a good sized tube of thermal paste.
repasted my old GPU thats being put in my daughters pc. applied easy enough, not as viscus as some more expensive compounds ive used but gose on nice and spreads out well under pressure.
Comes in an easy to use syringe and seems to work exactly as expected. Very difficult to gauge if it’s quite as good as more expensive brands, but I’ll update this review with any noteworthy observations that come to light over time.
I work on a lot of older electronics and computers, and I’m perfectly happy to use this. I think I might go for a known brand for modern, more sensitive electronics though.
With old games console devices being over 12years old, it was time to refresh the thermal paste.
The syringe screw lid and plunger action was good. I liked the rubber lid as it gave me confidence it won’t dry up if unused. The paste was a metallic gray with a thick consistency like gloop.
Only time will tell, but touching the paste gives me confidence that this paste will last a good few years.
Recommended?… time will tell, but currently good experience so far.
This thermal grease has a grey color which allows it to be used easily when applied on a heat sink. The use of a silicone nozzle cover allows it to be covered after use which prevents the thermal grease being contaminated. The thermal conductivity of the grease is good enough that it can conduct a good amount of heat from the component to the heat sink. However the quality of the syringe is quite fragile as the stem can be easily breaks off.
Cheap with a good amount, my switch was sitting 51-53 degrees playing heavy games. Changed the thermal paste and it’s now sitting 48~9 degrees. I suppose it’s because the thermal paste was old on the switch but it does the job.
Photo to show just how much paste you get for the money!
Most thermal paste I’ve used so far comes in 5ml syringes half-filled with about 4g of paste. This is in a 20ml syringe and after peeling back the label it has more than 10ml of paste in it.
So on a purely paste per pound basis, this stuff rocks. It is a little “thinner”, less viscous, than my usual paste.
In practice on a 6700K with an Arctic Freezer 7 (ancient air cooler) it keeps my system below 70C under load which is a little cooler than it was before I repasted the CPU.
Likely helped that I blew out half a tonne of dust when I did the repaste though so not sure how much improvement to attribute to the paste.
I never paid attention to the quantity of this and assumed that it would be a micro-syringe with just enough for 1 CPU as is usually the case. I was surprised to find it was a 20ml syringe that initially looked full, but when I peeled the label back I could see that there was just over 10ml of paste. There was a moment when I thought it a bit of a con, but then I had to remember that 10ml is a lot of thermal paste for 3 (current price) and more than enough for domestic purposes.
The acid test was for it to be used, which I did on my own CPU. It was long overdue as I had to reseat the CPU when I was trouble shooting a fault a few months back. I didn’t have any paste so I just stuck the heatsink back on. Not a great idea as the old staff had dried somewhat, but I had the opportunity to refresh it and make for a more efficient heat transfer.
The paste squeezed out in a nice controlled mini-sausage thread. Smeared across the CPU easily and gave a nice satisfying squishy feeling as I clamped the water-cooled heat sink back in place.
I can’t say I have noticed a massive difference in temperatures of fan speeds, but I am happy that it is doing its job by the fact it hasn’t overheated.
No reason that I can see to give less than 5 stars
Having recently gotten into PC repair, I thought getting some cheap thermal paste that I could use for testing components would be a good idea. This product does the job perfectly. It has a long tip on the syringe for easy application. There’s a good amount of product, and it disperses across the CPU heatspreader without issues. Temperatures are perfectly fine.
I wouldn’t use this for long-term gaming performance, but for office use, or product testing, it’ll work a treat! This tube will be enough to keep most users going for a while. I’d very much recommend this product!
Thermal paste is something I just like to have to hand. In the past, I have found myself called to do a repair and rebuild at short notice because there is a need, and making sure the processor is properly seated and the cooler mounted with an appropriate quantity of thermal grease to ensure things run to temperature is an important part of this.
I liked this thermal grease syringe, as this makes application easier, I think and more controlled.
I also think this product is great value at the time of review, being 2.99 and available via Prime too.
Use this to install a computer chip, was easy to use without hassle. The compound itself went on very easily and worked without any air bubbles. The computer is now been reassembled. And there’s no overheating of the processor.
Please see my photo for the fill level.
I used some to aid cooling of my Intel i7 processor… after applying, my running temperature dropped by 1-4 degrees on average.
To anyone planning to use this, or any other thermal paste… the key is to ensure full coverage of all contact surfaces with the heatsink, with NO gaps! It’s the air gaps where you forgot to apply paste which will create thermal pockets and potentially cause your processor to run hot.
This tube will last for ages, perfect for anyone seriously working with processors and heatsinks.
At 2.99 at the time of writing, in a reusable syringe… it’s good value too.
Recommended.
Scorpeon Heat Sink Thermal Paste
A good amount of thermal paste that will surely last awhile and get alot of project done along the way.
Ive used this on two project which needed thermal paste and i also used this or a laptop which isn’t powerful.
I personally wouldn’t use this if your building a gaming PC this is abit weak for that in my opinion however, for the laptop i used it on is a 6 year old laptop not really high end at all and just needed a good clean and some maintenance.
This paste is easy to smooth out, it comes out the rather thin which is kinda what i was expecting. I wasn’t expecting high quality at this price point.
Overall if your looking for some cheap thermal paste for some project’s or maintenance this may be something your looking for.
While the composition of this thermal compound may not be the market on the market, it doesn’t necessarily need to be.
This thermal paste is ideal for when you need to refurbish a batch of computers, laptops or similar devices, but you don’t necessarily need to use the latest and greatest compound on the market.
It’s affordable and there’s more than enough compound within the syringe to use on a good number of systems.
