These walkie talkies have a lot of features including voice activation and hands free use. There is also a small led torch on each. They are supplied with a USB-A to double USB-C cable for charging.

I have tested them up to 2kim line of sight and 1 km through a built up area. They worked well over these distances. They may well work over greater distances but I didn’t have the opportunity to check yet.

I would probably describe these as occasional amateur use devices. The marketing presents them as “Professional” but I can’t see these being up to scratch for regular use in a working environment. There is no mention of any waterproofing and they are made of what feels like cheaper end plastic with no rubberised bumpers or protection. I suspect that if you dropped this on a hard surface, it wouldn’t fair too well.

They would be useful for family use at a large open air event or on a large campsite or at a festival. You could perhaps use them to locate which aisle your partner is in at the supermarket.

They do work but there are similar devices out there at a more reasonable price so, as always, shop around.

I can’t deny it, I’ve had a pretty fun time playing with these with my daughter. She takes one outside to her playhouse and we can chat whenever she wants.

For more practical uses though, these would be great for events, or in areas where there’s no mobile signal. What’s really great about them is the standby battery life. I left them switched on for a few days and they were still going, which means you can leave them turned on for days, and will always be able to hear people.

The volume is as loud as you’d want, but it can get a little crackly at the top end. The calling feature is nice too, letting you “ring” the other talkie to get the other person’s attention.

There’s the usual privacy codes that you’d expect, allowing you to talk more privately if you’re in an area with a lot of talkie traffic.

The only thing I thought didn’t work well was the VOX setting. It’s supposed to activate the transmission when it hears you talking, that way you don’t need to press to talk, but I found that regardless of which sensitivity setting is selected, it activates a little too late so the first few words are missed, and sometimes cuts in and out.

In terms of range, this is pretty hard to test, and is going to differ for everyone. We tested them across the fields near where we live, I’m not sure how far that was but the audio was clear. If I had to guess, it was about 1km.

If you’re looking for another way to keep in touch with a person or group, or are just looking to have some fun with the kid, these will do a great job.

These are a pair of high quality walkie talkies. The main purpose for why I got these was for road trips. If you have watched top gear, you will know that having walkie talkies is the best way to communicate if you are driving in a convoy with friends in separate cars. I have done just that with these and they performed exactly how I wanted them to.

In the box, you get a usb cable for charging, a pair of walkie talkies, and an instruction manual. There are a lot of options to customise your experience, such as muting the beep when you release the trigger. The walkie talkies charge via usb-c which is perfect as you can simply use most phone chargers to charge them. The range of these are really good, and I have not had any issues from my experience although I haven’t pushed these to their limits which I believe is 10km.

If you are looking at getting these for recreational purposes, I would highly recommend them!

These small Komvox walkie-talkies are chargeable via USB-C, which is easier than keeping a lot of batteries on hand. They support 16 channels and also have a privacy code function built-in that discourages from listening in (I believe this works by playing a specific low tone along with the voice, so that sender and receiver need to be set the same). Straightforward push-to-talk function means that you hardly need a manual (although there is one).

Not perfect but does it’s job reasonably well

First of all, the overall design of the walkie-talkie is appealing and the structure is durable but smooth. Furthermore, the buttons are easy to press and clearly labelled with their functions. In addition, it is easy to charge the product since it has a USB-C port and you can also connect a headset it since it has a headphone jack port. Personally, I like how there is a clip allowing you to attach it on the side of your waist, along with the LED light at the top which can act as both a flashlight and a charge indicator.
The speaker on the walkie-talkie is good and can be very clear depending on how close you are to the other person. However, if you are too far away or if there are objects between you, then the sound will become more muffled and fuzzy.
It worked quite well on the same deck of the cruise ship ‘Britannia’ although the range was substantially reduced because of the steel structure of the ship.
Finally the system is also quite complex and would be quite hard to understand for the people using it for the first time.

We have used these on our narrow boat holiday and they were invaluable for locks and instructions at a distance and ordering a brew, if we picked up talking from factories on the canal we just changed channels.
The light was useful as well and in 5 days of daily use we have not had to charge them up, the charging wire was a split one so you can charge both at the same time which was well thought out.
A good price and easy to hold and a clip on the back to fix to your belt and a hole for a lanyard if you have one.

Have done a small field test on these in our local woods, they seem to work quite well for a little while and then when more tree coverage, we lost total contact, then brief words would come though, but we were unable to respond. So only worked one way. Even that was temperamental.

