provides fast charging capabilities for compatible devices, saving you time and keeping your devices powered up efficiently.
The USB hub’s aluminum construction not only provides durability but also aids in heat dissipation, ensuring optimal performance and longevity. The sleek and compact design of the hub makes it a portable and space-saving solution for both home and office use.
I only have a couple of usb ports on my computer at home and it doesn’t have the usb-c part so these days i think everyone needs on on their computer so i needed something like this and its worked great since picking it up.
Basic hum with good price point. Not the best I ever used as specs are not too notch but for a price it is great. Well made unit. Ports are good quality and there are no disconnect when in use.
My daily activities involve juggling a multitude of tasks, and this hub, well, it’s precisely what one needs when efficiency is a priority. From the get-go, connecting it was straightforward — no extra software or lengthy setups. The HDMI output is particularly noteworthy, delivering crisp visuals that make work presentations and occasional movie streaming an experience to relish. I’ve transferred files and data using the USB ports, and the speed — particularly on the 3.0 — is commendable. There’s also an appreciable design element to it; the aluminium build not only looks good on my desk but also gives an assurance of durability. The feature of charging at high speeds comes handy, ensuring my devices are powered up and ready to go.
USB C Hub, 5 In 1 USB C to HDMI Adapter 4K@30Hz is universal all in one USB Hub that allows your laptop to connect and charge multiple devices. This has two USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0 ports for data transfers, and a USB C charging port with up to 100 watts (depends on devise that support PD fast charging). I have connected this to my laptop and everything works okay, I transferred some photos using the USB 3.0 port and it was pretty quick, I had no lag or issues. I have charged my tablets and phones using the USB C and it supports fast charging, it charged my phone faster than the standard charger I had for my phone. This Hub can also output 4k@30 fps via HDMIi on a separate monitor giving you twin screens useful if you need two displays.
The unit is angled at 32 degrees making it easier to use when using USB sticks, the build quality is good the outer casing is made of aluminium and gives it a premium look and feel, it also allows it to dissipate the heat better.
Overall this is a nice compact Hub that’s provides all the connections you need.
I only have USB-C charging ports in my car therefore this USB hub is ideal as it allows me to charge multiple devices in one go, including my watch, phone and tablets. Really simple to use and it feels very solid and well built. I like the shape of it which means it is angled towards the user and easy to view. The cable is really short which is again perfect for the car as you don’t want trailing cables by your feet. Highly recommended.
I’m using this hub with my old computer to add a few usb ports as I didn’t have enough.
As a hub, it works very well. I don’t have any issues with it.
It’s definitely more a “desktop hub” rather than a something designed to be used while travelling as it’s a bit bigger than most of the others, but it looks nice on my desk.
I would recommend it to anyone looking for a hub for their desktop computer.
I like this neat little piece. It has 4 sockets and gives just what I need. It has a short usbc plug in cord and you’re good to go. It doesn’t take up much room and all the sockets work perfectly. I just needed something to extend the space on my PC and this does the trick very well. Can’t fault it. Recommended.
This is really well built device. It’s multifunctional and I’m all for it. It does exactly what is expected and works well for me. Very convenient to use at home or office.
I love the look of this hub. It’s really stylish and looks/feels solidly made. It’s a neat bit of kit, which looks really good with my set up.
Handy to have UCB-A, USB-C and HDMI ports.
Also very useful to be able to charge through the hub.
Only niggle is I wish the cable were a bit longer so that it could still sit on my desk and look fabulous rather than it dangling in the air when I am using a laptop stand.
My review is based around the as received price of 33 (currently out of stock)
Pros:
Sleek metal aluminium design
Well made
Great quality
100 Watt fast charging PD USB C port
SD card and TF reader slot
Nice design allows for ease of use on both sides
USB C port fast 5Gbps
2 USB A 3.0 ports fast 5Gbps
Cons:
4K HDMI limited to 30Hz
2 USB A ports are limited to 480Mbps (2.0)
SD card limited to 104Mbps (UHS-1 interface)
Summary:
Very good option let down by the cons I have mentioned. Puzzles me why UHS-2 isn’t used here with 312Mbps. 4K is a nice option but at 30Hz? This would put me off buying if utilising the HDMI port is important.
