This USB hub works flawlessly. Everything connects instantly with fast transfer speeds, so copying data won’t be slowed down. Most hubs on sale are only 5Gbps, so if you have something like a fast SSD drive they are throttling all that speed you originally expected.

It is compact and lightweight, yet feels well made and looks very smart. The 10Gbps speeds mean this will maximise your speeds and also offer more future proofing. The mix of USB-A and USB-C makes it flexible, so this is a very solid option and I’m using it very happily on one of my Mac mini computers.

Arrived well packaged in a plain cardboard box.

The case is aluminium, and the unit is small and discrete. We particularly liked the premium styling and the type and number of ports, which are satisfyingly snug connections.

We’ve tested it with multiple devices, and it has worked flawlessly, including with gaming mice and Bluetooth controllers. There is no perceptible input lag and data transfer is fast, as expected.

The device stays cold to the touch in use, and there is no electronic hum.

    I can recommend this produc

Lovely quality aluminium designed case covers a fast 10gb/s RSHTECH RX05 speedy USB4 type C thunderbolt hub to 4 ports, 2 USB A ports and 2 USB C ports, all 4 ports up to 10gb/s transfer rate.
The fastest USB 120GB stick i had to hand maxed out the full read and write it was capable of @ 360MB/s read and 245MB/s write.
A very fast, very nice designed USB hub.

RSHtech USBC hub This is a high performance USB-C hub. Its simple purpose is if you have at least one fast USB-C port and want more of them. It is easy to use and works exactly as claimed.

I particularly like the accurate and honest details set out in the listing including, when they tell you it is lighter than an egg, they back it up by stating the weight of both. This suggests meticulous care by the company which I take as a good sign.

I ordered this USB hub to connect all my devices in one place. It works really well and looks sleek & stylish with its metal finish. Been using it for 3 weeks and I have had no issues with it. Looks better than all of its competitors. 10/10

This hub is very slim and the build quality is decent.
It has a metal body all round with plastic insert tips and the cable is thick with end covers for basic bend protection.
It works well; splitting 1 USBC port into 4 and wont bottle neck the majority of usb devices.
The only con with this is there is NO power delivery and you cant use a usbc to display adapter so limits what you should use this with, Ive been testing with other device types and not found another one it doesnt work with yet.

This product feels and looks good. An aluminium version it is clearly better looking than plastic versions offered by competitors. Works well on my Samsung laptop with OTG, my android phone and my laptop with a USB C port. With the addition of a USB C male to USB A female adapter similar to the one in the image the hub becomes more versatile. Perhaps a shame it doesn’t come with one in the box maybe?
I have used it now for nearly two months with no issues.

With now so many USB-C devices it is so useful to charge several of them at the same time. Very slim, metal, charges well, and is very portable. I am not sure the 10Gbps speed is sustained when several devices are charged, but it works really well. Recommended if you like me have a lot of USB-C devices at home 🙂

Plugged this into my MacBook M1 Air and it was instantly recognised for use. Very lightweight and the aluminium case is stylish and should stand up to being thrown in a bag.

Ideal to add a couple of USB C and a couple of USB A ports to a MacBook.

Nice little compact and due to the alluminium body quality feeling USB C hub.

The M1 Mini only comes with 2 USB C ports and whilst Ive been able to get by with this I needed the odd USB C connection for spare SSD’s.

This is ideal as its not over complicated with ports I have no need for – I need USB C its got USB C and it works as its meant to – I tested the same SSD (Samsung T7 Shield) with this hub using same USB Cable and there was no difference in speed between the two.

I also used it successfully with my Asus Zenscreen, and also tested the SSD with this attached and noticed no drop in performance so can handle two heavy uses cases it seems.

Ive also used it with a Midi controller with no issues.

This hub’s useful if you need extra USB-C ports, or need to relocate some from the back of your PC for easier access, as even now most PCs only come with one or two USB-C ports – and they might not all be 10Gb. Obviously the hub will only operate at 10Gb speeds if it’s plugged into a 10Gb USB port!