Suspect they would be great over line of sight on a beach or perhaps wide open spaces with NO tree coverage. But in fairness that is explained on the item page, They do say that they would work 5 miles in woodland, but I would be doubtful of that. But as I haven’t been a long hike with them I am unable to say for sure, But we certainly were not 5 miles apart from each other when we lost contact.

The “Super bright LED” isn’t. It is suggested on the page that you can use it to see your way, I very much doubt that as it is just a single LED, That’s not to say you couldn’t use it to locate things in your backpack or waist pack. But in no way replaces a torch.

The instructions aren’t that easy to follow although we did manage to set everything up before we took them out on a walk, but the functionality just isn’t there. You can’t switch channels easily while out, unless you actually remember how many times you need to press the menu key to access that particular function.

But credit where credit is due, they seem to be of fairly decent quality, the sound quality when you are talking is great, the ease to call someone and have a conversation is fine. I certainly will be taking them on some longer distanced hikes over open fields and less wooded areas. So perhaps when I have done that I will do another review, but 1st use over a very short distance I wasn’t impressed with how quickly we lost each other.. Good job we knew where we were going and could get back.

I think as a back up to using your mobiles if you are out walking and get separated they would be fine, but not as your only comms device.

For kids playing in the woods together, these would be just perfect. Wish I had something like that when I was a kid.. and you certainly would be hard pushed to lose them as the bright yellow is a really good touch. What you need with items like this is the ability to find them when out and about.

4.0 out of 5 stars as a back up to using your mobile, they would be fine, but not as your only comms device.

Ordered these for the kids to play with at home, but also on a forthcoming camping holiday.

The units are well built – slightly larger than other walkie talkies – particularly with the oversized antenna.

Loads of channels to choose from with configurable call tones, muting and volume adjustment. Also has a little external light bulb – offers limited light, so won’t necessarily get you through a midnight walk in woods.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersA very good pair of PMR walkie talkies.

All the usual features are present including, CTCSS privacy codes, channel scan and voice activation.

The range seems to be good but of course, this is very dependent on what is between you and the person you want to contact. In the areas where I use these walkie-talkies, along the beaches and coastal paths you can easily get 5 km, probably more. In built-up areas that distance drops dramatically. But it is still good enough for use say, on a building site or in a park.

Charging is via USB-C and a lead is provided. It takes approx 3 hours to fully charge each unit. Run time is up to 24 hours but that is dependant on how much you use the radios. I have not had any issues with flat batteries yet so I think they are fine from that perspective and on par with other PMR radios.

The sound quality has been pretty good so far. I don’t have the best of hearing but I had no problems with these units.

All in all, I think these are good quality. There are cheaper ones out there but the ones I have seen have not been so well made. Although one thing to keep in mind is that these radios are not weather sealed. For me, it is not an issue but it may be if you are using them in a damp environment.

Since I work from home and most of the time I stay upstairs, this walkie-talkie is really functional for me and my wife who’s also doing some housework downstairs oftentimes. Originally its is for my son, but we find it more useful for us so we could avoid shouting with each other in one house, lol. It works just fine, with strong signals and clear sounds. It is also easy to navigate with each button compared with an authentic one. No need for batteries as it is rechargeable. We also use it when we do some camping trips and it is really convenient communication-wise. I recommend the product.

First off, the yellow colour of the walkie talkies — it’s quite eye-catching and could come in handy if you’re worried about misplacing them — they’re very easy to find, even in the dark. They’ve got a durable feel to them, and they should be ok with some rough handling.

The setup easy and I managed to get these walkie talkies communicating without any major headaches. The package includes clear instructions, too.

As for performance, they do the job they’re designed for — allowing you to communicate over distances where your smartphone might not have a signal. They work fine, but there’s a catch. The range might be a bit optimistic compared to what you get in real-world situations. If you’re hoping to chat crystal clear from one end of a forest to the other, you might need to adjust your expectations a bit. But for shorter distances, they’re handy.

Battery life seems solid. They’re rechargeable, too.

Overall, I was happy with this walkie talkie set — a good budget option for casual use.

    Pros:
Durable design in an eye-catching colour
    Easy setup with clear instructions
    Practical for short-range communication
    Rechargeable batteries

    Cons:
Range might not meet high expectations

These Professional Walkie Talkies come with a range of useful features.

