Our Story
At Trespass, we have always been passionate about creating a brand where adventure comes first. We believe no matter where you reside in the world or what age you are, you should always be able to embrace the great outdoors. Established in 1938 under the name Jacobs & Turner Ltd situated in the heart of Glasgow Scotland. In the beginning, we had just 12 machinists working profusely where we provided uniforms and other items of clothing to large organisations including the local police. As our success grew, we started creating anoraks and waterproof jackets that shaped the future of our business.
With in-house designers and product experts, our team are highly talented creative individuals who explore the possibilities and constantly push the boundaries of innovation.
Today, Trespass is one of the UK’s most successful outdoor clothing retailers providing a wide range of products from walking boots to outdoor furniture, selling internationally and exporting to over 60 countries.
I’ve had this coat in yellow for a about 6 years and have never found another that quite adds up. I was finally in a position to purchase a new coat and after trying others, I came back to old faithful, but in the lovely ink colour. This coat is a great fit, true to size (I’ve fluctuated between 10/12/14 over the years and previous coat was a L/14 and fits well over layers). I’ve gone for a smaller size M/12 this time to have it a bit more fitted and can still wear a hoodie underneath comfortably. You can fit a water bottle in the pocket which is so handy for walks and it is completely waterproof with a big enough, adjustable hood, that protects even when walking on windy and wet coasts on this beautiful island. I’m confident this one will last another 6 years or so. I highly recommend!
This coat is really good, I have a Trespass winter Parka and am so pleased with it that I had no qualms about buying this brand again. It is exceptional quality and is guaranteed to be waterproof. I have every faith that it will be though not yet worn it in heavy rain. It is a really good length too, I previously had a waist length waterproof jacket which just soaked my jeans as the rain fell off it onto my rear so I deliberately looked for a longer length. In my experience these come up small so consider buying a larger size than usual.
Lovely coat, but it was definitely worth sizing up.
It’s light and comfy, and perfect for this time of year.
I’ve actually had compliments from others on it too!
Not tested in heavy rain yet though so cannot comment on how waterproof it is.
Love thus coat. So glad I bought it in the UK summer. Its light and kept me dry at all the summer gigs I have been to . I’ll be taking it to night to an out side venue as storms are coming . Yes it is STILL AUGUST.
I very much like this design, it has good shaping and nice lining. I would normally wear a size 8, so ordered that size but found it too small and the depth of the raglans sleeves were very tight. I returned it for a bigger size 10 which fits nicely although would like to have had a longer coat which covered my knees. Like a lot of waterproofs it’s non ironable which is understandable, but a shame because the coat was creased having been packed in bag. I will write to trespass to ask if having it steamed at the dry cleaners would be okay… when I get a reply, I’ll update my comments. But I’ll be keeping the coat regardless.
Fitted style, straight, so order your size or size up if you have larger size on hips. I ordered M, I have narrow hips, size 12 on top, and fits with place for adding a layer. 4 pockets, two with zipper and two with flap. No interior pocket. Blue stripes cotton lining. Hood can be hidden under collar but it is a proper hood, lined. I went for mauve, dark pink, very sweet colour. Lightweight but good rain jacket. I am 5.05ft high and it is an inch above my knees. I used it for walking my dog and it poured rain, it kept me dry, and if you pull up the zipper all the way up it will keep the hood standing.
So, quality is good ,but sizes are not as it should be,I am wearing size S , 10 and my daughter is wearing size smaller clothes,so I ordered it for my daughter to wear it on rainy day on top of school uniform, ordered size M ,but it is small even to me, there’s no room at all, I will give to someone as a present,if you are thinking about this jacket, I recommend to buy 2 sizes bigger,at least 2 sizes to feel comfortable with
I have an old Trespass wind/water resistant light coat and wanted to buy a new one.
I like the look of this and the reduced price, I loved the yellow, as I want to stand out walking my dog on Country Road for safety, not vanity!!!
This has a nice material inside which is soft to touch and might give a little bit of warmth, not much though (black and white stripes).
Lovely soft feel to outside material too. Lovely shape at waist, so accentuates your shape rather than most coats this length which make you look paddier!
Hood folds away neatly, but I like the look of it hanging out.
Thought the zip was awkward to do up as couldnt align both zip pulls, but then realised how to do it and like butter to zip up now. Plastic well made chunky zip which gives me confidence it won’t stick at anytime. You can do up and then undo at bottom so you can sit down in car comfortably or get air in, like most of my ski jackets.