I tested the hub with a Ugreen USB 3.2 Gen2 2.5″ SATA HDD/SSD enclosure and a Crucial MX300 500GB. As that’s a SATA drive it’s limited to 6GB/second but it’s adequate for testing this hub. I got 538MB/second read speeds in Crystal Disk Mark – comparable to the speed when directly connected to my computer’s USB 3.2 Gen2 USB port (for comparison, the drive read at 388MB/second when connected to a Gen1 port).

The hub’s small and very lightweight, possibly slightly too lightweight for some people! But that’s only a very minor niggle and didn’t cause me any problems in use.

Just a couiple of points to be aware of: the hub does not have its own power supply and, as its manual points out, it doesn’t do PD (power delivery) so you can’t use it to charge your tablet or laptop – so make sure your computer supplies enough power on its USB3 ports to run this hub AND the devices you’re going to plug into it!

It’s a nice little hub and I’m keeping it connected to my PC. I’ve got it on the end of a USB3 type-C extension cable, sitting in front of my monitors, as it’s handy to have some USB-C ports that I can get to quickly.

I’ve been using this USB C Hub for a little while now and I mostly love it.
I have used it with a Lenovo Laptop (ThinkBook 14 G2 ITL Intel i7 with 40GB RAM and 2TB NVMe SSD running Windows 11 22H2) with great success, it copies files from an external M.2 NVMe drive to another at over 900mbps and around top speed for an external 2.5in SSD that I have.
However, I also have a Samsung Galaxy Book2 Business laptop and I didn’t have the same success with that.
I reached out to RSHTECH customer support, and they were able to find the issue. In this case my Samsung laptop is not capable of proving enough power to the device to run the 2 or 3 external SSD/NVMe drives.
The minimum requirement for power with this device is 5V3A.
To be able to use this device with my Samsung Laptop, I’d need it to use an external power supply, but this is not a function that is available.
Would I recommend it, hell yes, it’s a great device and works blisteringly fast when used with a compatible laptop, it’s just a shame my Samsung isn’t compatible. I’ll continue to use it with my Lenovo laptop as it works so well.

I received this product as part of the Amazon Vine programme and this review is my own opinion.

I liked the look of this hub as I though it would be a nice match for my M1 Mini case work and it is.

Just plug it in and everything seems to work fine. An external SD drive, phone sync/charging, sound card and web cab all work just fine.

The hub has a fairly short cable which maybe a factor for some applications but it works fine for me as they’re just enough length to expose the sockets from the rear of the mini. For laptop applications it is idea.

No trouble recommending this hub as it works well and is good value for money with frequent offers too by the looks of i

The “RSHTECH USB C Hub [10Gbps] 4-Port USB” arrived in a small box.

Inside the box, the hub was further protected by a resealable plastic bag. What was unusual, but a welcome feature, was that the USB C connector plug had a protective plastic dust cap. So often cables, and devices like this, are absent them.

The metal bodied hub is nice and compact, but still allows wider plugs to be inserted without conflict.

In operation a small blue LED illuminates when connected, and although its viewing angle is limited, you don’t always want a bright LED shining in your eyes, especially in darkened rooms.

As to performance, which is what it is all about:-

I first tested the 1m 10Gbps USB C extension lead which is connected to the 10Gbps port on the computer to set a base line for performance. To achieve this, I used a external 10Gbps Sabrent NVME containing a Crucial 1TB P3 NVME connected using CrystalDiskMark 8.

The hub was then connected to the extension lead, and the external NVME attached to the first port on the hub, and the test performed again. The results are shown in the attached pictures. The remaining 3 ports were tested with similar results. A small drop in performance was seen, but that was to be expected.

Overall, I am happy with the hubs performance, and it has won a place in my system.

    Positives:-

Attractive, compact, slimline design, and very good build quality.
Compatible with Mac OS, Windows and Linux.
    Plug and play.
    Up to 10Gbps data transfer.
    4 x USB-C data ports
Compatible with a wide variety of devices.

