Is it bright enough for outdoor use?
Yes, you can set up a Screen and connect to Ultimea Sound Bar for outdoor movie night. We recommend using the projector in a relatively dark environment for a better picture effect.
Does it support mirror Netflix content from smartphones?
Due to HDCP copyright, the outdoor projector doesn’t support cast Netflix content from smartphones directly. Please use a TV stick, Chromecast, and Roku to enjoy Netflix, Hulu, or Amazon Prime video.
What determines the speed of auto-focus?
The camera sensor, the chip, and the motor determine the speed of auto-focus and the image sharpness. The projector utilizes top-level MT9269 core chip (Most TVs adopt this chip) to achieve auto-focus in 3 seconds compared to other LCD projectors.
What determines the projector’s brightness uniformity and color saturation?
The LCD panel, the light cone, and the mirror determine the light transmittance, which reflects the sharpness and color saturation of the four corners. The projector utilizes a 4″ LCD panel and direct light path design for high brightness uniformity.

Have this now a few months and its proved to be very good. Picture quality is very good and the auto focus and alignment work really well with good room for adjustment. You can place it at very awkward angles and the auto alignment can handle it very well. I have had to once or twice manually adjust focus to get it perfect but thats just a +/- button on the remote so no big deal, it is just as much effort as turning up and down the volume. Sound is actually really good on this, I did think I would have to pick up a separate set of speakers but thought I’d wait and try the built in one first and am glad I did. Its probably not as good as the sound from your tv but its about 95% there and is more than good enough for me.
My only negative comment on this and its why I gave it a 4 start instead of 5 is if you lose the remote there are no manual button options on the projector itself.
Whilst the overall quality of the projector is good, there where dead pixels/ white spots visible on the screen straight out of the box. I completed my return to amazon and as a gesture of goodwill the people at ultimea helped me resolve my issue promptly, I can say that my new projector has excellent picture quality, user interface is very easy, 4 corner keystone makes adjusting to space very easy and the focus make the picture clarity really good for the money, furthermore the customer service at ultimea is very good and can help resolve and fix a wide range of issue.
I initially rated this poorly and contacted the seller to initiate a refund due to the original model I was sent having a loud fan and emitting a high pitched electrical noise when plugged in but powered off.
Ultimea customer service offered to ship out their newer model stock to me which they did so promptly.
The new model is a great improvement with none of the issues I had with the prior model. Projector is quiet and has excellent picture quality – a great bit of kit for the price.
I’ll start off saying this projector for the money was very good! The blacks are impressive and the colours looked solid. However I could not get this sharp at all! I’m not sure if it was my room and projector positioning but the resolution looked really bad. Which is a shame because like I mentioned above, everything else was really impressive.
I got this product on sale for about 170 and this is the first day I’ve used it so I can’t speak for long term use however for my room this projector is pretty cool NGL. I wonder what my life was like before this. It’s good because it’s the equivalent of a TV but without all the cables and space. I prefer to use my own JBL speaker for better sound and I wish the screen had a zoom in feature to maximise the 150inches. The light is easy on the eyes. The quality is really good can’t complain. I’m so happy this was a birthday gift for family member and it made their birthday really special thank you for this produc
I got it in a deal for around 180 instead of claimed 299. For under 200 it’s actually impressive. Wouldn’t pay more than 250 for it.
IMAGE: image rating: 4.5 out of 5. As you can see, I didn’t set it up. I put it on my bed, projected a movie on a wall painted in a yellowish colour. It did really well, it constantly adjusted the image “keystone” while I was moving on my bed. The colours looked good to me considering the fact it is projecting an image on a yellow painted wall. The sharpness from the centre of the image till corners is good, nothing to complain about.
SOUND: Sound rating 2.5 out of 5. Not god. Yes it is ok, but even my ipad pro has a better sound. My old small Bose speaker has a better sound. The projector is actually quite big, I’m wondering if there wasn’t enough space to accommodate similar sound architecture as in my mentioned examples that are much more compact devices. I think this a wasted opportunity.
SIZE: Size rating 3 out of 5. It’s bigger than expected. It could have been smaller.
INTERFACE: Interface rating 3 out of 5. For that price it could have already an android TV installed, but it doesn’t, so you need to buy a TV box, which increases your costs.
DESIGN: Design rating 2.5 out of 5. It’s a cheap plastic imitation of something you don’t see in it. I saw people on youtube got excited about the disc on the box, really? Well, forget it, just make it simple and out of aluminium. This isn’t even recycled plastic.
CONNECTIVITY: Connectivity rating 3.5 out of 5. It is limited.
OVERALL: 3.8 / 3.9 out of 5.
Would I recommend? Yes, if you don’t spend more than 175 on it, it’s not worth any more. Indeed it’s good product that will satisfy your temporary needs for a cinema experience, you still need to get a help by external speakers and TV box.
