Will do what is required if camping out is what you want. For me it is kind of. So the three ion one features are amazing. It hasnt leaked and been some decent showers sso far. Not slept out but can imagine if I had to shelter it would work perfectly.
This is great for any outdoor activities like watching football in the passing rain ! and in scotland we get a lot of that ! I always take it with me in my ruck sack as its easily stored becit folds up nice and neat and keeps you entirely dry and it can be used as a ground sheet ! which I haven’t gone that far with it ! ignore you live in Scotland then this is better than a brolly that just gets wrecked with strong winds !
Paul Messner ( of YouTube) had recommended large ponchos for hiking and covering your backpack in dreadfull weather . However I was looking for a waterproof covering for use on a wheelchair. Let’s just say the designs are not very nice so hence I chose the poncho this had got real solid good reviews and recommended by other wheelchair users . So I bought one . And it has performed perfectly in the two rain events I’ve worn it.
very waterproof material indeed. It’s a great size. Will come right down to your lower shins (I’m 5ft 10″) it also keeps the wind off too and acts to retain just enough heat to keep you warm but as it’s very airy you don’t sweat overly, I pack this every time I head into the mountains now. Almost feels like your own personal tent when it’s heavily raining and i sit down on the trail so it spreads out on the ground and i’m safe inside with the hood up, the only disadvantage I could find was if it’s very windy it can blow about slightly but not enough to let the rain in as the material is pretty heavy. I would recommend to anyone who is in the outdoors often, just a great item to have.
Only used as poncho so far love the weight to it nice quality would have given 5 stars except hood is a bit small only comes to my hairline so rain pours down my forehead and over my glasses
