Where should I install the unit?

We recommend installing the unit either in the kitchen, or alternatively, where you notice the rodent activity.

These units are ideal for use with our plug-in repellers – in areas where there are no power sockets (like lofts/attics, garages etc)

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have tried so many various products to allow then to leave without being killed however the remains and multiplied
Research this product and purchase and wow!!! They did remin much longer. Ensure not too enclosed as unable to onhear It. I also move the location regularly to prevent them getting used to it.
    Definitely recommend this product!!

Goid product as i have never come across a battery operated one before, because of lack of sockets this came in handy, whether it works or not i can’t say yet due to not seeing any critters, hopefully its working.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI tried this for a couple of very brave rats which seem to like our patio. I didn’t want to kill them just deter them from being near the house.
First day of using the unit, the rat was actually sat underneath it looking pretty damn chilled! However 4-5 days on, no rats at all.so it seems to have worked a treat. Ypu have to keep the unit in a dry place so we have it under a window sill and it seems to have been very effective so far. I would highly recommend if you want a humane deterrent, and not a kill product or trap. It doesn’t effect the dogs or birds, but the squirrels are pretty unimpressed and dont tend to visit to steal the bird food as frequently, so win win.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersWe have heard ‘visitors’ in the loft of our large country house for some years now, and have no idea how they get in or out. We have never been able to catch anything with traps, and it seems ‘longtails’ in particular are too smart for humans and don’t fall for traps and suchlike. We didn’t want to use poison as we would rather they didn’t die anywhere in the house that we couldn’t get to! Anyhow, we put several of these in the loft, near to the loft access hatches, and have never heard a peep since.

I was slightly sceptical at first, suspecting the box didn’t actually do anything, but testing with a sound level meter shows there is quite a powerful chirp every eight second or so, at about 68 dB half a metre away, although this is perfectly inaudible to all of the family.

My only disappointment is that these devices use a pair or expensive PP3 batteries rather than AA cells, which are cheaper and last much longer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well they seem to work.

How can I tell after only 1 week when it is supposed to take 3 weeks for the rats to leave! Two young rats were frolicking around the sonic repellent which they had turned over so I suppose the sound was heading skywards so I suggest one fixes the thing to something solid.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt would seem that the neighbourhood squirrel is now visiting my greenhouse and whilst I have no problems with them being outside, inside is my domain.

I wasn’t sure whether this would work or not but decided to give it a try and to be honest the activity has greatly reduced. I suspect I may have one that is completely deaf but it has certainly helped deter them.

I will say I have now coupled it with a couple of other methods and I hope that the critter will get the message.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis device was easy to deploy; just insert the battery and it’s ready. I just placed it inside the loft hatch and the job was done.
The only downside is there is no indication that it was operating. Even my children couldn’t hear anything.
Still, it did the job. The pests were gone within a couple of days. They came back briefly, but soon moved on.

The mice in my attic have been driving me mad and poison is doing nothing so I got this and so far it seems to be working! There are still mice in my attic but they have all moved to the other end of my flat away from where i sleep so thats a win! Shall get another one for the other end when i have more money 🙂

So far so good… or coincidence . Put this in my loft due to a 4leg not so cute furry problem that was coming into my loft from my neighbour. I haven’t heard a peep from about day 3 of it being up there. As far as aware the problem is still in their loft but doesn’t like coming across. I have placed it flat on the floor and as close as possible to the joining wall where nothing is stored.

Golden Review Award: 32 From Our UsersIt looks cheaper than it costs, and I was very sceptical after seeing the poor reviews. However, in a rented property where the landlord is doing nothing to fix the foundations where they have come in to nest I am at my wits end so thought I would try.The rats have nested under the ground floor but at night run riot through the cavity walls and loft spaces – its sleepless nights all round. Its been 2 nights since I put these into the loft spaces and so far both nights have been quiet upstairs! Hooray! The little buggers are still hanging our under the groundfloor floorboards BUT at least we can sleep at night without hearing the little so and sos pllaying hide and seek by our heads. Whether it will last I don’t know – but honestly, I’m glad I tried them, however long they work.

We had mice pretty much all the time in our attic, and they were an increasing nuisance. Traps didn’t work (we caught the mice, but more moved in); poison didn’t work (the mice learned to avoid it); and I really didn’t want a cat living in my attic.
Since we put this device in, we still get mice for a few weeks in mid winter (the cold is probably more than they can take outside), but they move out again as soon as the snow melts.
The mouse repeller obviously makes a place unattractive to mice – which is what it says it does. It’s more convenient, and safer, than traps or poison (and more humane too).
Our mouse issue isn’t entirely resolved, but it isn’t much of a problem anymore.

Golden Review Award: 33 From Our UsersThe house suddenly had a lot of night-time scuffling, chewing and droppings, so I ordered one of these mains-free repellers. I put it down in my mother’s room the day it arrived, and I also bought a different brand plug-in device for the lounge to deter mice from getting in through the fireplace. (I will dot a few other brands around the house as well this week, so no mice ever get comfortable.) Some mice seem to have been dislodged, so it looks like at least one of the two repellers is working. The cats brought us more dead mice than usual the day I put the devices down. I suspect some mice have pups and will take time to leave. I’m happy to see that the sound doesn’t trouble the cats one bit. The leaflet with one of the repellers, I forget which it was, said that cats can’t hear it.

So far I have the following feeling about this device:
No surprise if mice with babies stay to raise them.
No surprise if the place immediately gets lots of mice running around, they probably come out of their nests because of the noise.
No surprise if hungry little mice just block their ears and go for bait, if there is any bait nearby.
No surprise if mice get used to the sound after a while.

I’ll update in September or so, because either this was an amazingly fast result, or there are more mice lurking in the wall cavities.

Update in September: Looks like we got an amazingly fast result. No mice in the house now, so I moved the battery repeller to the shed, where there’s no electricity, about a month ago. No mice in the shed either, not that I ever saw any in the first place. On the down side, the little frog that I saw a few times in the shed seems to have moved out.

Firstly this arrived very fast, within 48 hours with the FREE delivery option too! great.

Once i opened this product, it literally is just a plastic disc with a speaker and an LED in the middle, underneath, there is a battery compartment which rotates open, and I thought i’d make a point of plugging in the battery in front of my two cats just to see what the reaction would be . . . NONE, they just looked at me as if i was mad and carried on eating their food, but it does say that it only emits frequency from 25Hz to 26Hz which apparently only rodents and insects can hear.

I also Shined a very bright torch on to the speaker to see if I could see it flutter every 4 seconds, but i did not, at this frequency there would probably be very little movement in the speaker anyway.

I have placed this device in my loft, all be it a Frisbee with a red LED, or a scientific marvel!?!?

time will tell. . i hope to sleep in my own bed tonight

Update: – 2 weeks later and…. NO NOISES IN THE LOFT! so this must be due to this new device.
I did almost think the rodent came back one night, but it almost sounded like it walked in the loft, and then turned around and walked straight back out again, possibly due to this device.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHad a family of bank voles with babies seemingly under the shed, but couldn’t see exactly where.
Put the unit in expecting it to take up to four weeks for them to leave because such creatures apparently won’t leave until the young are ready to leave the nest.
In the days that followed they were restless, going in and out a lot.
Moved the unit closer to them, and did not see them for weeks.
Moved the unit back to the original location in the shed giving wider cover, voles again seen going in and out.
Moved the unit back to the closer point, have not seen them since.
The unit therefore seems to be effective provided it is placed as near as possible and in direct line with where the creatures are coming and going.
Recommended as an effective way of dealing with such where there is no electricity supply.