They feature 16 channels and a handy channel scan function, so you can swiftly find the channel with ongoing activity, making communication smoother. Plus, it has a 10 km range in open areas, giving you the freedom to communicate across longer distances.

For privacy and interference-free communication, the inclusion of 142 CTCSS privacy codes and the Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System provides an impressive 2,272 channel options. This extensive range of channels allows you to find a clear channel even in crowded areas, ensuring your conversations are confidential.

The Voice and Sound Activation Transmission (eVOX) feature is a hands-free gem. It automatically transmits your voice when you speak, making it practical for activities where your hands are occupied.

With 3 sensitivity levels, you can adjust the eVOX feature to your needs. While these walkie-talkies may not have all the bells and whistles of more advanced models, they certainly deliver reliability and straightforward functionality.

Overall, the Professional Walkie Talkies are a practical choice for various situations, whether you’re out on an adventure or need quick communication at work.

You get two walkie talkies, a double ended charging lead and a manual with this set. The radios are quite light but look and feel sturdy. There is a belt clip on the back of each radio which is easily removed if you don’t require it. On the side is a rubber panel that reveals the USB-C type charging slot and a headphone/mic socket for which you will need to supply your own headset. The manual is very good, with clear and simple steps for operating the radios.
The walkies don’t come with a charging station, you need to manually insert the USB lead in order to charge them, however the price is very reasonable for walkies with this sort of spec and not having a charging station is one of the ways they have kept the price down.
The walkies have the maximum legal range for domestic use in this country which is about 10km if you have a clear line of sight. I take walkies with me to festivals, the Grand Prix and camping and they have always been really useful. These walkies are as good as any I’ve tried and are more affordable then many I’ve tried, without compromising on features.

It’s fair to say that there are quite a few similar looking radios in this part of the PMR446 radio market so having said (as applies to all PMR446 radios)
Legal to use in UK and most EU countries, generally without a licence but please check your local rules and
The maximum permitted 0.5Watt PMR power means a few hundred metres at best in urban areas but much larger range in the mountains or open country

Let’s get into what sets these apart from the similar-looking ones

    First big plus,
There are now 16 PMR446 channels in most European countries. These actually have the 16 different frequencies (vs ‘channels’) rather than just repeats the 8 frequencies of some other older sets. Very useful for finding a free channel in more popular outdoor areas.

    Second big plus,
These have plenty of ‘voice power’ (modulation if you want to get technical) and so you can talk ‘to them’ rather than having to ‘shout into them’ as is sometimes the case on other sets.

They also have a good technical performance. The two sets I tested were both well within the required limits for excellent frequency accuracy but better still they were almost perfectly matched (tuned) to each other.
Their Privacy tones worked well between the two sets and also with another brand radio that had the same settings applied.

Finally there’s a range of useful settings that are well explained in a wonderfully easy to read size user guide and some genius usability features ( the light button operates as a push to flash button initially but if held for 5 secs it bleeps and locks on) and the display is readable by day, dim light or with a backlight. They even stand up on their own bases unlike quite a few others (!)

There is a single 3.5mm socket for an headset/speaker/mic on the side (not supplied though) and a combination belt clip /hanger that may be useful, If you lock the keypads this (and the set channel etc) is retained after switching off and on again.

I think the only thing I can not be 100% sure about is the decision to have the two supplied charging cables on a Y lead that plugs into a single USB power source. If you are using these on a family outing it definitely saves clutter and charges both at a time from 1 outlet. If the radios will ‘live’ in different rooms /tents/cars/chalets etc you’ll likely need an extra charging cable but as they use the now standard USB-C charge connection you may already have / be carrying the right one for your phone etc.

Very capable sets and a great deal to like !

Excellent tough, attractive and easy to use walkie talkies. They charge via a USB-C socket and, usefully, a cable is supplied that goes from one USB-A plug to two USB-C plugs so you can charge both phones from the same socket. Haven’t had a chance to test their full range yet but, so far, I am very pleased with them.

These come with a split usb A to C cable to allow both hand-sets to charge from one outlet which is very practical as you are likely to deplete both batts at the same time.
They have sealed in batteries lithium polymer batteries.
    The buttons operations are simple.

