I don’t know the first thing about action cameras as I’ve never had one. But I wouldn’t say this one is for the beginner like myself as it’s very complicated. Well at least for me it is. Unfortunately I had to send it back as one of the batteries was a duffer i don’t know about the other as I never tried it. But on first opening the camera I was amazed how small it was and very robust. Are they all like that? I don’t know. But what I do know it was quality at its best. Before I started to try and get this to work I was initially very happy with it. When I got it going it wouldn’t stay connected to the WiFi for some reason or other but like I say I know nothing of these so maybe that was me. It’s only the fact that the battery was no good it went back. I was really only after an action cam to record a video and be able to download on my iPhone. Basically just press one button for record and press it again for stop. Something really simple. This does far too many things for me. As for the app I also didn’t have a clue about that. The could make that much easier to use. If you have knowledge of action cams this would be an excellent choice for the money i would say. Also you get lots of different mounts. And truth be known I’m a little sick mine had to go back.
Absolutely amazing video & audio quality. Fantastic stabilisation intuitive and easy to use menu system. Great for beginners & pros alike. A beautiful sleek design & build quality comes with amazing array of extras. Would give more than 5 stars. If you purchase this item you will not be disappointed. Amazing customer service would give them
The Akaso Brave 7 is a versatile action camera with commendable features. Its dual screens, including a front-facing one, make framing shots a breeze. The 4K video quality and image stabilization deliver sharp, smooth footage. The included accessories and waterproof capability enhance its outdoor usability. However, there are issues with low-light performance and connecting to WiFi, without freezing. Overall, the Akaso Brave 7 offers good value for its price, catering to both beginners and those on a budget. As I couldn’t justify forking out for the GoPro 11 V2 this is a cool budget action cam for my needs. If you are a vlogger posting regularly and want to come across more professionally then, GoPro all the way. But for intermittent private use then getting this camera is a no brainer.
This camera is much cheaper than the market leaders but has lots of similar features. Shoots up to 4k, and connects to your phone via wifi as well as a remote control fob with wrist strap.
Comes with two batteries and a charging stand as well as plenty of mounting accessories including sticky pad, helmet clamp, handlebar and tripod screw mount. The camera fits inside a protective plastic housing and also has a lens protector. There is also a foam cover which is very light.
The one I bought didn’t have a micro SD memory card. Make sure to buy a U3 type as this camera needs to save a lot of data very quickly.
There are plenty of shooting modes time lapse, hyper lapse (like time lapse but with moving camera), slow motion, and stills. It also can be used as a dash cam.
Very nice video image, good colours, OK sound.
This is my first action camera. After searching loads of budget action camera in amazon. Watching reviews and videos on the internet. I’ve decided to get the brave 7 Le. But ended up with Brave 7. For extra features. I also paid less compare to the regular price of it. When I received the action camera. First impression was this action camera looks sturdy and it has decent weight for it’s price. It is user friendly. Scrolling the display is smooth. And it comes with accessories that you needed. Planning to use this when we go on holiday. And I’m pretty sure that I won’t have any regrets buying this. First test was very impressive. The video was very clear and photos are quite impressive. Just buy the external mic for audio enhancement. I also bought the waterproof case for added water protection. I recommend to buy 128gb and up micro sd card and card reader (for faster tranfer to phone or computer) because it uses a lot of space specially recording in high resolution. Akaso Customer service was great answering all my queries before buying the Brave 7.
I recently purchased the Akaso action camera and I am extremely impressed with its features and capabilities. The camera itself is compact and lightweight, making it the perfect companion for any adventure. The picture quality is fantastic, capturing high-resolution photos and videos with crystal-clear clarity. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it also comes with a wide range of accessories, including a waterproof case, making it suitable for water sports and other outdoor activities. The camera is also easy to use, with an intuitive interface and responsive controls. I particularly appreciate the built-in WiFi feature, which allows me to connect it to my phone and instantly share my content with family and friends. Overall, I would highly recommend the Akaso camera to anyone looking for an affordable, yet powerful action camera. It is truly a fantastic investment for capturing all your memorable moments!
