Bought this to be used as a trivet when processing mason jars in large pan. Does the job perfectly. Robust and well made. It is slightly domed however. No problem for me, but worth mentioning in a review.
This seemed exactly what I needed, and looks very good quality. I would have given a 5 star review BUT:
Girls, remember when you were little and your mum bought your school uniform “to grow into”? It was only an inch or so too big, so you had to wear a belt to keep the skirt up / turn the trouser hem up. But if you got an outfit for your doll which was the next size up, and “only two inches too big” it was massively oversized and useless for the doll?
So with these grids. The larger sizes have 1/2″ divisions – or even 1/4″, 1/2″ and 3/4″ for the largest ones. Yet there is nothing between the 5 inch and 6 inch sizes, not even 5 and a half inches. I actually needed 5 1/2″ for my tiny air fryer. Obviously 6″ would be no good, so I opted for the 5″ size. Which sadly is too small to be really useful. I’ll use it – but it slides around, and consequently things fall off the edge (more of a problem at such a small size as there is not much “middle” for things to sit on!).
Such a shame! Please would the manufacturer give thought to the necessity for more exact sizes at the tiny 5″ end of the scale: quarter, half, and three-quarter inch increments here are even more necessary for the tiny sizes than for the 11″ / 12″ sizes!
