TX-43MX800B 43 inch, LED, 4K HDR Smart TV

  1. A brilliant TV experience

Fire TV is your smart home hub. Pair with compatible smart home devices to see live camera feeds, use Airplay, control your lighting and thermostat and more – all on your TV.

  2. A wide range of colours for a natural picture

Our models with HDR Bright Panel Plus screens produce a wide range of colours for a natural picture. LED backlighting provides consistent brightness across the screen, and is controlled to increase contrast. Resulting in TVs with good HDR performance.

  3. Big screen entertainment with sound to match

Surround sound – open up the soundstage to make the soundtrack feel as involving as the big screen action. Sound helps draw you into what you’re watching to feel more involved with the story.

  4. Broad compatibility with HDR formats

Multi HDR Format – by supporting all HDR (High Dynamic Range) formats our premium TVs assure best possible performance – regardless of picture source. Brightness and colour are optimised scene-by-scene; whether the source is Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10 or the new HDR10+ format.

Dolby, Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos and the double-D symbol are registered trademarks of Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corporation.

  5. More listening choices via easy connecting Bluetooth

With Bluetooth Audio Link, you can easily connect your TV to a wireless speaker or headphones – to give you more listening choices.

On-screen gaming action

Game Mode – select Game Mode using the TV remote. It reduces input lag – so the on-screen action reacts instantly to your commands.

Compared to my other TV’s, this Panasonic 4K TV is surprisingly lighter and is more thinner, which saves more space on my desk.

This TV has the Fire OS built in, making it simple to navigate. The menu is very responsive and doesn’t have that slight delay in moving between options compared to other menus.
All the popular viewing apps (Prime Video, Netflix, YouTube etc..) are readily available.
The remote also has dedicated buttons for Prime Video and Netflix, making it quick and easy to open them up.

Picture quality is really good – crisp and sharp with no dead pixels. Colours stand out nicely, especially with the different picture modes (cinema mode was brilliant).

Sound was better than I expected too, but I still much prefer using my sound bar with the TV.

There are plenty of ports on the back for those who want to connect devices such as their games consoles, viewing boxes etc (4x HDMI ports).

For gaming, this is a good option – consoles such as a PS5 run fairly smoothly and suits the casual gamer. However, it wouldn’t be a good option for those who play competitively. Compared to a gaming monitor, there are noticeable differences that can impact gameplay, such as the refresh rate.

It is currently priced at 390, which for a 43″ 4K TV is quite a bit higher than the average. Even though its a great TV, I don’t think this is the best value for money.

Overall, I think this is a solid 4K TV – good picture quality, sound and features. The only downside for me is its pricing point, but other than that, I’m very pleased with the way it performs.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my first time owning a Panasonic TV and I have to say that this would be a brand I defintely look into again when choosing a new TV.
The TV was remarkably easy to set up with channels (Freeview) and WiFi set up done within minutes not to mention the Bluetooth pairing of a sound bar.
What I really love about this is the built in fire tv stick tech rather than having to use a separate peripheral and the remote control is voice interaction, cutting down on separate remote controls.
There is also dedicated buttons on the remote rather than having to search for a given app which makes selecting streaming platforms that bit easier and quicker.
This is the 43inch version and the picture and sound quality are far superior to our older TV (from another brand which claimed that it was also 4K UHD) which is larger at 55inch.
Connecting a gaming system and the TV optimises the picture into game mode which compliments the system and has been giving a much better picture than our previous TV.
The TV features all the usual input ports such as HDMI, USB as well as TV aerial input for Freeview users. There is also a common interface but this tends to be negligible for most users.
Size wise and the TV is pretty thin and port locations are well placed to make it easy to sit the TV flush to the wall if you’re wall mounting it and isn’t heavy at all.
It took me a little while to get used to the remote control as I’ve been so used to the remote from our other brand TV but this is just something that comes naturally through trial and effort. Eventually it feels intuitive enough to use without having to look at the remote much. Almost like a subliminal skill that one acquires lol.
I think it’s well priced at just under 400 at time of review and is definitely a great choice for a new TV and definitely one to consider when making a choice.
What had me sold was the in-built fire TV and the fact that I can also link this with my ring doorbell too (something I couldn’t do with my old smart TV)
It also features the auto source change with the hdmi arc port for my PS4 which automatically switches to the gaming channel when I turn the PS4 on.
I’m impressed with this TV from Panasonic and would definitely give them a second look when we next need a TV.
Colours are good with various picture options and very good blacks. Sound is quite impressive too on its own and although we linked this to a sound bar, most times we don’t need it on with a good amount of bass when watching YouTube and music videos.
Again sound can be altered with various sound settings to suit most users taste.
If I’d seen this in a store and compared with other TVs of similar price I think I would have walked out with this brand for sure.
This is a very good choice and I love the Alexa and fire TV functionality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have several TVs in the home, they are all smart TVs and I got them each for their own specific functions and features. This is however my first Fire TV, I do have a few Firesticks but haven’t really used one for a while as I prefer using my Nvidia Shields over them due to the streaming speeds and quality over them. However this Fire TV has made a really good impression on me, and it’s really good to see how while the software and features have improved over the last 2 years.