This 5 In 1 usb c hub offers a USB C to HDMI Adapter which outputs 4K@30Hz, PD upto 100W Charging, 2 USB 2.0 Ports and 1 USB 3.0 Port in a very portable pocketable form factor.
It’s incredibly handy to have and works well enough – the only real downsides are around its build quality with the plastic used. They’re just not as robust as the rest of the casing and the plug in cable is wrapped in a light plastic that doesn’t make it as easy to just throw in a lock and forget about it as it could and should be.
The actual features of the dock are great, it works well and although gets warm during use (especially while charging) has yet to get hot so I’m overall impressed though just wish the plastic used was a little bit better quality.
This is extremely useful. I have a new Windows 11 PC and, like most PCs, it doesn’t come with enough USB ports. The extras are normally USB Type A but with my PC there’s one Type A and one Type C on the front of the machine. This gives me the opportunity of using the Type C to connect the hub and extending my USB ports. The hub also has some great features. It has an HDMI port and also allows you to charge something through the hub. The three USB Type A ports on top are USB 2 and USB 3 so this little hub packs a punch. My only gripe is that the cable is a bit short for my PC and I’ve bought a short extension cable to give me some more freedom of movement. However, I’ll still give it five stars.
This is a very stylish 5 in 1 Hub, it’s good looks reflect the great quality and functionality of this fast transfers hub. No problem with overheating and a 100w PD through charge. For it’s size plenty more could have been incorporated, obviously at a cost but it does seem big for the number of ports even though its good looking.
I needed a way to consolidate my cabling on my desk as well as utilize the charging capability of my TB4 on my Lenovo T470s . This hub has worked brilliantly. It allows me to replicant my display, use my peripherals, and charge my laptop all from this one connection. Amazing and good value. The only down side i can see is the white lining for the USB slots feels a little filmize and will depress when inserting and unplugging your USB cables.
Got this for my desktop, increase number of ports available on my desk without constantly going around the back of the computer. Works well, can be a bit quirky when charging a mobile, but that may be my computer more than the device itself. Easy to insert plugs, the memory cards however can be inserted incorrectly, since they are to the side its not always easy to see and get right.
That said, a good quality product that continues to live on my desk – in general, very happy.
Expands fast (5.0 Gpbs) data transfer across an array of different mediums
What I liked:
Quality Aluminium dock, feels like it will resist a few knocks and bumps.
Turns a single USB-C port into five USB ports (two colour-coded USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, and a USB-C
It additionally has USB-C socket for power (supporting PD standard) and a 4K HDMI out (at 30hz),
And it has an SD and a TF card reader
It’s practical and great for connecting multiple fast data-transfer devices (like SSDs) to your USB-C device from just a single USB-C port
Cable from USB-C to the hub is 44cm – comfortably longer than many similar hubs
Things to note:
Note that if you’re powering a monitor, or anything greater than two low powered devices, I’d definitely recommend plugging in USB-C power (cable and power brick not supplied)
Aluminium dock is quite light, which means with many cables plugged in, the twist and tug of the cables can lift the dock off from its flat base
SD and TF card readers are located on the back of the device which can make it slightly trickier to access, especially with a sea of USB cables coming out the front.
Overall though, I found this a good, functional dock, which greatly extended my USB-C and device connectivity
Like this, the hub feels well made with a metal case and nicely positioned sockets.
The data cable is also a reasonable length – not really short like some other hubs.
This means the hub can be easily placed on your desk next to your PC or laptop and the ports are all readily accessible.
Good addition if you are looking for some expansion USB ports, and extra HDMI port or to add SD card readers.
The hub can also be powered if you need to.
I think this is well made and a useful addition.
