Purchased this as a replacement for the Moman 99 battery i had. This Pro version of the battery has the added advantage of an LED screen that shows the percentage of power left, the Voltage it produces and the time left on the battery and the current discharge rate.
The first 99Pro battery, even though sealed in a box and that box shrink-wrapped was dead out of the box and would not charge. Moman replaced it. The new battery is fantastic. Charges easily and lasts well. I have it powering a Blackmagic URSA Mini Pro V2 which has a big draw on batteries. lasts really well.
The other thing i love is you can charge it from a professional VLOCK battery charger, a Moman DTap charger or even from USB .
This little battery can power most of my video and photo items. It has powered my Nikon Z8 all day. It has powered the URSA Mini Pro as well as a Video assist monitor via Tap and a Tilda focus puller via D tap and a remote recorder via USB at the same time. There is no doubt it is a truly versatile battery … I can take it on a plane as it is airline agreed and I can even use its to power lights and other accessories.
However there is a caveat … which you must adhere to. You must never leave it undischarged. If you shrove it away in a camera bag for a few months it can become dormant. If you are lucky … when charging it ‘may’ become active or … it may be totally dead and useless. Moman tell you to charge its at least once a month to prevent this and you must do this. If you don’t follow this and it it is outside warranty you have a battle getting it replaced.
All that said the Moman PRO is a great improvement on the ordinary Moman 99. Being able to see an estimate of how much time is left is a great boon for film making.

Got this to use on my handheld rig with my a7s III and Ninja V monitor. So far it’s been great and keeps my setup from getting too bulky or heavy. The digital screen helps with quickly seeing how much juice is left, and I haven’t had an issue with performance yet.

My only complaint is that the D-Tap flap covers can kind of get in the way of plugging your devices in, but it isn’t too big of an issue unless you’re in a rush.

Had this for a few weeks now. I am using it mostly to charge my Tilta ring grip. Its a great solution for charging my whole camera rig (with accessories) and the multiple ports enable me to also power up my phone or laptop when on the go.
Its a sturdy product, quite heavy to lug about but worth it for the continued extra power. The v-mount works great and feels strong. Having the extra option of the lcd display on the side is great when needing to monitor the battery level. Recharge time is fair considering how much battery you get out of this.
All in all I recommend. Moman have produced a great product. If you need to power your camera gear its a perfect solution.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI purchase this for my Canon R5C. Only 50W but work find for event filming HD & 4K. I have no need for 8k, but this last fully charged on a 5-hour shoot with no problem. Lightweight on my rig and I was able to handhold it for hours without it being too heavy. Good purchase for this camera.

I purchased this battery to power my ZCAM-E2 cinema camera.

The battery lasts around 4.5 hours when I’m consistently filming, which is impressive.

I’m going to buy a second one, which should give me a full 9-hour day of filming.

Overall, it’s a fantastic little battery!

The first reaction you get it’s how small it is. My iPhone 8 Plus is bigger than the battery. The battery is very good however for the money you are paying this doesn’t worth $179. Also the rubber cap that covers the usb is bad. Doesn’t seal properly. The display works fine

Best little battery for the price. I bought this for $145 during AMAZON Prime day and it was well worth it. It’s small, lightweight and has a long battery life after it’s charged. I use this battery for my Canon camera rig and it was a great investment. I definitely would recommend to any creator or person who need a portable battery

I got this battery for a different reason than it’s usually used for. Typically these batteries are used for high end video cameras because of their size and the Dtap needed. I’m using it for A head mounted Headcam for Performance Capture. We needed a stronger battery to run the backpack that powers the recorder mounted as well as the 2 hi res cameras capturing the face data. All of this equipment needs to be strapped to the actors waist on a belt and it starts to get heavy. This battery is twice as small and lighter than the traditional ones used. It last a long time and the variety of options to charge it make it a no-brainer.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersTo be honest using RED bricks and Auton batteries I was looking for this to not be as good as FxLion was saying. In addition purchasing a NP to V/Lock plate from FxLion I had been expecting it to be lose or off fitting (Not a lot of info on these Vis Z-Cam users for some reason I can’t find) . Well it wasn’t… 🙂 So I use these battery’s with a Z-Cam E2 pro and last weekend I shot 12hrs on two of these battery’s using the FxLion NP to V/Lock adapter (This Adapter is not talked about a lot but works amazing with the Z-Cam E2 if you don’t want 5inchs of extra space) This Adapter and battery worked amazingly with each other and never once came lose of the Z-Cam, it ran the entire day flawlessly.. The battery can be changed 3 different ways and incase your wondering (Yes you can charge it Via Mini USB or USB-C.. I used my MacBookPro Charger and it recharged the battery in about 1hr.. That means no more lugging around a V/Mount charger and a Pelican full of batteries.. Maybe I’m so use to spending 700.00 on a battery that only work with one specific charger and lasts 1hr with the weight of 2LB, but these little wonders where mind blowing.. Just for fun I used the Nano on my RED Scarlet W and wouldn’t you know it, it ran that camera 1hr 30min compared to a battery 4 times larger and 4 times heaver. Weird .. So look, if you like the Z-Cam and want to spare walking around with a bunch of NP Battery’s that to be honest pop out when nudged then save yourself the BS and get one of these with the NP adapter.. It pays for it’s self and saves you dragging around a bunch of stuff you don’t need.. Hope this helps

