I’ve used a few different car air fresheners over the years, but the Ikeda Dark Night Air Freshener Car is by far my favourite. It has a deep, masculine scent that is perfect for a man’s car. The scent is not too overpowering, but it is strong enough to fill the car with a pleasant aroma.

Overall, I am very happy with the Ikeda Dark Night Air Freshener Car. It is a well-made and effective air freshener with a pleasant scent.
It does smell amazing and it seems to be holding well, I have had it for 2 weeks and ilI still have about a 3rd .
The only downside is that you have to remember to turn it upside down from time to time so the lace gets embedeed with perfume.
Supplied in a small Ikeda branded cardboard box, the Dusk Smell Air Freshener is a small aesthetically pleasing bottle on a rope that has a twofold purpose, one is to act as an odour neutraliser and the other to add a fragrance of your choice to the interior of the car or indeed room!
I actually ordered this for my son as he purchased a used car recently and whilst it had no unwanted odours in it, I thought this might add a pleasant scent to his journeys which he has since confirmed as he is very happy with it. The bottle contains the liquid that performs the aforementioned dual roles and the stopper in the bottle is used as the mechanism to control the strength (and thus longevity) of the neutralizer and aroma. The chosen dusk of love scent is pleasant without being too sweet or cloying and it really does give the car a nicer ambience. AT 12.99 they are not cheap, but they do seem to last a while — I would guess at the current rate of use around 50-60 days so not too bad on longevity, and they do actually work well with good dispersion right through the car.
I ordered the coconut-scented version of this car air freshener, and I must say it has a subtle and refreshing fragrance. However, the coconut aroma seems a bit faint at times, and you might need to tip it upside down to let the liquid flow from the top to fully release the scent. Nevertheless, the packaging is undeniably exquisite, with a beautifully designed glass bottle and a wooden cap adorned with some Japanese characters. It’s not just a car accessory; it doubles as a tasteful decoration.
After a month of use, it appears that around half of the liquid remains, so it should last for approximately two months. At 12.99, the price is not exactly a bargain, but it’s still reasonable and acceptable for the quality and aesthetics of the product.
The fragrance of this air freshener is immediatly apparent upon entering the car, pleasant but maybe a little sweet, it does make a difference. The fragrance has just a hint of coconut, with other scents coming through. I’ll not comment the appearance, that’s a matter of personal taste.
We got this air freshener to replace one that was of a similar type, this one is supposed to be a coconut scent but my wife says it’s a bit of a sweet scent.
It arrives in a well presented box and would make an ideal gift.
The freshener is in a cute little bottle with a Sandalwood lid, it is suspended by a short nylon rope from the rear view mirror ( or wherever you wish to use it).
It has good dispersion around the car and lasts a long while, if the last one is anything to go by.
At 12.99 at the time of writing this review, it sounds expensive for only 8ml, but the full on scent that it gives is so much better than any others we have tried in the past, it just keeps going until the last drop in the bottle, we would recommend these type of fresheners.
I really like these car scents, the shape and style of the bottle makes them really easy to hang in your car and distributes the scent really well. This scent is meant to be coconut, however it smells more like vanilla to me with a hint of coconut. It is nice but a little too sweet for my taste. The scent itself has been in my car for a few days and I can smell it as soon as I open the door. Not sure how long it will last but I would buy a replacement, in a another scent.

Easy to work on, but instructions that are outside of the box, I had such trouble reading, it’s so tiny.

But it lasts forever. I find I have to keep tipping it up slightly every few days to “release the scent” once this is done it holds for days! Takes up a tiny amount of space too so doesn’t interfere with driving or vision.