Can’t believe how good this is for the price. Really impressed with it. Super easy to set up and the picture is great. Auto focus works in seconds and the picture is crisp and clear. Obviously works way better in a darker room. Well happy
Feel confident choosing this projector without hesitation.
Prior to purchasing, I tested cheaper alternatives, but this one surpassed my expectations. The video quality, as stated, is native 1080p and supports 2k, making a noticeable difference from other projectors. A standout feature, well worth the investment, is the remote’s focus and auto-correction capabilities. In summary, I am pleased with the product.
Picture quality is pretty good in daylight and dark but wish it could be better quality when streaming video content from fire stick, it’s a lot better quality from a blue ray dvd. I was surprised how good the sound quality from the projector was which is good if you don’t have any home theatre.
Initially I had an issue where the auto focus would not stay in focus after start up but after speaking with the manufacturer they suggested to update to the latest version, this had to be downloaded from their site and onto a usb stick then loaded onto the projector, not a huge problem but would be easier if it just did updates over WiFi.
I am now happy the projector works to its full potential, a nice to have would be at least one more HDMI port for connecting more than one device, I’m currently using the Bluetooth option for my home theatre but i would prefer it to be a wired connection.
I’ve had a few budget projectors but this is a nice step up, great picture quality, even with the room lights on! Very low noise, overall a very good projector for the price.
This is the best projector so far, amazing quality, I love the design, it’s slightly wider and heavier than mini projectors, but omg so amazing for this price .. easy to install – absolutely love it ..
Update : after a while of using I can hear a strange noise, initially I thought that the projector is cooling off but the noise is persistent all day contacting customer service
I bought this projector as used/refurbished for 200. So it’s hard to compare as it’s far better than other 200 projectors and I haven’t tried others at the standard price. I’m not using a screen, just projected straight onto an off white/cream wall.
The picture quality is very good, sharp, with good colour contrast. At times, when the video is very bright it reflects off the wall and causes the room to brighten, making the image wash out as if there’s a light on. But this is down to how I have it set up, so I’m not taking any points away, just an FYI if you plan on using this without a screen/bright coloured room.
The unit itself is very quiet. I’m sat less than a meter away and it’s no louder than the PC it sits on.
The inbuilt speakers are surprisingly good, you can easily watch a film right next to it with no issues. Obviously, not a lot of bass but very surprised.
Set up is as easy as plugging it it and finding the right spot for it to sit, there doesn’t seem to be a manual zoom, so the screen is dependant on how far away the projector is from the wall. In my pictures, the unit is maybe 5 metres away from the wall and 1.5m off the ground.
Overall I’m very happy with the projector, even if I paid full price I think I would still be very happy.
All I’ve used so far is the HDMI connection, I’m probably not going to bother with BT as its set up next to my PC.
If you turn off the automatic adjustment in thr menu you can then use 4 point keystone manually. If you’re not straight on to the way then the edges get blury a bit, only a problem when it comes to text on screen.
Would be nice if there were some apps, it only has manual inputs. This isn’t a negative point as its a projector and it still projects. But would of been a nice addition.
The projector i received was faulty so had to send back for a replacement. After receiving new unit there was dust in the lens after a few days the picture is still ok to watch at the moment.I must say that the customer service are excellent. The projector is very good for the price you pay the picture is good in light but very good in the dark. The projector is very easy to set up and use the auto keystone and focus are very good and you also can adjust the focus with the supplied remote all you need are the batteries for the remote. If you are looking for a great projector at a good price then this is the one to get.i would have put 5 stars if it was not for the first unit being faulty but i would still recommend getting this projecto
Good projector for the money. Really good at 40 to 60 inches. Brightness does drop off I’ve that but it is only 700ansi lumens. I had an issue with my projector but ultimea customer support were great. Sent me another unit free of charge and a soundbar.
First things first, I’d like to mention that I’ve bought a few projectors from Amazon yd the lower price end of the spectrum and they’ve all gone back for being, well, rubbish.
For the price that I paid for this, honestly, I have zero complaints. It does exactly what I want it to do. The picture quality, whilst not mind blowing, Is more than good enough for casual viewing. The fact the projector has auto focus and keystone adjustment is incredible really.
Although the brightness isn’t blinding, it will serve up a relatively decent picture in a dim room, don’t expect miracles. You’re gonna get a lot more out of it in a dark room, but I’d say it’s useable anywhere except for a brightly lit room. Again, just temper expectations.
The sound from the projector itself is tolerable, but I’d recommend connecting to an external source if possible. If you’re watching the odd Match or kids movie night, the inbuilt is adequate. For my purposes, I did want to connect to an external source. I don’t think there’s a built in pre amp, so it could be better, but again, for the price point, it’s more than serviceable.