This 9-in-1 USB adapter by intpw has a unique upright design which connects to your device via USB-C. It comes with a 4K HDMI port, 100W PD port for fast charging, 2x USB-A 2.0 ports and 1x USB-A 3.0 port, as well as SD and TF card reader slots. In comparison to other USB hubs on the market, it has clearly labelled ports, which is really helpful for those of us confused by symbols. It comes in a light silver and white finish and is unique in its design in that it rests flat on a surface and you connect your devices from above and behind. It fits perfectly in a laptop bag and is ideal for taking to the office and connecting your laptop to whichever display or monitor you need to, whilst allowing you to connect many other things to your laptop, such as your phone, mouse dongle, USB data drive, etc. I recommend this product.
Now this is one solid device.
Starting with the design, it’s smooth and adaptable to any smart office desk; I’ve secured this to my desk via. Velcro so that it remains fixed quite easily, but it matches the theme of the Apple ecosystem quite well. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly portable as it is quite hefty and the USB-C cable only attaches from one side [which, depending on how you have your table set-up] which could be an issue for some.
It works effectively and the speed is quick also – though there was some minor stuttering on my 4K display which I realised was due to the 30hz limitation which isn’t a bad thing and after adjusting the refresh rate on my screen, it worked fine.
The pass through charging feature [at 100w] is also a major bonus – something that my other simpler hubs cannot facilitate – so I was pleasantly surprised with this.
A great addition to any office space.
Useful item for laptop/pc or even conected smartphone, connect via usb c then have ability to connect 3 usb devices, if using pc these could be a mouse, keyboard or printer, or use them to access and transfer files, while using the usb c port if your device requires power you can attach usb c cable to this device and that will inturn charge your phone/laptop (quick charge) also port for hdmi for mirroring to tv or something, nice desktop addition, small and inatrusive.
When you are a modern Mac user like me which tends to only use USB-C for your main USB ports then this is perfect when you have other devices you need to connect.
It comes with 2 USB2 ports, a USB3 port. A USBC port so essentially keeps a USBC ready when you take up one on your computer and a HDMI port. So a perfect little device for connecting things to your computer.
It seems sturdy and works well so I am very happy with this.
his is a usb-c hub with 1 x 4k hdmi port, 1 x usb 3.0 port, 2 x usb 2.0 port and a usb-c of pd power port, it’s a table top docking hub, aluminium matte casing, look really nice on table
i found it’s best for usb-c port on the left side of laptop, unfortunately my laptop got only one usb-c on the right, so using this hub was a bit messy if i need those ports facing towards me, cable run from hdmi is conflicting with the laptop
anyway, this hub work properly, it charges my laptop well with a usb-c power cable to the usb-c port as input, all usb ports run really smooth, if there is one more spare usb-c port with the hub it will be perfect
the hdmi port supports my ultra wide resolution display well, no problem so far
i’m satisfied with this product, would recommend
Plugging this small yet robust hub into my MacBook was an immediate revelation. The multiple ports, more than enough to accommodate my digital paraphernalia, facilitated the smooth interplay of my tech environment. Using my external hard drive, keyboard and mouse, while keeping the laptop juiced up, was no longer a puzzle to solve. Shifting from stills to videos, the HDMI output captured every detail, enriching my viewing experience with crisp, vivid imagery. The cherry on top? The aluminium body – aesthetically pleasing and functionally adept at dispersing heat. Cool to the touch, even during an all-nighter of work, which I appreciated. The incline added a touch of stability, a thoughtful detail that shows the maker’s understanding of use in real-worldconditions.
Very versatile and useful USB hub that looks great on a desk or hidden away. There are 9 functions that cover pretty much everything you might need or want to do,
– plugging laptop into external monitor easily
– transferring data from SD/micro-SD cards
– charging laptop
– charging other portable devices
– USB ports for transferring data or charging or daisychaining devices
This does everything adequately. Whilst the USB 3.0 ports only go to 5gbps, this is more than enough for most use cases – with anything faster needing to be internal to your PC, or not essential.