The product arrived in an elegant black box with a magnetic closure, giving it a chic and premium feel right from the start. Inside the box, I discovered a glass bottle with a wooden top adorned with Chinese calligraphy.
The instructions for use were straightforward. I removed the wooden top, which was a nice touch, and unscrewed it to reveal the bottle’s opening. After removing the plastic bung, I reattached the wooden top and inverted the bottle. This allowed the oils to saturate the wooden top, which is a clever design element.
The air freshener also came with two strings and a toggle in the lid, designed for hanging the product. I placed mine around my car’s rear-view mirror. The toggle can be adjusted to control the amount of scent released, although the exact mechanism behind this wasn’t entirely clear to me, and I found the smell to be quite overpowering and unable to alter this.
The scent itself, described as “Dawn of Love,” had a combination of sandalwood, fruity (orange notes), and floral notes, although I expected it to have a fresher scent based on the name. Nonetheless, it was not unpleasant, but as it was dispensing so fast it was quite overpowering.
I would prefer for the strength of the scent to be more easily adjustable, this was it wouldn’t run out so fast. Mine is nearly empty after a month’s use.
This is a good scent, although I am not sure what the berry scent is as its more citrus than berry. This arrives in a lovely box, something that you don’t expect from an air freshener, and it looks like a very nice gift. The bottle itself is about an inch squared, but is full to the brim of the liquid. To use, unscrew the top, take out the plastic bung, screw the top back on and that’s it.
To use the scent, turn the freshener upside down briefly to let the scent soak through and then turn it the right way up. The scent is very refreshing, and quite strong. The longevity of the scent depends on how much you are pouring upside down, but should last around 40 days, which is great.
Overall a lovely, summery citrusy scent (not so much berry though)
So strong scent long lasting ….better thank Yankee costing less? Maybe . All I can say with this scent it won’t go unnoticed and it lasts a while. Some may say it’s over powering but I quite like it , if you’re after a strong scent that lasts a while look no further is definitely better then the cardboard hangers .
Will start by saying that it really grinds my gears when you get generic things like this that have genders applied, it’s pointless but annoying. It’s not floral but that doesn’t mean that I enjoy the scent any less than my husband or son, equally the “for women” one I have in my car my husband likes, so like I say, pointless.
Anyway, the product itself. It is expensive compared to your usual air freshener but I’ve found with these they last really well and don’t weaken in their scent like others do. You do need to occasionally give it a bit of a wobble/tilt to diffuse the scent but it’s not often. We’ve got this up in our small loo under a shelf as there isn’t really anywhere to put it in the car, as it says to keep out of sunlight so the rear view mirror is out!
Nice orange scent and the bottle isn’t too big so it doesn’t distract me when I’m driving. Make sure you tighten the top properly as I didn’t so it unscrewed itself and dropped on my phone, my fault! My car is covered in oil but at least it smells nice!
This comes in a nice box well secured it’s easy to set up remove the plastic stopper part and then the fragrance fills into the wood and creates the nice smell
It looks nice not your boring normal air fresheners you can tie it to your car mirror the smell is lovely and is strong I think this will last for a good while
This is a quality car air freshener. The aroma is really nice and a good strength without being too ‘heady.’ I think these would make nice gifts, particularly for someone who enjoys their car as these are good looking. The little glass jar with the liquid is slightly graduating in colour with a turquoise/blue like the ocean.
The rope hanger is convenient for attaching to your car but it is worth noting that it says not to hang in direct sunlight or high temperatures, which is difficult if hung from a central car mirrors, so keep this in mind. I do think this would work equally well in a small area of your home or bedside a bed.
This is a very different quality from a regular supermarket air freshener and this is reflected in the price. I still think it is very good value for money especially as it comes in a good strong presentation box easy for wrapping.
The packaging for this item is excellent and it would make a lovely gift. There are instructions on the back of the box. The air freshener itself has a nice sandalwood smell and an interesting design with the little blue glass jar and wood. The only thing letting it down is that they’ve used a shoelace as the tie, whereas perhaps some kind of rope or cord would have been more aesthetically fitting.
This is quite an attractive little car air freshener, designed so you can easily hang it from your rear view mirror and adjust the length. It comes nicely presented in a black presentation box. You unscrew the wooden top, prise off the little plastic cap then replace the wooden cap and invert the bottle for a couple of seconds to let the oil flow into the cord and give out the smell. You can do this to refresh the fragrance from time to time. It’s a nice orangey smell and not overly strong. I’ve docked a star because the instructions on the back are in the tiniest print, I can’t even read it with my magnifying reading glasses on! Fortunately this is fairly easy to use but it’s still annoying!
This car air freshener comes well packaged and has the instructions for use on the back of the box. (Although some of the warnings are lost in translation I think haha.)
It’s a fairly pleasant smell and looks very chic.
I’ve read other reviews that said the smell was quite strong to start so I’ve opened it up and left it in my kitchen overnight so that the smell doesn’t overpower the car.

This is a very nice smelling and great looking air freshener, it comes in a smart box. The air freshener is made from a square glass bottle which has the liquid inside and square wooden screw lid, it also has some wooden beads on the thick strong cord to hang the air freshener. The smell is amazing, but not too strong, you open the car door and it smells like a very expensive perfume. It looks very smart when hanging in the car. It is a bit pricey for a air freshener though. You don’t have to just use this in the car, it smells that good you could use this in a wardrobe.
The car air freshener has fruity smell which I closely relate to galia melon
The fragrance is pleasant and didn’t cause me headaches. The fragrance strength was felt more while entering the car which is how most of the car air freshner work like. I could feel the fragrance throughout while driving.
The look and presentation is the best part of this car air freshner is. It comes in well packaged black box. The glass, wood, light copper colour liquid and yellow thread all complement each other and bring a beautiful look.

1. You get the glass, wood and cord air freshener in a nice branded black presentation box, with a magnetic closure.
2. You unscrew the wooden cube shaped top and remove the plastic stopper. Then after replacing the top you turn the whole thing upside down for two seconds to activate.
3. The aroma of this variety is ‘Dawn of love’. I can’t place the scent really – it is slightly sandalwood, fruity and floral, in a way. I thought with a name with ‘Dawn’ in it, it would have more of a fresh smell, although it is not unpleasant and light enough for a small space.
4. I will be using it in a wardrobe and apparently it will last about 45 days.
5. The current price of 9.99 is a little expensive, in my opinion.
