These are well-made tough little converters to change the direction of your USB A sockets by 90 degrees. They allow you to have peripherals like mice to extend straight towards you out of a laptop so as to reduce bends in the cable or allow you to work in a tight space where having the cable stick out perpendicular to the computer is undesirable for any reason. They work very well and have a good snug fit.
I got these to put at the rear of my desktop PC so as to make inserting USB cables a little easier when reaching around into an awkward position with poor visibility. I found that I could only use one at a time in the right-most end socket of my desktop PC because if I fitted one anywhere else then it would cover up any adjacent USB ports.
It’s with noting that both devices have the same directionality, so do a careful check to ensure they match the orientation of your USB sockets. For example, they will both point forwards if fitted to the right side of a laptop as per the advertising photo, but they may both instead point backwards if your laptop has USB ports on the left hand side. My laptop has vertical USB ports on the left which means that these devices point upwards so aren’t really much use in that situation.