Now with regards to the physical Panasonic TV: I was very surprised as to just how light it is, it was super easy to unbox, connect the feet and setup into our preferred location, but just to add to this it can also be mounted if needed. Even though it feels light, it still feels well-made and of decent quality. Once turned on and connected to my WIFI it did require an update, getting to the main menu did take a bit of time and will require an account setting up to use the smart features, but this is pretty standard these days and would assume most people would already have an account for their other devices.

There are a decent amount of device connections, the mains ones for me being:
    4x HDMI (1x eARC)
    2x USB ports
    1x Optical Audio
    1x Ethernet
    1x 3.5mm Headphone Jack

The picture quality is as expected; both the brightness and colours look great and movies and shows look very good in 4K Ultra HD. I like that it switches the picture mode automatically when you switch to other devices, like game mode for gaming consoles. The sound quality is much better than expected, it sounds better than others we have used but we still opted to use a soundbar.

The software is really straightforward and user friendly to use as most people are more than likely already using it or have done so in the past on a Firestick. You get all the main streaming apps and you still have the option to sideload apps the same way you would on a firestick if this is something you’ve done in the past. One thing I really do like is that Alexa is built in, we already have 3 Alexa devices dotted around the house and this makes it really convenient as she is already part of the family.

Overall, I feel this is a decent all in one Smart TV, it has a lot going for it and if you looking for a new or a replacement this might be a great option.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersFor a well-known brand I was expecting top-notch quality with this television and I’m not disappointed! The clarity and picture is superb!

This 43″ flat screen television is 965 mm wide and the height of the screen is 566 mm. It’s slim-screened but will need a 219 mm depth to accommodate the legs. There are 2 silver metal legs rather than a central one and they split the weight from the front to the back. The legs screw on and are simple enough to do, but make sure your television cabinet or stand is of an adequate size to safely position them. (Our stand wasn’t suitable for the legs, so we set the TV up the spare room for a week whilst the new stand arrived ).
Including the legs, the clear height you need for this television is 617 mm. It’s not crucifyingly heavy for such a large screen either which is nice, yet it’s sturdy and stable.

This latest generation Fire TV is equipped to deal with Prime Video, Alexa, and all the usual stuff and will pair with other smart home devices too. It also collects all of your favourite apps and channels and places them on the home screen too which is useful.
There’s a remote and batteries included and the TV connects to the Wi-Fi easily.
It’s an ultra HD 4K screen, which to me means high definition and great resolution with a great picture qualtity and that it certainly is! The picture is clear with vivid colour and the sound is brilliant!

One of the first things I check for on TV is the ports on the back and this one has several HDMI ports (4) and 2 USB ports, as well as the standard aerial and ethernet points.
There are too many variables that you can choose on the settings to describe, but I will mention the various viewing modes as they are always good to have (dynamic, cinema etc),which I do feel makes a difference.
One other thing that is good to know for any gamers, (we have a couple in our house), is that there is a specific gamer mode which speeds up any lag, making a difference during gameplay (my son confirms this).