I purchased the Akaso Brave 7 as an alternative to the costlier GoPro after having used a Gitup Git2 for 7 years. The Brave 7 is an easy to setup and use camera. After tinkering with the settings for 5 minutes, I mounted the camera on my car dash and went for a drive. Arriving home, I checked out the footage and I was pleased. Recording at 4K 30fps, I was very pleased with the daytime and late afternoon footage along with the early evening as things got darker. I was able to view number plates clearly in the footage under all these conditions.
Some friends moved house recently, so I setup the camera in their new place and they moved in, unpacked and decorated the place. The timelapse footage was lovely and they loved the quality of the footage as it marked their special occasion.
I also took the camera kayaking in a lake and submerged it for a while. Rain started pouring too and the camera remained functional and unaffected. I’m yet to do diving tests with the new housing I’ve purchased for it.
Overall, I think this is a functional and robust piece of kit that does a lot of things for a very good price.
Happy shooting!
I purchased this camera to use whilst out and about filming, I read the reviews and thought I would give it a go as they seem positive..
I had an issue with the first camera that was sent, but after returning the item I was contacted by customer service and they couldn’t be any more helpful.
I was offered a replacement which I gladly accepted, the communication from the customer service representative was fantastic and very professional, I was given details of when my new camera would arrive, ( it arrived a day early )
I’m very happy with the new replacement and it works great.
Easy to use touch screen clear menu’s.
Very handy remote control.
Lots of clips and extras in the box.
1 thing I have found is the sound, the Built-in mic is OK but not brilliant, it would be fine if you are using the camera to record as a dash cam, or activities, but if you want to use it for other things that needs clear sound use the external mic, ( good price and available from the store ) works well..
Overall this is a great little action camera with lots of extras, it looks great, works well, at a very responsible price.
With fantastic customer support if you ever have an issue.
First impressions were good, the packaging is high quality and very similar to my first GoPro Hero 960 a long time back. The clip the camera was attached to had a very clever accessory which consisted of a rubber bung with a hoop to attach to any accessory screw, the bung prevents the release tabs on the clip being squeezed together ensuring the clip can’t be undone accidentally. It’s a very simple idea, but also works perfectly.
The camera comes packaged with a decent number of accessories. Having used GoPro’s and other action cams in the past I already own most of these accessories but it’s nice to have them included, Yi/Xaiomi for example haven’t supplied any accessories when I’ve bought their cams in the past.
One major criticism is that the camera doesn’t have a tripod thread in the camera, which means you can only use GoPro-style accessories for mounting. For me a tripod thread should be mandatory on any camera of any type. It’s not a deal-breaker, but given the camera is waterproof without using a case, a tripod thread would be a bonus.
The camera itself feels sturdy and weighty, parts of the body feel like they might be metal alloy, but the battery/connector doors definitely do not. The Yi cameras I own are absolutely plastic-y, whereas the Akaso feels more rugged. On the other hand the Akaso seems a little heavier, meaning my Hohem gimbal will cope with it, but vibrates at times showing that the gimbal motors are being overwhelmed. I might need to set up the gimbal to deal with the camera.
The camera boots up to some fairly acceptable stock settings, although I will always tweak these. Turning on EIS, 50hz mains (because I’m in the UK), distortion correction and 140 FOV are all musts for me, but that’s just my preferences. The rear screen is the default, the front “selfie” screen seems to only be available by using the down key on the side of the camera. I’ve never owned an action cam with a selfie screen, but I thought the selfie screen would be available simultaneously with the main screen. It’s not a big issue though.
I’ve tried a few shots with the Brave 7 so far and the output looks great. I plan on using this as my main action camera over the coming months, and it seems to be good value so far. I’m curious as to whether the screw-off lens cover will allow for different lenses or accessories, but at this stage I can’t see any available. Being able to attach different lenses or even filters would transform this camera though.
Overall it seems to be a quality bit of kit to me, I’d very much recommend it to anyone who doesn’t want to splash the cash on the D*I or GoP*o alternatives.
