I have used different battery chargers in the past and I decided to get a lithium charger and batteries for my blink camera. Lithium batteries last longer in these cameras but they are more expensive than your regular type of battery. If you use a cctv camera of any kind that you expect to use for years I would recommend getting a lithium battery charger with lithium rechargeable batteries.
Beware: You cannot use Nimh rechargeable batteries with lithium battery chargers and vice versa. They have a different chemistry to each other and won’t work.
I liked this charger because the batteries are easy to put in and especially take out due to the idents at the sides. There is a neon blue light showing what charge the battery has and on it and the cable that attaches is a USB cable. Seemed to charge all 4 batteries in a couple of hours. A plastic box is provided for any unused batteries so you can store them away safely. Glad I bought this and after a few months will be saving money on batteries.

The charger and Hixon batteries are great. I use a Zoom Q2 Video recorder for my band and I can get well over 2 hours continuous recording which is enough for most gigs. Normal AA batteries don’t last more than about 25 minutes.

But a question. I tried to charge up non Hixon AA batteries – Amazon to be specific and I got flashing red LEDs after a few seconds so is this charger only for Hixon batteries ?

It’s simply a 4-AA battery charger, with 4 AA batteries. The charger is well made of hard plastic and feels durable, and most importantly, it works a treat. It comes with 4 batteries each with a decent capacity of 3500mAh. The LCD is a nice touch, really useful for seniors as they feel comfortable while showing the progress and once full, just remove them safely. Actually the charger comes with safe measures, so not something to worry about!

    Good quality, good charger.

I use these mainly to power LED spotlights but obviously they will work for anything that requires AA batteries. They have been powering the spotlight for almost a month and were nearly empty when I put them in the charger today so they provide a decent amount of energy without needing a recharge on a daily basis.

The charging block connects via USB C and does not have the fastest charge in the world at least connected to a PC, a power outlet would probably be faster.
It clearly displays the battery levels: The ones that are full will have a static 3 bar display and the ones still charging will flash from 1-3.

Overall this is a good way to save money over time, I haven’t had them for that long but I have not experienced any safety or power issues with them being in use for many hours a day – no bulging, overheating etc.

My experiences with rechargeable batteries have often been hit or miss, but these ones managed to find a sweet spot. Upon unboxing, the inclusion of both a Micro USB & Type C was certainly a nod to modern convenience. The LCD screen on the charger was an insightful touch, offering real-time updates without the usual guesswork. Perhaps what pleased me most was the multi-protection feature of these batteries; it’s heartening to know I’m using something with such diligent safety measures. With ample charge cycles promised, these batteries have managed to extend the life of my home devices significantly.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI was looking for a set like this for a very specific reason – I needed a good set of rechargeable batteries to power my electric protein shaker.

Using normal batteries with it I ended up creating loads of partially used ones (as the shaker was rotating too slowly to blend the powder) which I then kept storing, because these days I don’t really get too many things powered with AA batteries. And the ones I do have (like some remotes) take ages to discharge.
I had some rechargeable batteries, very old ones but still working. I also had a charger. But when I tried them with the shaker, it was just a bit faster than a partially discharged regular battery
This was because a typical rechargeable battery has 1.2V output, while the regular ones have 1.5V. Surprisingly no big names in the battery business do the more ‘powerful’ rechargeable batteries. Why? Don’t know. Luckily this set came by.
You get 4 batteries in a nice plastic storage box, the charger and a USB-C cable. All you need really.
The charger has a bright blue LCD display, showing the charging state of the battery. It can also detect a faulty one. Both AA and AAA batteries can be charged, however only the Hixon ones are recommended for this device.
What I like is that among others – it has overcharge protection. I can put the batteries on charge overnight without worrying about them. What I don’t like is that the display remains lit the whole time until it gets unplugged. The instructions say it should switch off once it has stopped charging
But apart from that all went well. Batteries came partially charged and so I wasn’t yet able to do a full cycle. But once charged, they did a good job powering the shaker. The motor was only a tiny bit slower, which I’m happy with.

It’s great that there are 4 slots and you get 4 batteries. They are 3500mAh so a very decent charge that lasts for a while. With 1.5V output they will deliver enough to power any device you’d use conventional batteries for. I will swap them in pairs as my shaker requires 2 batteries. Once I notice the motor getting slower, I’ll replace them with the fresh pair and put the other ones on charge. 37 is not super cheap but you get everything you need – 4 good batteries, a decent charger and 1500 cycles to go. I’m definitely happy to recommend this set.

Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good set of four 1.5V, more powerful rechargeable batteries with a good charger, ok price

This rechargeable battery charger is great for households who use loads of batteries.
It takes both AA ( which are included) and AAA which is very helpful. The description was a little confusing as it seemed to read that it only takes Hixon batteries, but it is a battery charger and it has worked with different brands.
I have no idea how long it takes to recharge as I usually put them in overnight and they are ready in the morning.
The unit itself has a display that informs you of the status of the charge. It is easy to read.
The unit has all the safety features it needs here in the UK to keep your home safe. It is well made and sturdy. It looks like it will last a while.

At the time of this review 33, which is quite a bit of an expense but worth it. Well made, compact and does the job. Batteries came with a bit of charge but always best to fully charge before use. Can be charged via any USB port/charging point, even laptop. Its impossible to say how long the charge lasts for because it depends on what you use them for etc. I’ve used two in a portable fan, its 20cm in diameter and has 4 speed settings. I use it all the time while working on my laptop up to 8 hours per day. I tend to run it on the second speed and boost when needed to its used alot. I normally use 2AA batteries (branded) every week! I’ve switched over to these and so far one set of 2 AA has lasted 11days and its still going proving these have a lot more power. Screen shows the level of charging, its only 10cm x 8cm x 3cm so doesn’t take up a lot of space. Overall, excellent, comes with 4 AA batteries.