I haven’t had chance to appreciate or use all of the apps or capabilities offered on this TV as yet and the chance of even getting a look in half the time is rare (even less so now than before!), but it is a crisp, clear picture and delivers wonderful immersive sound.

Slightly more expensive than many televisions of this size, but the build quality, make and capability of this TV speaks for itself.
Very, very nice and fully recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb picture quality!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is a really great quality TV. It spookily arrived on the same day that our previous TV screen decided to start breaking down! Anyway, this TV is really easy to setup. It was literally out of the box and ready to go in less than 5 minutes so transition between TVs was seamless. It’s well packaged inside the box and is surprisingly lightweight so is easy to lift out and setup. It comes with two legs which are really easy to screw in if you’re not hanging the TV on a bracket. Then you just plug the TV in sync it with your internet let it do a quick update and you’re good to go. The TV quality is amazing. The picture is so good. I’m really impressed with the sound too. My son has been using it with his PS 5 and he’s really impressed with the visual gameplay. It has a good number of HDMI ports so you can plug in a variety of devices at one time. The user interface is straightforward and easy to use. Overall a really good well priced TV.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI initially used this as an upgrade to my existing 43″ Samsung 4K tv that I’ve had for a few years now. But I decided to use it as my main computer monitor, due to how well the panel was able to handle finer details, such as text, etc.
For context, my normal computer monitor setup consists of a 32″ 1440p monitor, with a portrait 27″ 1080p monitor to the left, 2 x 1440p monitors to the right and my work laptop, also 1440p.

The aim was to have this TV at 4k in the centre, my 32″ 1440p in portrait to the left and my work laptop.
I gain more screen real-estate, while removing the need to have so many monitors (yes I would love more, but space is at a premium).

This was all a great success.

    For the TV image itself:

    * This model employs Panasonic;s HCX processor, which handles all the modern picture tech we all expect “multi-format HDR support, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ both deliver scene-by-scene mastering for the truest, most accurate HDR picture technology”.
    * As I also game on my PC, paired with a Nvidia RTX 4090, the gaming experience was sublime. No, this isn’t an OLED panel, but it looks fantastic and will last a lot longer (burn in, I’m looking at you).
    * Also from gaming, I don’t personally care about high refresh rate. As long as I can achieve 60fps at any resolution, I’m happy.

    Audio:

    * The TV is “thiiiccc”… So Panasonic could fit in some chonky speakers, compared to the paper thin TVs that are also on the market. 2 x 10W speakers
    * No, I would still prefer my surround sound, etc. but if all you were planning to use were a sound-bar, this is as good as some basic sound-bars.
    * If you do want to connect external audio, as with the video tech in the TV, eArc, etc. works fantastic too.
    * Even comes with Bluetooth and Airplay.

    Operating System:

    * Have a FireTV stick? This will look and feel identical. From what I can tell, it’s basically the same operating system.

    Remote:
    * Remote has all the buttons you’d expect, including a few additional shortcuts
    * My remote came with batteries

    Assembly:
    * The stand can only be installed one way, so it’s very easy to get it right.
    * If you want to wall-mount, VESA 200 x 200

    Energy Efficiency:
    * This is NOT an efficient panel at all.
    * 0.5W standby
    * 52w per kWh/1000h or 105w per kWh/1000h
    * Energy rating G

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersThis TV is part of the 2023 range from Panasonic. It’s very difficult to unpack where this sits in the range of Panasonic TVs it’s a real mishmash of numbers and letters but I’ll try to summarize the key points below:
The 950 series are the mini led flagship series,
the mx800 series are the LED Fire TV.
Lx800 are the all the android LED TVs.
The 600 series appear to have panasonics own operating system with an option of wide legs or a single stand

This TV has a 43 inch diagonal viewing area with 4K resolution and HDR: Dolby vision HLG and HDR 10.

This TV is supplied with Separate feet 4-point style let’s which are easily attached using the supplied screws. They are handed but are poke-yoke.

This TV has 62 cm leg spacing
Vesa mount spacing is vesa 200
    Overall dimensions incl legs is 96cm W x 62cm H x 22cm T (7cm T without legs)

This TV users a standard “figure 8” power connector which is good as I don’t like brand specific connectors…. this enables you to use any replacement lead should you need to.