Haven’t tried in rain or wind yet, but my other Trespass excellent so expect same here.
Wonderful quality and heavier than I thought it would be. I am a medium size 12 and it is perfect, I put a fleece ski type thick jacket under it, so thick jumper would be fine as well to ensure I keep warm anytime in it, unless maybe deep winter?
VERY happy with this purchase for 42 instead of 101. I only bought as it was on sale, so honestly would not buy at original price. My mum just received a lilac/plum colour one, but in person colour looks different that picture…the colour is more pastel and muted and I must admit doesn’t look as nice as my bold yellow.
This jacket/raincoat is lovely and would definitely recommend. However, it is too small for me, so I’m very disappointed as I have to return it. I’m a size 18-20 and have even bought a 16 in a jacket so I’m writing this review to help others. I ordered the XXL and it is way too small. There isn’t a larger one so I’m very disappointed. You need to order 1-2 sizes up. Hope this helps
I needed to replace my regatta raincoat which I have had for many years, due to Covid I have been buying online and was pleasantly surprised to find this at under 50, the four front pockets are great, the zip could be a little better quality, it works but occasionally needs a bit of a fiddle at the zipper base to get it undone, a couple of snaps on the flap that covers the zip would have been a bonus but as a everyday summer weight raincoat I’m very happy considering the price.
This is the best raincoat I’ve ever had. The length of it is just perfect, not too long to cycle and not to short, my thighs don’t get wet in the rain. It has 2 pockets, which are really convenient, the ones on the front are really deep, I’m not worried when I put my phone in it. The ones at the sides are really good when I want to put my hands in my pockets, so comfortable. And It’s waterproof. I also love the colour, vibrant red. What’s not to like.
I love the length of this coat, the stripey lining, the depth of the pockets and how waterproof and windproof it is. I feel a bit like a giant daffodil in it – but have decided that is a good thing! It isn’t padded in anyway but if chilly i wear a fleece with it. Its perfect for spring wet days. Thoroughly recommend . Sizing – I’m a 12, 5ft 9 and the medium fitted but not enough to get a fleece and be comfortable. the large is perfect without swamping me.
UPDATE: I recently got caught in torrential rain and it did come through the seams. I still rate it as a waterproof for more standard rain though!
Love this coat! It’s not warm but it doesn’t claim to be. You can add layers underneath if it’s chilly. I usually get hot and sweaty in waterproof coats but this one really is breathable. It’s fantastically waterproof and a great length. I’m 5’8″ and it comes to mid-thigh on me. I have the gold and I would say it’s a more muted colour than it appears in the picture. It’s a lovely colour without being garish. Also means I’ll be easier to see in the dark! Much cheaper here than on the Trespass website 45 compared to 66). Thoroughly recommend.
I’m a 12 on top and 14 on the bottom so i ordered a size L. Its roomy, big enough to wear a chunky jumper. Im 5ft and this coat goes to about an inch above my knees. I feel its quite generous in size. There are 4 big pockets, 2 zipped, 2 flaps with press studs. The sleeve lining is yellow. Hood is nice size which is adjustable. The hood folds away into the collar. Feels good quality, lightweight.
Wore during 2 heavy days of rain. I wore cable knit cardi underneath, coat zipped up, 13 warm & alittle windy outside. Hood stayed up. Dry inside & out. Would prefer a peak on the hood to keep my face dry. Coat isn’t breathable. It was fine on my way to work & dog walking but when carrying heavy shopping its quite sweaty
This is a well-made item, excellently finished. Unfortunately the sizing is not good; I`m an 18 but usually buy 20 for comfort. I would consider 18 – 20 to be Large, implying that XL would be 20 – 22 and XXL 22 – 24, which seems to be the case with most other manufacturers so I bought the XXL, with the intention of being able to wear it over heavy jumpers in the cold weather. However, I can barely do it up over a light-weight top and have to open the bottom half of the zip in order to sit down. What a shame; they have spoilt the ship for want of a ha`porth of tar! I would have returned it but have had to wear it a couple of times in recent bad weather as I had left my original waterproof at my daughter`s.
I love wearing this coat and always feel good in it. Bought size based on the reviews, these seem accurate and fits nice. Been out in the rain including messing with pushchair assembling and it kept me dry.
Down side, although minor, the negatives were that there was some excess Velcro from where the shape had been cut, still attached to the coat. This was easily cut off however. Also there were holes in the pocket lining in both pockets on the right side, again easily fixable but shows floors in quality checks on the product.
Main thing is I love it though and would definately recommend
