    2 criminals and a young woman get caught up in murder leaving dead bodies behind them as a manhunt begins. Excellent criminally underrated 90’s film noir thriller with excellent performances from Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton and Cinda Williams in a masterclass of slow build tension leading to a thrilling climax. Excellent restored 4K picture too.

    Having watched this on the fabulous 4k criterion edition twice so far, I can very happily conclude that this gripping Noir thriller from black director Carl Franklin hooked me in on many levels.
    With superb performances, especially from Bill Paxton and Cynda Williams ( who balances her lost, emotionally vulnerable character who gets caught up with the wrong people in the wrong situation perfectly).
    For me it also has an emotional punch which brought a tear to my eye on more than one occasion. This emotional depth which comes more into the second half is what sets this superb, tightly knit thriller apart from the usual mundane Hollywood thriller fare which was abundant at the time.
