If your child likes Lego Friends then they will love this advent calendar. It’s Lego, so there’s not much to say. Got this on a deal so it was good value for money

Although I am not a particular fan of Lego Friends, this set – and particularly the range of animals – appealed to me. I am halfway through opening it. It is a little flimsier than previous Lego calendars due to reducing waste, but perfectly adequate. The instructions aren’t always the clearest, but given the limited pieces, it is easy enough to work out. So far, it has been a good mix of builds across consecutive days (eg animal one day, scene the next) and quite a good number of pieces. There are a lot of unique reprints of existing pieces so it feels good value and should appeal to a wide audience, child and adult.

But I wish this wasn’t more aimed at girls. Having an animal caring set is actually appreciated by boys toom luckily the purple didn’t put my son off too much. Very simple pieces, not as complex as the harry potter lego calender for example

Small bits of lego you can assemble on each day. Bought for our daughters.
Some items may be just 2 pieces so it could be a very quick build on some days.
Saying that the items are well designed and look detailed.

I do like that the door/flap opens to reveal a playing area for you to play with the Lego.
Not bad for the price but hardly value for money really.
I will now expect to be picking up all the tiny pieces off the floor for the next few months.

Only on day 4, and we have had a snowboarding doll with only one hand, which has led to some rather intense speculation as to the cause of the mishap. Frostbite, perhaps; or was it an accident involving rudolf mistakenly identifying her fingers as carrots. My personal favourite is a snowball savaging her, then going in for another attack.

The poor girl was then very cross about slipping in the snow, having collided with a festive gift from her little dog friend, prompting Rudolph to laugh and say ‘keep your hair on love, it could have been worse, could have been mine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really quite bizarre