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI bought this because I wanted something small, but that would also last a long time on a Blackmagic Pocket 6k. I knew it would be smaller than a normal v-mount battery, but I had no idea it would be this small. As small as you think it is, its even smaller in person. It’s amazing how small, but yet powerful this thing is. You can power a Blackmagic pocket 6k for about 3 hours with this on a single charge. For comparison, a canon battery lasts about 15-20 minutes for the pocket 6k. At this size and weight, it helps keep everything nice and light. You could probably even get away with having this battery and camera work on a gimbal like the ronin-s.

Besides the obvious pros of the size and weight, there are a couple other things that make this battery stand out. First off, it has d-tap, USB, usb micro, and USB-C outputs. Which means you can power up pretty much anygadget with this thing. And it has an LCD screen that tells you how much battery is left, which most v-mount batteries do not have. Overall, you won’t get any better than this if you want the smallest v-mount battery you can get. It might not be as powerful as a regular size v-mount, but for cutting size and weight, this is the way to go.

    The smallest V-Mount battery ever!

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersNow this made for an interesting surprise. Mostly due to size more than anything, and then performance since we didn’t expect it to do so well at such a size. Given, we expected something to cause an eyebrow to raise based on the price in general. Clearly, something had to be up, else it would be much cheaper. Thankfully, it performed quite well.

We used it for a number of scenarios for some of the equipment, including a Sony video camera, but also took it for a spin in a few other scenarios. Of course we had to test the USB outputs on various accessories, including RF receivers, lights and field monitors (a few adapters needed to adapt to USB but we already had these). However, then we broke out some D-Tap to dummy battery adapters/cables for a few DSLRs, including the Canon 5D and the Panasonic GH5. Both worked fantastically, and took the place of a number of native batteries for each. Making this a great battery to go mobile with.

Weight isn’t bad at all, coming in at just under 11oz, so it rides well on whatever rig it is attached to. The size is nice and fits well in your hands like a fancy/large battery bank for mobile devices with a V-Mount on the back. It disappears onto the back of an LED light easily and works well to charge all of your other misc devices as well (smartphone, etc).

It was our first time working with this brand and it turned out to be a success. We will definitely put it on the list for future addons.

**If you have found our review helpful, please vote it as helpful below so I know. This helps me provide quality feedback in the future.

    A solid V-Mount battery!

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThere are times when size and weight matter, and for those times a Vmount battery as small and light as this one can be a very welcome option. Necessarily reducing the size/weight also reduces power capacity, but it does seem to be able to deliver the claimed 50 watt-hours.

I don’t have a direct way to measure power capacity, but I hooked it up to an Idobol LED panel that specs at 80 watt, and it drove it at full power for 50 minutes — which is about 12 minutes longer than the specs of both would predict.

In addition to lighting I had another application in mind. I use a portable, battery operated CPAP machine when I travel, and the battery is expensive (over $300) for it. I’ve had that battery for five years now, and it is getting weak, so I was concerned that I would have to buy a new one. Instead, I purchased a DTap adapter cable with barrel output plug, and a size adapter for that, and plugged it into my CPAP. The FXLion Nano was able to drive it for 8 hours, which is enough that I now can save not only the cost of a new battery, but the total weight of a USB-C charger cube, cable and the Nano is more than a half a pound less than the CPAP battery and charger — which matters in carryon luggage.

My reason for not giving five stars is the price of the product. Other DTap batteries are far less expensive. The FXLion Nano has a slick design, flexible ways to charge it and multiple types of outputs, which does set it apart in its class, in addition to the size/weight reduction. So whether to purchase it depends on whether that flexibility and size matters to you. If it does, you can be confident that it does operate as it says it does.