The only improvement would be in the hub were heavier. As with many hubs, as soon as you start plugging cables in, the hub starts twisting in all different directions. Making this heavier would keep the feet on the desk, as currently mine is perched on the back two feet only due to the thick twisted HDMI cable in the back
In a world filled with tech gadgets, I found this USB C hub to be an all-round solution. It has taken the clutter out of my workspace, conveniently replacing a multitude of cables and dongles. Its high-speed data transfer and the bonus of HDMI video output meant that I could work without interruptions, be it on my laptop or my TV screen. Robust, efficient, and user-friendly — this hub is an unassuming workhorse.
This has to be one of the best USB Docking stations I have used.
It looks great. It is a compact, lovely silver color, and fits in really well with MAC Book, or Mini Mac. I really like the design, the ports facing towards you at a slight angle. On a desk, they are easy to access, and really neat. Its. just a smart design.
A single green LED shows it powered. You can route your power through one of the USC C ports. So you have a single lead to connect to your computer.
A wide range of ports.
2 x USB 2.0 Ports ( Full Size)
2 x USB 3 ports ( Full Size)
1 x USB 3.0 ( C )
1 x USB C , used for Power supply – Support high power chargers).
1 x HMDI
Media ports ( mounted on the far side).
I have my unit powered all the time and it does not get hot. Something that can happen with USB docking stations. This cool is perfect, no change in temp.
There is a good selection of Media ports for Memory cards. They are easily accessed.
A really impressive and smart docking station.
There are many USB C hubs available. Most follow a similar design, a grey alloy box and a short USB C connection cable to leverage a high-spec (at least data and display) USB C socket.
This hub from Intpw is then different.
Okay, it is a light silver grey, but the ‘look’ stands out in this segment.
The white plastic inserts and triangular shape are then unusual and, I find, good-looking.
More importantly, I think the design has the practical advantage of making the USB ports easier to see and use.
The flip side of the design is that the SD and TF card reader is to the back, so it is less conveniently sited than the USB ports — if you use data-cards frequently. However, it is no less convenient than I have found the layout of the usual “grey alloy box” hubs with card-readers.
This hub has a single HDMI 4K@30Hz output, allowing you to drive another display – this exits from the ‘rear’ alongside the card reader, which for a display makes sense.
The selection of USB ports is good.
There are two USB 2.0 ports (black) which are okay for peripherals, such as a mouse and/or keyboard – but this an over twenty-year-old standard.
There are two USB-A 3.0 sockets, correctly coloured blue.
There is then a USB-C 3.0 data port.
Lastly, there is a USB-C PD pass-through-charging port at up to 100W, so you can charge your device through the hub.
It is, however, lacking an Ethernet port, which is unusual.
Fundamentally, if this 9 in 1 hub has the ports you are looking for, then it is an interesting – as well as a functional choice.
This is a pretty standard USB-C hub. It has no mains/DC power. It comes in decent packaging that protects it well. You get one dedicated charging port rated to 100W. There are 2 USB 2.0, 2 USB 3.0, and one USB-A data ports, as well as SD and microSD card slots.
These are my main highlights for this product:
Clean minimal design (apart company branding)
Angled design works well
Conforms to specifications
Good build quality, ports easy to use
Only one true charging port
No on/off switches for ports
4K is only 30hz
This is a nice-looking device that works within its specifications. The HDMI gives 60Hz up to 2560 x 1600, 75Hz at 1440p and 144hz at 1080p. The price of 33 seems a little high considering there are no secondary audio or video outputs.
If you are looking for an unpowered USB-C hub with 100W PD charging then this fits the bill, but be aware of its shortcomings. Style over substance is the case here.
It works well with all device plugged in, well built and sleek looking, it delivers enough power to all connected devices, quick data transfer speed, haven’t seen any lags or speed issues so far, overall functioning well and as expected.
I like the look of this but the specification is a bit compromised in terms of HDMI refresh rate and data transfer is limited to usb 3.0 rather than 3.1. But it is important to take into account the relatively low price. It has the option of 100w pass through which is generous enough to power most laptops.
I think it is robustly made and if you don’t need the latest spec this could suit you well.