    Negatives:-

Only that I would have preferred a cable longer than 150mm.

    Observations:-

Came in an overprinted cardboard box, inside which the USB-C Hub was packed in side a sealed, reusable display pack. A very basic concertina type leaflet, printed in 9 languages was enclosed in the box.
The USB-C ports are for data transfer only.
Video streaming, and PD charging, are not supported.

    Conclusion:-

This product is built to RSHTECH’s usual high quality standard, and their products have always proven to be very reliable in practice.

I initially ordered the product for using with external drives. But it’s that handy it’s now also being used with multiple displays and drives when hot desking.

Another great product from RSTech, I also have a powered USB switchable dock from them, they certainly do not compromise on quality even though there items are priced very competitively.

Compact, hassle free packaging with only minimal but enough details and instruction how to use the product. In fact, it is as simple to use as plugging it in to a type C USB port and it is ready to use. It has sturdy aluminium casing and robust cabling with connector. Love it as I am sure it is going to last for as long as I need it. Well recommended must to have product! *****

This understated but great looking compact, aluminium cased 4-port USB-C hub gets my recommendation if you’re after something to expand the number of available ports by taking advantage of a free 10Gbps USB-C port.

I’m using this with my PC that has the X570 Aorus Master motherboard and only a single available USB-C 3.1/3.2 Gen2 port. I have also tested it with my son’s latest all-singing / all-dancing gaming laptop.

Immediately recognised within windows (10 on the PC and 11 on the laptop) and worked with everything that I connected to it with matching performance compared to direct connection – portable SSDs, phone, tablet and pen drives. It even charged my Google watch – however, as charging is not supported, don’t expect the same for anything more ‘demanding’!

I plan to get a couple of Samsung T7 Shield Portable SSDs and this hub is going to be perfect to take advantage of the full read/write speeds of up to 1,050 MB/s and 1,000 MB/s on that device.

The only negative (for me) is the length of the cable – whilst perfect for laptop use, I would have liked a longer cable to be able to place the device on my desktop, instead of on top of my PC case. I guess a simple USB-C extender should take care of this though.

Overall, a great little device and well priced.

This is a great little hub for pcs or laptops that need extra USB-c ports for peripherals. You get 4 ports USB-C ports, sharing the 10gbit speed, and it supplied enough power for devices that needed it.

My use case came from my desktop only having 1 USB-C port – I needed more. To test this out, I had 4 devices hooked up. Webcam at 4k iPad, iPhone, and a 128GB SD card through a type C reader. All were detected and worked flawlessly. It could even charge the iPhone and iPad at the same time, but this will only be supplying USB BUS power – this is not a powered hub, so don’t expect super speed charging, that’s not what this device is for. Nevertheless I was impressed it could still provide charge to both at the same time.

My SD read speeds were the same whether connected directly to the USB-C port or through the hub so its not causing any added latency. and i tried doing a transfer from iPhone whilst also benchmarking the SD card and browsing files on iPad and there were no issues as there was plenty of bandwidth.

So if you only have 1 USB-C port and just want 3 more in a small device, this is the hub for you. With more and more devices going type C, older PCs will need hubs like this.

Product is as described by seller, Aluminium body gets quite warm but look at it as a free winter hand warmer. Doesn’t appear to slow down the speed of my usb drives as stated in the headline, it takes 4 usb drives side by side. I have bought usb hubs in the past only to find I can only use alternate ports because the space between has been too narrow. Ihave bought other RSHTECH products in the past and all have been well built and reliable

I wanted one with four USB C posts for my recording studio, and this does the job brilliantly. No charging, just data, but that’s all I want, so it’s ideal

Now I need to find some extra things to plug in to it – USB ports, one can never have enough, and any free port simply means the Universe has another device that’s going to need a hole to put it’s plug in… it’s a Cosmic Law, someone should write a PhD dissertation on it (actually, someone probably already has).

  25. Anonymous says:

Do you require four USB-C data ports?
With the march of USB-C, many devices now come with USB-C connectors, and this next-generation hub offers a clear speed advantage over slower four-port data hubs.

