I purchased the Commodore model of this brand of chair last July (2022) The chair is very well-built, very sturdy and despite the strange mesh look of it is probably the most comfortable office chair I have ever owned. Unfortunately, the gas lifting mechanism started to fail a couple of weeks ago, which to be fair is nothing unusual. I have owned no end of office chairs over the last 30 odd years and the gas lifting mechanism has failed on every single one of them, so this did not surprise me in the slightest. What did surprise me though was Realm of Thrones response when I contacted them about it. The chair came with a five year warranty (the main reason I chose to go with this brand this time around) but as the chair was over one year old I was expecting a battle on my hands to get it fixed. However, I emailed them on a Saturday to ask for a repair and the very next working day (Monday) a representative contacted me simply to say “Please confirm your address, and we’ll send you a brand-new replacement cylinder.” I replied to confirm my address and the new cylinder arrived just three days later. I wasn’t sure how to replace the existing one so went online to find a video, and it was easy as pie and now my chair is as good again as the day it first arrived. I am incredibly impressed with not only the chair (I am of heavy build and literally use it for about 12 hours every single day) but also the company itself, and I am very happy to recommend them to everybody. In fact a representative (Michael) contacted me today just to make sure that I had received the canister and was able to install it ok. Now that’s proper customer service, and what has just prompted me to write this review. This company is excellent, and the chair is excellent, and I don’t see me ever using a different chair company again now that I’ve found the is one. Realm of Thrones and the Commodore office chair 10/10.
Ive had this chair for ages now and am having a few down days so boredom has gotten the better of me hence I am churning out Amazon reviews this evening. In between other time consuming tasks at the PC.
The mesh is actually quite comfrotable and so far has been holding up wuite well and not sagging.
its a greeat chair with a lot of adjustability. Though at 170cm tall I would say I am getting to the smallest end of what thsi chair is ideally good for.
The build is decent. its not absolutely bulet proof and solid but then I think that would jump up massively in price bracket if that was your expectation.
The levels of adjustability are great particualrly the armrests. I have very particular wasy of using things and the armrests have enough adjustment in and out, back and forth, up and down to suit my needs. The mechanism is a little bit slopy as its not the most precision engineered item. There is a littel bit too much slop in the rotational adjustment.
One issue I had was when I first got the chair I leant it all the way back as far as it would go and locked it in that reclining positon. But when i came to bring it back uprigth it woldnt budge. I thoght I had a faulty chair mechanism. The issue was that to release when its reclined it need a tiny little backwards push before it comes forward again. But becasue I had already pushed it back so far and due to what I said earlier as beign on teh smaller end of what this chair accomodates I just about managed to push back to release teh chair again.
Lots of controls under the chair, at my height and size they arent always the easiest to reach but you get there eventually. this is what I mean by saying I am on the smaller end of what is useable for this chair. If you are considerably shorter than 170 cm then you are going to find issues with using this chair if you need to constanly adjust it.
The headrest could do with not being so loose, it can accidentally drop down when you dont want it to with a litel bit of back pressure from your head. But I am sure I can jerry rig a way for it to stay at one positon as I dont see myeslf adjustign that too often.
Cant complain for the price. i see they have revised the chair a little now since I bought it, hopefully they have improved some of the niggles I mentioned
My old office chair haven’t done great service for years, it was time for a replacement
My company would reimburse me, so cost wasn’t necessarily a problem and they did recommend a chair, but having looked at it’s features and the cost and comparing it to this chair, there was no competition, the Commodore chair was better featured and less than half the price, plus the advantage of having a 5 year warranty
It arrived in a relatively compact box, given that it’s an office chair. Each individual item was wrapped, so we’re protected in transit
The building of the chair took me about 20 mins in total, with the fitting of the chair to the base being the only challenge as I was working on my own, but that was just trying to line up the hole in the seat base to the height cylinder, but that was it. The instructions were good and there wasn’t really anything confusing or wrong with them, maybe just making them a little bigger, to make them easier to read
In terms of use, I’m really impressed, I opted for the deluxe seat cushion, rather than the mesh one and it’s extremely comfy for prolonged sitting. The adjustability of the arms, recline and height means I can tailor it to use at my desk, the castors run smoothly and I feel that this is a quality item, that should easily provide many years of service
For the price, warranty and features I’d definitely recommend
Other reviews do a great job of highlighting how comfortable and ergonomically suitable the chair itself is, so I’m skipping that from my review.
But I’d like to point out how brilliant the post sale support is. I faced an issue where my chair started making squeaking noise after just a couple of months of usage. The support team worked patiently with me to identify the root cause and also proposed sending the faulty part free of cost. I’m really pleased with the dedication of the team.