There are a whole host of connections which are:
    1x opical audio out
    1x ethernet
    2x usb
    2x aerial ports
    4x hdmi (1x eARC)
1x AV in (no idea what this is for)
    1x headphone jack
    1x common interface

The most useful of all these connections is the one eARC HDMI port which will be used for sound bars and other AV connections.

This TV uses Fire TV OS, this interface is surprisingly good!
I’m a Big fan of the fire TV interface I’ve been using a fire stick daily for many years so this feels right at home it’s much better than the Google TV interface which frankly was dreadful in the early days. This also has more functionality then the TV brand operating systems.

The Fire TV OS is Set up via app or remote and took 5-10mins for an update.

There’s no inbuilt network functionality I guess this could be added by downloading the appropriate app from the Amazon app store. For example if you had family video stored on a network connected drive there’s no way for you to access these without downloading a third party app.

    Picture quality
I tested the image using YouTube 4k test footage and I’m happy to say that the picture quality was excellent detailed with vibrant colors and good contrast. Not got to the standard of an OLED screen but certainly good for standard LED backlight TVs.
Using Netflix content the Dolby vision content really stood out and TV shows such as altered carbon look excellent if not breathtaking. There’s no light bleed at the edges and good screen uniformity this is a good quality panel.

This TV has Dolby Atmos built in which I don’t fully understand as it only has stereo speakers. As always with flat screen TVs the sound was very thin with no base but had reasonable detail especially for vocals. Overall the sound is no better or worse than what you’d find in most flat screen TVs.

The supplied IR Remote feels really nice in the hand…. It’s nothing fancy but is functional and does the job well it’s well laid out and has a inbuilt voice function whichworks much like an Fire TV remote.

This TV has no Picture in Picture function which is a shame.

I’m using this TV as a huge PC monitor which is a real extravagance. Close up the downside of this are really noticeable pixelation is obvious but the backlight and the LCD elements of the panel are separated by some distance which is only noticeable close-up but effects how this performs as a PC monitor.

What I can’t quite understand is the pricing strategy for this TV. This is the latest generation of 43 inch LED TV from Panasonic at an RRP of 600 pounds……but the previous gen 650 series can be purchased for 200 pounds less (although this is not a fire TV). Indeed you can buy 43 inch 4K UHD TVs from the likes of LG and Samsung for under 400 quid, and although I cannot comment on the picture quality of these TVs, is it worth paying to 200 extra for the Fire TV interface when you could just purchase a fire TV stick if you insisted on it? Overall I feel like this TV is a little overpriced compared to the competition.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent latest gen FireTV... but what's that? And is it worth it?

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersThe Panasonic TX-43MX800B is an extraordinary 43-inch 4K Ultra HD Drove Brilliant television that conveys a superior survey insight. As a pleased proprietor of this television for the beyond couple of days, I’ve been entirely intrigued by its exhibition and list of capabilities.

The 4K Ultra HD goal is really exceptional. The varieties are striking, and the picture quality is perfectly clear, rejuvenating everything about it. The expansion of High Unique Reach (HDR) improves the difference and makes for a genuinely vivid encounter. Whether you’re watching films, messing around, or streaming your number one shows, the image quality is basically first-class.

With Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision support, the varying media experience is taken to a higher level. The sound quality is remarkable, with clear exchange and vivid-encompassing sound. You can feel the profundity and extravagance of the sound, particularly while watching content that upholds these innovations. It resembles having a performance centre in your lounge room.

This television accompanies Fire television worked in, making it unimaginably advantageous to get to all your #1 web-based features like Prime Video, Netflix, and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. The included Alexa voice control remote works well and adds another degree of accommodation to your survey insight. Voice orders for looking through satisfied, changing settings, and, surprisingly, controlling savvy home gadgets work consistently.

The television’s smooth dark plan is both present-day and rich. It accompanies a 2-foot platform that gives dependability and adds a classy touch to your living space. The television is not difficult to set up and feels great constructed, guaranteeing it will keep going into the indefinite future.