Four USB-C 3.2 data-only sockets mean a slightly more compact design for a splitter over the USB-A norm while doubling the theoretical transfer speed from USB 3.0’s 5Gb to 10Gb, device-dependent.

Of devices, the hub is compatible with the main operating systems; Windows, Mac OS, Linux, iOS, and Android.

However, there is no provision for pass-through charging via a PD-Port; this may be worth considering if you have only one USB-C port on your device for data, charging etc.

The price point, I think, is reasonable for USB 3.2 speeds, making this worth consideration.

RSHTECH USB C Hub, 4-Port USB 3.1/3.2 Gen2 Hub arrives in a slimline box so should easily fit for your letterbox if you’re not home to take delivery.

The Hub Is all made of aluminum, so feels high quality, also means it will be great for cooling, transferring heat away to the outer shell.

You get 4 USB c ports that were all perfectly aligned. I had no issues with connectivity when I tested them via my Mac.

I do think that they could have included one more USB c port on the end, or a full size USB port on the end because it’s just blank on this hub which is really strange.

All ports registered, I haven’t tested it with any hard drive yet, because I got this hub mainly for the new Mac mini M2 that I’m about to buy. This will allow me to have much more connectivity when it arrives.

RSHTECH is a pretty decent brand, and they make all kinds of peripherals. I’ve had many of their hard drive enclosures and a few of their products, and they have all been of great quality.

I do not have any complaints about this hub; it does exactly what it does and is of good quality.

I needed to move a heap of stuff around on my drives and devices. I wanted something tidy, fast and portable. This seemed to fit the bill.

Spent the whole day plugging different devices in, and it seems very solid with good quality connectors.

It’s got a sensible length lead built into it, which seems nice and robust. An unobtrusive blue light shows it has a connection.

    Very pleased with it.

I chose this brand because I already own a powered 7 USB a & USB C bar which I’m very impressed with but wanted something with just Cs and a smaller more portable form. .

It does say it in the advert, charging is not supported. OTG is.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a review for the RSHTECH 4 port USB C Hub, Model RX04.

Packaging is a manufacturers box with a brief instructional leaflet and the hub itself, packed in it’s own plastic resealable pouch.

The aluminium gunmetal grey design looks minimalist and chic with it’s unobtrusive soft blue power indicator. The rubberised captive cable, with some strain relief, is 9.5″ long so the hub will sit close to your device. There is a dust cover fitted to the USB Type-C connector.

    Warranty is for 18 months.

You get 4 x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports with a theoretical data transfer speed of up to 10Gbps provided all the USB ports, cables, and connected devices on your device also support the 10Gbps standard. The new Gen 22 and 21 mode also reduce the overhead from 20% to just 3% with the USB 3.2’s new 128b/132b encoding scheme; hence, you see better effective throughput. Actual real world speed will vary depending upon whether you are reading or writing data, file size and associated equipment.

It is backwards compatible with earlier USB standards but the speed will drop accordingly. These USB version numbers are confusing and don’t mean much as USB 3.0, USB 3.1 Gen 1 and USB 3.2 Gen 1 are all interchangeable and operate at 5 Gbps while USB 3.1 Gen 2 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 are the same, operating at 10 Gbps. The USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF) would like manufacturers to adopt the term ‘SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps’ for 3.2 Gen 2 devices.

Compatible with USB-C/USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 3/4 devices. Windows, Mac OS, Linux Chrome OS, iPad OS, Android and more.

NOTE: USB 3.2 ports cannot be used to charge cellphone’s or other devices and are suitable for data transfer only and do NOT support charging or video streaming. It will support hard drives, flash drives, mice, keyboards, and similar USB Type-C devices, is Plug and play and no driver is required.

Bottom line: If you need a small USB-C type 4 port hub that looks smart, will fit in your pocket, provides a decent level of performance whilst also providing some degree of future proofing this one from RSHTECH will suit your needs.

I have bought other RSHTECH USB Hubs before. They look good, perform well and, to date, have never let me down.
