This ice cube maker is a revelation to me. Once in operation, it produces a ready supply of beautifully formed, cylindrical ice cubes. It is absolutely ideal for ensuring you can enjoy iced drinks on hot summer days, for occasions when you have guests over for drinks, or for making ice cubes if, like me, your freezer is usually too packed to fit ice cube trays in.

The instructions are a little unclear, particularly as to the maximum level in the machine to which you can add water. I just used my common sense in the end and decided it was where the vertical ridge ends. After filling the basin with water up to that level, you then simply switch the machine on, press “Select”, and choose whether you wish to have large or small ice cubes. The machine then does the rest.

Included with the machine are several drawstring plastic bags in which to freeze any spare ice cubes. These are strong and handy. I have found that the ice cubes don’t stick annoyingly together when placed in one of the bags in the freezer.

All in all, this is an excellent product – one of those things that, once you possess it, you don’t know how you lived without it!
