Even for the price – these work in keeping crows, pigeons and squirrels out. The large volume is also breat as I only need to refill every three says for the greedy critters.
Bird feeder good but our pesky little squirrel soon found a way round clinging to it and avoiding the perches we are going to get a new bird feeding stand with wider hangers which should stop the squirrel getting on to it. Otherwise an excellent feeder the birds flock to it.
This is a great product overall. The smaller birds have taken to it fine with no problems and for this, the product performs more than adequately. However, Squirrels are cunning little blighters! The one in our garden has figured out a slight design flaw in that if it balances on two of the three feeding perches (thus closing their respective ports) it can lean round and eat from the remaining, open, port!
Now, if in future this could be designed so that ALL ports close when one of the perches is depressed then that would solve that one! If there’s a Squirrel or a larger bird on the feeder the smaller birds will stay away anyway so the need to keep the other ports open is moot.
This is a substantial feeder and should really do what it says on the tin. The small birds love it but unfortunately the starlings have found a way in as they always do and the squirrels launch the stoves at it . Most of the seed ends up on the floor.iI am currently not using its generous capacity but putting a small amount so that the birds can just eat from the portholes