It’s always difficult to find a good reliable desk chair however the quality of these chairs are fantastic! I purchased the Deluxe Mesh chair and it’s so comfortable. The lumber support on the chair is excellent and I love the adjustable arms. If your thinking about buying an affordable and good quality chair, Realm of Thrones Chairs are the one!
Bought this chair as my gaming chair was causing me lower back pain. I was searching an ergonomic chair with good back support at a reasonable price. The chair arrived the next day and was easy to assemble. Sitting in on it for the first time, I immediately felt the difference. My lower back was supported and the mesh sit meant that there was less pressure on my lower back. So far so good.
Upgrade from an aging gaming chair.
This chair fits my proportions quite well (6 foot 2 inches), and is plenty sturdy enough for my use.
Be warned, it is heavy when boxed.
Edit. After contacting the seller (use the email address in the instructions) they were very quick to respond and dispatched the correct headrest. Slight mix up in the first shipment but very good aftercare / customer service. Very happy with product and selle
Great office chair very comfortable seat pad with a lot of features the 4 height settings the back can tilt, the head rest is sturdy and give good support and the most impressive feature is the adjustable lumber support for me as I have a bad back and it puts your back in the right posture
New update – 25-06-23
After a issue with the annoying wobble the company reach out to me and offered a replacement piston, but i could not get the old piston out, so they then sent me a new base with the up and down handles on which sorted the issue and now i am able to go to the Height when i first bought it.
I am guessing the piston made its way down too much and started to wobble.
Anyway all good now and thank you
—————————————————————————————————
After a year of daily use, some days long hours so it gets used daily, its started a very annoying wobble as in the top of the piston is not sitting in its correct position like the seal as give way somewhere, i don’t even change the height.
So my thoughts are this is the beginning of the end, a year on which is not good.
I can’t speak highly enough of this chair. Super easy to assemble, great instructions. It is also made of very high quality parts. Its looks great in my home office and is super comfortable. So happy with this purchase
Chair was very well packaged, double boxed with components also individually packaged to prevent scratches. Instructions for assembling the chair were on the whole very clear and it was not difficult to put together. It is a heavy and sturdy chair and although I put it together on my own without any issues, there were elements where having another pair of hands would have been useful. The adjustments that can be made to the chair are great meaning it’s comfortable for all day use. I’d recommend this chair.
The chair looks good and is easy to assemble, has a lot of adjustments.
The seat is a bit hard and too big, being 5’9″ I can’t get proper back support because I sit not close enough to the backrest. One screw that holds the mesh had damaged thread so I had to fix it to tighten.
I decided to upgrade and get myself something more suited to office use, as opposed to gaming, as I don’t game in my home office.
I chose this as it had many features that would make it suited to me, such as all of the adjustability options, particularly the lumbar support and the arm rests.
This is my first mesh chair and I was pleasantly surprised at how stretchy the mesh is, it was never going to feel as soft as a sponge chair, but in a different kind of way, it’s still very comfortable. I guess with a sponge seat, you can feel that squishiness, whereas with this it’s more of a stretchiness, it doesn’t feel hard in any way, it’s definitely not like a plastic school chair, perhaps a little bit like a hammock, for your behind
The item was packaged very well, there was little chance of anything being damaged in transit, as it was double boxed and each part was wrapped in something similar to what you’d wrap E.T in, if you worked for NASA.
The instructions for the most part where easy to follow, I built this in about 20 minutes, by myself. The step where you add the mechanism to the seat could have been clearer, there appears to be some room for adjustment, as there were seemingly 3 places it could have fitted and there was no explanation about which set of holes to choose over the others. I chose the middle set (if in doubt, go down the middle), I’m not sure what the difference would be if I’d chose another set.
My previous chair was almost straight at the back, I could feel my whole back against the backrest, when seated. I genuinely don’t know if I have been seated incorrectly forever. This does take a little getting used to with this chair, as I now feel like I am leant back a little more than I was used to, to get the full benefit of the neck and back support.
The seller responds to emails quickly, I emailed which activated the 5 year guarantee and they responded quite promptly.
I don’t really use the recline function, as I am using it for work (honest boss, never even tried it). I have tested it, but it’s not a feature I imagine myself using, I guess if I end up watching some lengthy video on a training course, I may put it to the test, but as I’m not an executive, I can’t be relaxing on the job.
Overall, it’s a very good chair, I’m impressed with it due to its build quality and adjustability. I’m happy with my purchase and I think I made a great choice.
Very good quality and well built.
Easy to put together as well.
