This power supply is a beast. It’s icue compatible so you can see its temperature and the power draw in the icue software. Absolutely silent operation. I never hear the thing. I have a very demanding set up and this power supply doesn’t even flinch. All the cables are modular so you only plug in what you need. I highly recommend it especially if you’re planning on buying corsair fans to.
Hi,
I just received my Corsair HX1500i PSU. But it is disappointing that 12VHPWR Type-4 PSU Power Cable is missing from the packaging as advertised 🙁
I expect it to be delivered separately asap as I need full 600w to my Rtx4090.
Hoping for a prompt response.

Overkill for what I need but it has a ten year guarantee so should be ok if I update system in the future it’s quiet although I do have a humming noise not sure if power supply or case which has plastic feet will try case with rubber feet attached and see if it goes away .
Replaced my old corsair Ax860i psu which had been faultless and still working after 10+ years of service. But it will only last so long so replaced it before it died.
Plenty of power for most applications, and you can see how much power is being drawn and used by the pc, I am not aware of other manufacturers having this capability. The IQ software enables you to control the fan and view all power/current on each line. Yes it is expensive but it is worth buying decent quality for an expensive pc, it’s also competitive compared to others of similar quality. Corsair back this up with a decent warranty. And unlike the no name brands you will be able to contact them in 5 years time should something happen.
One criticism is the screws holding the psu in are tiny, given the weight of modern psu’s this method of fixing needs to be improved, I had the screws pop out during installation. Corsair aren’t alone here as this is a standard atx style fixing that hasn’t changed in many years. It’s also quite big so make sure you have the room.
It is my second power supply by Corsair. My previous one was HX850i. Both are working well. I do not need so much power but because of the quality and that the fan mostly is not spinning (so the power supply is silent) I went for Corsair. I use the HX850 for my server and the HX1000i for my desktop. The ability to check the power consumption is a nice touch. The only problem is the high price but as I put together my own computers, I think that I will not need to buy another power supply in my life as I can reuse it unless they come up with new mainboard connections in the future However, I recommend it.
I noticed that there are only 2 PCIe 8-pin (6+2) connector cables for the GPU. Unfortunately, I don’t have a 40 series so I need 3 of the type 4 cables to satisfy my rx6900xt. I noticed the 1500w version has 3 of these single headed. But the 1000w just 2 and they’re the cables with the y split at the end (don’t look nice nor do they look neat and tidy.
I appreciate the 1500w is more expensive but what’s an extra cable and why have only 2 of the non-aesthetically pleasing y split cables instead. The only real disappointment.
Does what I need it to. It is powering an i9 13900KF and a sapphire pure
GPU and Corsair 150i elite cappelix aio.
Not even getting warm and the fan doesn’t go unless its hot. Copes with everything with ease.
This is one of the best ATX 3.0 platinum rated power supplies available at this price point. It doesn’t have the 12VHPR connection at the power supply side and this is actually a good thing. 12VHPR is being superseded by 12V-26 in the recently announced ATX 3.1 specification. Its highly likely that updated 12V-26 cables will be readily available for this due to the common type 4 standard.
Now onto the bad. Amazon shipped this with no protection whatsoever, the address label was slapped directly onto the product box. There was damage all over it! Really disappointed as I specifically asked customer services to check this would not happen prior to dispatch.
Normally the option to dispatch in Amazon packaging is available but not with the HX1000i. I also ordered a RM1200X shift and that arrived in a nicely protected amazon box in perfect condition. Unfortunately that had a typo on the actually power supply suggesting you can use type 4 cables when only type 5 is supported with the shift.
Initially purchased a 850 but it couldn’t handle the load pushing through it.
Setup is:
AMD Ryzen 9 7900x AM5
64gb DDR 5 6000mhz
Radeon Rx 7900 xt
3 m2 gen 4
1 m2 gen 5
Very nice looking psu (as psus go) and the ability to plug in only the cables that you need is great for space saving.
Comes with all the cables you could ever want.
Very quiet in a small office room. Almost silent.
