Well my mistake, I brought it for one reason, but being me I didn’t read the product information well enough. It ended up being the wrong one for what I needed. Didn’t need the mini, just needed the older big version. Totally my fault, have tried the product on another and it works perfectly.
Using it on an older Surface pro so I can display stuff on big TVs in hotels or meetings while travelling. Works right up to 4k without issues. Picture quality is good.
Used this to attach a third monitor since the only usable slot was a mini-DP (already used the HDMI port for another monitor). Since the third monitor itself didn’t accept mini-DP, this convertor allowed me to connect it with a standard HDMI cable.
This worked first time as soon as plugged in and gave an excellent display on the chosen monitor screen. Great device and good value for money.
I recently bought a mini computer which I have integrated into a Home Cinema system. The nature of the computer was such that the HDMI output is part of the onboard graphics. Unfortunately everytime I connected the computer via HDMI to my system it intefered with all the ARC settings on my other connected devices. Some quick research revealed that the output from a display/minidisplay port on a computer can be better than HDMI. As my computer had a mini displayport I thought I would try this as the only way to connect to my cinema system was via HDMI. It arrived promptly and I connected it. The computer recognised it and my problem resolved itself. An added bonus was some ARC functionality as well. Very happy with my purchase
Bought this for my gigabyte brix pc which i bought in 2015 and still works perfect so can now use two screens and this adapter works perfect and it was a good price and excellent quaity well worth the price.
I used on my laptop (Dell Lattitude E7440) so that I could have a dual screen display. One display was connected by HDMI lead from the HDMI connection on my laptop to HDMI input interface on monitor 1. Monitor 2 was connected by a second HDMI lead but to the mini display port via this adapter. I configured the display settings in Windows 10 and now have 2 additional display outputs. This is ideal when I have several applications open. I now use this configuration all the time.