Lots of adjustments to make it fit anyone, the seat is very firm though. And a little worried that the fabric will stretch or break but for now it’s good
I’ve since decided that I need a new chair for my home office. I did my homework and shortlisted three best chairs I could buy. Herman Miller Aeron, Steelcase Leap V1/V2, or this Realm of Thrones Commodore. I finally concluded that this gives the best value for money overall, considering the incomparable price range. I ordered this and it didn’t disappoint me. The sized is decent, headrest position is spot-on, and mesh is comfortable to sit and lay back in, not to talk of the gorgeous stylish look. This has got all the ergonomic adjustment functions I need. Seat depth is adjustable, but tilt is not. Arms are 4D with this version, if you need 5D, you’ll need to buy the Insignia. Finally, the customer service is excellent, as I needed a replacement part which was sent to me without hesitation. I’m happy they’re this professional and value customer requests. All in all, you won’t regret buying this for office work. Only time will tell how long it’ll last.
I had a problem with the chair due to my room is very dry to generate electric shock while seating, I have got a solution to it which is covering the seat with a pillow cover.
The chair is very nice overall, I have been seating on it for more than a month and it is very comfortable for me who always work around the computer, if you are also always seating while working, I would recommand you to buy yourself an ergonomic chair like this
The headrest while a bit flimsy was quite comfortable and the back was great. I really liked the lumbar adjustment. I also loved the built-in footrests on the chair base, I wish more chairs had this. The only reason I returned it was the seat, it just wasn’t comfortable for me. If you’ve never tried a full mesh chair, like me, I would advise you to try one before buying this. I’ve found a seat with a cushion much better for me.
Thankfully the return/refund process was great. Communication with seller was prompt and they even send you instructions on how to dismantle the chair. They do however charge you for the return postage, so bear that in mind.
FYI I’m a 6ft 1in male around 85KG and I was easily able to adjust it to fit my body.
I searched high and low and read SO many reviews looking for a high quality office chair which is up to serious hours use and isn’t 600+.
This chair (so far first day of all day use) is a great buy. So many possible adjustments means i can set set it up and adjust to my desired style and after a long day my back, arms and legs are all still feeling good.
Update- I’ve had this chair a while now and the chair itself is holding up well but I’m discovering you really do need to move regularly else you get a numb bottom. Not sure it’s the chairs fault or the fact sitting for several hours really isn’t good for you. Chair still looks like new though.
First impressions-impressed with this chair. It went together easily enough. It’s is really comfortable and I sit in it for a lot of hours!! Highly recommend
The sign of a good quality chair is in its packaging. The packaging was plentiful, and all parts were in pristine condition. The chair parts are double boxed to ensure even the worst delivery company wont smash things up.
The second sign is when you can put the chair together without referring to the instructions. All parts are labelled, and as a fallback the instructions are absolutely perfect. No Chinglish. Extra bolts are provided too.
The quality of the end product is fantastic. It is comfortable, and after sitting in it for a few minutes, I found myself dozing. Not ideal for work, but a sign of a great quality chair. Buy it. You won’t regret it!!
I am very impressed by this chair, having used it daily for two months so far. I bought it following extensive research of the market. It is highly adjustable and ergonomic, and delightfully comfortable and supportive throughout long sessions. It fits both me (180 cm tall) and my wife (165 cm) perfectly. It is sturdily made and of obvious high quality. Smart looking too. I can’t think of any downsides! In fact, I am so pleased with this chair and Realm of Thrones that I have ordered an Admiral model from the same company as well.
Delivery was expected 12/05/2022 but it actually arrived early on 10/05/2022 which was great. It was packaged very well, double boxed as described, and all the parts were individually wrapped in bubble wrap. The back rest and seat of the chair were packaged in a sort of heavy duty fabric envelope thing to protect them. Nothing was damaged.
I was surprised by the actual build quality of all the pieces, all parts are solid and sturdy with a good weight to them, including the screws. These come packaged in their own sections, with spares. They even included a screwdriver for attaching the headrest, rather than rely on you already having one, which is a nice bonus! (see photos). Instructions were clear and easy to follow. Reading other reviews I expected to have it built within 20 minutes but it took me around 45 minutes – my back is to blame for this, the chair is easy enough to put together.
So first impressions – it looks great and it’s really comfortable, more so than the chair I use in the office. The mesh is really supportive and I’ve sat in it so far for around 5 hours each day. All of the adjustable parts work well and stay in place, particularly the arm rests. Often on chairs with 3D arm rests it’s easy to knock them out of position by mistake but these stay in place firmly. The lumbar support is excellent as is being able to tune the resistance of how far the chair leans back without locking the backrest in place. I built the chair in a carpeted room and wheeled it into my office when built which has a wood floor, the wheels glided over both the carpet and floor with ease. It makes no noise when sat in and moving about, no annoying squeaks or creaks.