The Panasonic TX-43MX800B offers an assortment of network choices, including numerous HDMI and USB ports, as well as implicit Wi-Fi and Ethernet for issue-free web access. Whether you need to interface your gaming console, soundbar, or different gadgets, you’ll track down a lot of choices.

The Panasonic TX-43MX800B 43 Inch 4K Ultra HD Drove Savvy television is a phenomenal expansion to any home diversion arrangement. It consolidates shocking picture and sound quality with an easy-to-use interface, voice control, and a smooth plan. The consideration of Fire television, Prime Video, Alexa, and Netflix support makes it a total diversion bundle. On the off chance that you’re searching for a top-level 43-inch television in 2023, this one ought to be at the first spot on your list. It’s a buy you will love.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is the first TV I’ve used with fire TV built in. It functions exactly the same as a firestick so if you’ve ever used one of those you’ll be right at home. If it’s your first smart TV then the menus and functions are very intuitive so it shouldn’t be too daunting.

Picture quality – Brightness and colours look decent. There’s some small light bleed from the corners and side which you would expect from an LED TV. It’s nothing that would distract from normal viewing. TV shows and films look very good in 4k UHD with the dolby vision automatically kicking in when watching dolby enabled content so you don’t have to mess with the picture settings to get the best viewing experience..

It handles gaming well and switches the picture mode to ‘Game’ automatically when you switch the hdmi to a playstation or other games console then switches it back to your normal setting when you turn it off. It’s really intuitive.

Sound quality – The one thing I like with LED panels over thinner and more expensive OLED / QLED TVs is the sound quality is always far better. This fire TV is no exception with very good sound quality and clear dialogue. You can connect it to a soundbar or external speakers but the sound is good enough that you don’t need to.

Design – The bezels at the front are really thin which gives the TV a premium look. The legs at the bottom are easy to fix with 4x screws. They’re clearly labelled and can only fit one way so they’re well designed. There’s quite a large bevel at the back of the TV but it’s not too intrusive and if you find yourself regularly looking at the back of the TV then you may have installed it the wrong way round.

Connectivity – Around the back it has 4x HDMI ports with one eARC supported, 2x USB ports, 1x aerial in, 1x satellite in, ethernet port, optical out, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 3.5mm AV mini jack. All the ports are located on the right hand side when looking at the screen with the power cable on the left hand side. The power cable is quite short at 1.5 meters so if you dont have a power socket very close you will likely need an extension cable. The power cable isn’t hard wired so you could pick up a 2.5A 250v figure of 8 cable at a longer length if needed.

If you’re wall mounting, the VESA holes are 200 x 200 which is fairly standard for this size of TV. It’s not particularly heavy so can be lifted by one person relatively easily, although I’d recommend at least 2 people to wall mount it.

Connectivity via WiFi is straightforward which can be done by putting your WiFi password in via the remote or through your phone via the Fire TV app. Bluetooth pairs and connects quickly and playback via a Bluetooth speaker or headphones is clear with no delay between sound and picture. As it has Amazon fire TV built in it connects seamlessly to other amazon products you may have. It synced with my amazon account instantly and pulled all my apps and log in info from my current firestick.

Software – As mentioned the TV has Fire TV built in which is straightforward to use. You don’t get the range of third party apps as you do on Google TV however all the main streaming apps are included so it should be fine for the majority of people. You can sideload apps to the TV in the same way you can on a firestick if you’re more tech savvy. The TV guide is handled by freeview play and it was incredibly quick to search and store channels. It was up and running in under a minute. Scrolling through the TV guide was quick with no pauses or delays.

Misc.- The remote is easy to use with dedicated buttons for Netflix, amazon prime and freeview play. There’s alexa built in where you hold down the mic button and provide a command. It worked well and handled instructions to play certain shows in certain apps without any issues. I really like the addition of the apps button to take you to your installed apps list along with a dedicated customisable button to open any app of perform a set function. You can even program it to provide a command to alexa.

It’s a decent all in one smart TV. If you’re used to using a firestick or have a ring doorbell or other smart devices then it’s a good option.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good option from Panasonic
