Taste isn’t overpowering and I personally didn’t tell the difference between the woods but it was still impressed!
I own two smoking guns but I ordered this Mixologic set as I like the way it fits on top of glasses and smokes. It can also be used to smoke things other than drinks. It’s less cumbersome than the smoking guns and more straightforward to use.
This Mixologic set is lovely and would be nice to give as a gift. It has everything you need to make smoked drinks. The tins of wood chips are great. You get a fair amount in each one and it’s fab that you get 4 tins.
It works well. Just be careful if you have asthma though as the smoke can get on your chest. Wear a mask.
I recommend this Mixologic set and I think it is worth the money. It is not just for men as the Amazon listing says. It’s also great for women!

Brief summary: what can I say this thing will literally steal the party. If you enjoy mixing drinks as a bit of a side hobby or enjoy, just playing around with drinks yourself such a scotch cocktails this is gonna be right up your alley. As you can see from my video, I was able to smoke quite an entry-level whiskey in less than a minute and a half and the flavour was noticeably different.
Safety : one thing I wanted to point out during my video, was that after heating up the wood, and placing the dome over the top of the embers to snuff them out, allowing the smoke to continue circulating, everything else is perfectly safe to touch, including the lower region, which you think would at least be a bit warm. But in fact everything was perfectly fine, in fact, less than a few seconds after being use, I was easy able to remove the wire basket from inside and rinse it out in the sink using the brush provided.
Flavours: I definitely recommend the more woody flavours. Certainly when you’re working with scotch, the cherry flavour and pecan flavour I think was more suitable for vodkas or gin and tonics, perhaps even mojitos.
As a gift: this would be absolute fantastic for anyone at Christmas birthday anniversary. It’s just a great deal of fun to play with simple quick effective. It looks very smart in the box. I’m a duck at home in Eddie cocktail cabinet, even the box that it comes in which has mixer logic cocktail smoker on the front looks aesthetic and professional.
Lifetime: I suppose my only concern would be that overtime. The metal word begin to degrade due to the temperature that it’s under, and when it’s washed, the word, didn’t send it all, even with the Torch that I used on it, just this my obviously happened due to accident, but I can’t see effect in the function of the product.
Size: I use this on a regular whiskey glass, but the rim of the saucer is actually pretty wide, and could go onto some quite a large tumblers, which I use for mojitos.
Over all: I can’t stress enough, how much I really enjoyed having a go with this and I’m sure I’ll be using a great deal in the future and showing at the party is just how cool advices enjoy!

We didn’t have one at first so had to pick one up from on here. My other half loves his whisky and has tried all the flavours and seems to like them all his personal preference is for the pecan one but i kind of like the cherry one.
Make sure you do this in a well ventilated area too as the smell is quite strong when you do it.
All in all this is a decent little set for people like us who have never done this before and fancy a nice change and i think for the price asked its really fairly priced.

Got this and went to use it not realising there’s nothing to light it with and nobody smoked so had to go to the shops and get a lighter even then after several fingers burnt it finally was lit and placed as per the instructions on a glass of whisky, the top of the glass was really smoky and I tried all the different woods but the taste wasn’t much different than without the smoke only the smell in the room reminded me of when we had a log burner. This would be a good novelty item to have going at a party