The only gripe I have with the chair is that I wish the back rest could have a more upright position, it feels as though it is reclined ever so slightly – I have since realised that when assembling the base there are 3 depth options to screw the base and seat to. I have used the middle option so I think if I chose the option to have the base further in it will bring the back rest closer which should rectify the issue.
Overall I am extremely happy with the chair, it has surpassed my expectations. I will update this review in 6 months or so (if I remember) to see if my opinion changes after more use.
Update. After a couple of weeks on the chair it was definitely the best purchase. Very comfortable for sitting all day. Easy to adjust with lots of options. Fantastic chair. Would recommend.
There are no squeaks or unwanted noise, everything seems pretty robust and my cat hates the mesh so she won’t claw it to pieces.
The only issue I’ve noticed is the adjustable lumbar tensioners seem to slip after tightening them up, I like to have this set at the tightest setting and I’ve noticed it getting looser through the day, I’m unsure if this is intentional or just poor design, but overall it’s a very comfortable chair and I’m happy with it.
This ergonomic office chair is very well built with quality mesh and solid frames. It sure looks light having a hollow seat and back only covered by a piece of fabric, but it’s very sturdy. Feels it will last very long, and its modern and simplistic look definitely stood out from all the others.
I needed a chair with a good back support, and this one gives a level of support that is just right for my back. I couldn’t sit for longer than 40mins, but I’ve been sitting on this one for a few hours today, and I don’t feel the usual back pain at all.
The adjustable armrests can raise quite high up and turn inwards or straight, and my elbows can rest very comfortably when working on my computer.
Best purchase in a long time, worth the money.
Genuine review- after searching for chairs for wfh and going through reviews, I decided on this one. It was a little pricey, however it is a solid chair so will hopefully last.
Need two to put it together, took about 20 mins.
I’ve got a floor mat as we have a carpet.
The chair is definitely comfortable and ergonomic and the adjustable knots etc are very easy to use.
I like the arm rests and they drop fairly low too to enable me to move close to the dining table which is where I work.
I would have liked the neck adjustment to be a bit firm as it feels it will be pushed back instead of supporting my neck. It would have been nice if it also came forward a little more to support my neck too.
Will update later if any changes.
Edit- still OK, lumber support feels a little loose as if it slips a bit. Purchased a foot rest and the chair seems to be helping, happy with it still.
I’ve been looking for a desk chair with mesh seat for quite some time, there weren’t many choices around. This brand impressed me very much with its futuristic design and excellent ergonomic features. I chose this stunning colour because it comes with 5D rotating armrests upgrades, which is only availabe on a more expensive model, so this was in fact a massive saving. You can feel the quality in these stainless-steel arms and they are very practical and flexible. Overall, my wrist felt pressure-free, no lower back pain either, a stunning piece of furniture that makes me comfortable over long hours, and I could get more work done without a worry about my spine.
However I’m satisfied overall, would suggest some improvements for future a future edition:
– Neck/headrest would be better, if it would keep the set position more firmly, plus option to adjust back, and forth
– armrest would be even better, if the top would flip out forward, so giving an extra resting place between the desktop and the chair, or could be used to hold the keyboard. Also an added pivot point at the bottom would make it possible to fold the armrests backward/out of the way
– an optional memory foam cushion could be added. Sometimes the seat feels a bit too firm and cold. It would be nice, if there was a cushion that fits just right there.
The price is still hard to justify, but if the 5 years warranty fully legit, it might worth its price.
So far I used numbers of different office chairs including herman miller mirra2, knoll regeneration, and when I compare this with those brands, it feels better value for money overall. Will be using it everyday for my work – let’s see how it goes.
This is probably the best chair you can get for this price range. The amount of adjustability is better than any chair I’ve seen. The armrests width for me was quite important and this chair can adjust the arms in any way and they are big and comfy. The lumbar support was another important aspect for me and this chair has a nice adjustable one which is sturdy and you can feel it on your back. The mesh seat is way more comfortable than a foam one I had and the seat depth adjust is perfect for finding your optimal position and keeps me sitting with good posture. Overall fully recommend it.
Comfy and cool design especially with the striped mesh. Back support is really good, not just pushes forward but also positions up or down, which isn’t common for most office chairs.
I like the fact that the seat can slide forward for extended thigh support, and the arms are adjustable in many ways which is really amazing. It took me a little while to work out how the adjustable tension feature works, it basically upgrades the endless turning of an enormous knob usually found underneath the seat with a much easier and simper switch for different resistance levels – also feels more dignified as I don’t need to reach low, the switch lever is right on the side.
Fantastic ergonomic chair overall!