On/Off is also long press for scan

up and down to scroll inside of menus .
PTT button on side to select
Menu 1 time choose from 1 of 16 MAIN channels
Menu twice to choose from 142 sub channels
Menu 3 times for VOX (This is for hands free responding)
Menu 4 times for call tones (various bleepling tunes)
Menu 5 times for button beep on or off (good if watching wildlife)
Menu 6 times for roger beep on or off

Up down arrows by themselves for volume
PTT button to talkThe rubber cover on the right side hides a sub C in and a 3.5mm head set socket( no headset supplied)

You can be in silent mode if you purchase a head set with a mic to make things discrete and avoid the walkie talkie from talking to those around you.

Range is 10km maximum over water

My son tested these with me.
We made sure we could talk and then he went for a walk and I stayed home and we checked with each other every few minutes.
He got right into town ( which is very built up ,tall blocks of flats) and about 1 1/2 miles away before the signal was lost.
There was a huge lot of stuff between us to interfere with them so we thought that was pretty good.
Obviously they would perform much better where it is open ground or water.

He wants to use them at work to talk with people on the lower floors of the building so they didn’t need to be very far reaching.

Would be great for adventure type scenarios, climbing, boating etc where you want to keep in contact but cant get a phone signal.

I wasn’t really expecting much from these Walkie Talkies, when they arrived i was pleasantly surprised, they are quite solid but not heavy, the sound on them is quite clear and the range is a lot further than expected,
they are bright yellow in colour so easy to see at the bottom of a bag, or clip them to your belt, there are several channels, so just have both handsets on the same channel and your off and running, my husband fishes and is quite often on the other side of a lake, and I usually have to walk round the lake to see if he wants a coffee, very often there is no phone signal, so these will be ideal for him and save my legs,
these are a perfect starter set of walkie talkies for anyone thinking of buying but unsure of the quality

The quality is so good on these, as well as being incredibly compact and lightweight. The range is superb as is the clarity of voice. Has a 3.5mm jack so you can attach your own headsets.

Great for camping, dog walking or anything you need instant communication. I’ve had no issues and there is a huge range of features and channels available. The claim of 2 miles in an urban setting is pretty spot on.

    Would recommend amazing product.

Once set up using the guide, the walkies worked perfectly.

I like how they are lightweight, will easily clip to belt without feeling heavy.
Handy lamp on the edge of the walkies.

Charges via usb lead. Quick charging. Battery lasts a long time as well.

We will be using these for camping and walks. Great item to add to any explorers kit.

Review: High-Performance 2-Way Radios for Seamless Communication

    Pros:

-Solid Construction: These Walkie Talkies boast excellent build quality, reflecting attention to detail in their construction. The sturdy design ensures they can withstand various conditions without compromising performance.
-User-Friendly: Operating these radios is a breeze, thanks to their intuitive interface. With minimal learning curve, you can quickly navigate through the 16 channels and utilize the channel scan feature to identify active channels.
-Clear Communication: The clarity of the voice transmission is remarkable, enabling seamless communication even in noisy environments. Conversations come through distinctly, minimizing misunderstandings.
-Impressive Range: With a generous 10 km range in open spaces, these Walkie Talkies allow effective communication over significant distances. This extended reach is valuable for coordinating tasks and maintaining contact within a team.
-Privacy Options: The inclusion of 142 CTCSS privacy codes and the Continuous Tone-Coded Squelch System is a significant advantage. These features offer up to 2,272 channel combinations, reducing the risk of unintended interference from other conversations.
-Hands-Free Operation: The Voice and Sound Activation Transmission (eVOX) feature, along with adjustable sensitivity levels, enables hands-free operation. This is particularly useful when multitasking or in situations where manual operation is challenging.
-USB-C Charging: The incorporation of a USB-C charging port is a forward-thinking choice. It not only ensures faster and more convenient charging but also aligns with the current trend towards standardized charging cables.

    Cons:

-Weight: While designed for durability, the Walkie Talkies could be considered a little too bit heavy, not a big issue though
-Rigid Clip: The clip’s rigidity might be an area for improvement. Although the rugged design ensures secure attachment, a bit more flexibility could enhance overall ease of use.

    Conclusion:
These Walkie Talkies deliver a reliable and efficient communication solution, whether for professional use or recreational activities. Their robust construction, clear voice quality, and long-range capabilities make them a solid choice for staying connected. While they exhibit some minor drawbacks like weight and clip rigidity, their overall performance and user-friendly features overshadow these concerns.