Fan noise is there, i won’t pretend it isn’t noticeable, I’d say it’s on par with a decent PC running at full chat with decent cooling. It’s there, but will blend into the background if you don’t concentrate on it.
If you go in expecting the world, you’ll be disappointed, have sensible expectations and you’ll be more than happy with this bit of kit. As I mentioned, I’ve bought a few projectors from Amazon and they’ve gone straight back. I’ve kept this and I’m using it.
My advice would be if you’re looking for something as a starter, or for parties, whatever, you could do a lot worse.
I’ve added a couple.of pictures for reference, just so you can appreciate this is a real review if nothing else.
As you can see in the picture, the lense has streaks on the inside. I’m not sure how to (or even if I can) clean that.
Still giving it 5 stars because I’m happy with its performance otherwise, it’s bright, sharp, and soooo quiet! The auto focus is superb.
Note: The customer service is great, contacted me about the dirty lense and sent another projector.
I have now been using the projector for a month. The projector had two black spots (projection on the screen), which when pointed out to the customer service, they promptly replaced the projector – very quick response and great customer service!
I am using a 120 inch screen. The brightness, colour and picture quality is just great considering the price of the projector. Have enjoyed few large screen movies until now. Event in slight ambient light, the projection is clear.
Autofocus is not great but then you can manually adjust it using the remote.
You can manually adjust the brightness, colour, contract and sharpness by using the remote. This is not explained in the manual but the customer service team was helpful in explaining how to adjust.
I will post an update in few months.
The other comments sum up the machine well. It loses a star because:
1) although the autofocus is clevet, you cannot manually adjust the contrast or zoom at all. This is a dealbreaker for many, and
2) it does not come with screws to connect it to a standard ceiling bracket. Previous machines I have bought have these built in to the feet. Not this one. A huge pain to find suitable screws!
3) there is a small but perceptible lack between the screen and the speaker. Worse if you connect it to bluetooth speakers. This might be the Roku I’m using, but you have to use a streamer box as the projector is not “smart”
Really, really enjoying this. Watching my favourite movies on a 100″ screen. Picture great, sound surprisingly good from the projector itself.
One slight foible with the remote, contacted customer service, phenomenally helpful and dealt with without a quibble. You can get 720p a lot cheaper but I think this well worth the money.
The picture is very clear and bright sound is nice and loud the fan is quite did have a an issue with black spots .But customer service were very good and resolved the issue would recommend very good seller would recommend.
I won’t take any pictures, I feel it does not represent the picture quality. For the price (I believe I payed just over 200), picture is simply astonishing, hostly, when I first turned it on I was stunned and at that point I still had the light on in my living room. Fan noise – again, surprisingly quiet compared to the projector I just sent back to amazon (due to some fault) with half the advertised brightness. I won’t be speculating sound quality because I’m using a very decent sound system at home and it far surpassed anything comming out of the projector so I’m not using projector’s speakers, however I did test the sound and it seems very clear and it can be turned very loud. So those are all nice things…
There are some negatives I found which are mostly design mistakes in my opinion. Like remote control button mapping (“home” and “return” buttons should be swapped to start with, volume controls should be up and down instead of horizontal, focus adjusting buttons shouldn’t be anywhere near volume buttons, where is “autofocus” button???), good job you only need to use it once in a blue moon, it’s quite frustrating… Another thing I found that I would like different, all the cable inputs outputs I’d like to be on the side of the projector just like the power cable since the unit is quite large for a shelf and I’m having to bend the HDMI cable quite sharply to have the projector squarely on the shelf, same applies to usb slots, those shouldn’t be on the back in my opinion. I am also missing optical audio output so I could have dolby atmos from my sound system, but that seems to be common amongst the home projectors in fact I put a lot of time in trying to find a projector with mentioned optical sound output, there are non, not at anywhere near the price tag and unfortunately Bluetooth can only transmit Stereo sound at best at its maximum data transfer rate.
Adding couple of pictures for size referance also the remote I was ranting about.
Hope that helps.
Update after a month: inside lense of “Fully sealed graphics engine” got covered in dust, had to send it back…
Another update! Tireless communication from the supplier and utmost effort to give the customer a positive experience is absolutely astonishing… I was told the batch I was sent the first projector from wasnt produced in dust controlled environment therefore there was a possibility for the dust to get inside the sealed optics. This production line was stopped and transfered to dust free factory so I was told!
I’ll give it another month and see how it goes.
Really pleased with this, the picture is bright and clear, the autofocus feature is excellent, and the manual override using the remote is easy to use. The GUI is clean and straight forward. The fan noise is minimal, it’s quite a large unit is the only thing. But overall I would say excellent value for money!
