OXO 60 Beef Stock Cubes Made With Authentic Meat Juices, 378

Tired of being sent out of the house because my spouse had forgotten to buy these flavour cubes, I resolved to bulk buy off amazon. We now have enough to last us until I’m dead, thus saving the planet from my repeated car trips to the local store. I could mention all the recipes we’ve used them for but the reality is – they’re for beef products and don’t do well (for instance) crushed up on cornflakes or as an adventurous topping for ice-cream. I don’t believe they are a knock off version from some far eastern county because they still taste beefy but what so I know? – the price was right and I can now go back to laying on the couch whilst my spouse makes the beef based recipes taste that little bit beefier.

I can’t get over how good these are! They were fine in my soya and black bean chilli but I realised just how much like “real beef” they are last night when I made a vegetable stew. To me, they add a gloriously rich flavour and a fabulous deep colour. I’ve not eaten meat in very many years, so beyond knowing that I was incredibly impressed with the end flavour, I couldn’t judge their “beefiness”. My husband did that for me though; he has this thing for Oxo beef stock cubes and likes making Oxo drinks… But he will also eat them raw (yes, I know, it’s bizarre to me too)! He wanted to see if they were like the beef ones and took a corner to taste. He says they are exactly the same in flavour!

So I guess that the only thing that would be lacking in getting that “real meat” flavour when using these, would be the real meat itself! Because the vegan beef stock cubes are incredibly good and incredibly like the real beef ones.

Well done Oxo – this is something we needed and there was a gap in the market for.
