This is a good item at a great price and something that will add good security for you as a piece of mind item. Now whilst some will use this on a door or a window, I have a few of these around the house now, purely in case my window latches fail and my cats push the windows a bit to far. For me, these are great as they’re easy to install, stick well and of course are adjustable in case you want to change the length due to the weather. A great duo.
I needed to secure a window from fully opening as it can swing all the way back. The package comes with 2 window mounts, x2 sets of screws.
You should clean the frame first, remove adhesive strips and then place. Be aware that you should check the orientation of the kit before you apply it, so the safety unlock button is accessible, as if you place it to close to the bottom/side wall of the frame, you might not be able to access it from below. The top part has a rotation feature, so can be orientated vertically or horizontally either way.
The chain isnt super thick, it is easy to adjust and it is strong enough to resist a child’s curiosity or even a cats paws. The safety lock prevents accidental removal too. You preselect the chain at the desired length, lock it into place. (a tad fiddly as the lock bar is so small, but its not that difficult). The safety feature prevents accidental removal which I thought was a good idea.
It also comes with two sets of screws, should you wish to mount the kit permanently. Overall a nice set.
The choice of mounting options for the kit makes it a useful addition to any household window that may not secure like a modern one click lock. You can also use these on other things like cupboards, fridges etc too, the choice is ultimately upto you of course.
I have been looking for something like these for a long time to allow me to prevent the cat opening a partially open window! Because it uses a chain, you can pick which link in the chain is used to open it up in increments. The adhesive packing seems strong enough (certainly will be enough for the cat) and states it as being 3M adhesive (no reason to doubt). I will likely buy a few more of these for some other windows in the house.
Needed a solution to restrict the opening of our large bottom opening windows.
I quite like this type of restrictor as it has the flexibility for you to decide on the maximum opening. This is achieved by locking the chain at different points.
Locking and unlocking is straightforward with the unlock needing a push of the button and a slide action at the same time.
The only problem with the chain is that you need to make sure it does not get caught when closing the window.
I could have installed it on the side but the width of our frames are too narrow. If I was able to then this chain problem would not be an issue.
I used the sticky tab option and it seems to had the strength to stop the window from being fully opened. There are screws provided that would additional protection.
Good product that solves a safety issue.
I can’t believe I’d never seen this type of window lock before; having indoor house cats, it would have made life so much easier!
The locks simply stick onto the window frame with adhesive and the chains can be adjusted to be very short or quite long, depending on how far you want your window to be able to open. They also include screws in case you want to secure them more permanently.
The locks are simple to open and adjust for an adult, but a toddler wouldn’t understand how to do it (and neither would a cat).
I’m so glad we’ll now be able to open our windows in hot weather without worrying that the cats (or kids) will push the window open and escape!

Got them to put a bit of security on window to allow our cats in and out. Fitted easy with pads supplied. May actually screw one in place too as both on same window… All good and happier now on!!
Easy to install it stuck well to my PCV door
Brilliant to just keep a small gap open on our patio door to just have that bit of fresh air in…stops my indoor cats getting out also and the wind grabbing the door and it flying open..
I have rated it 4 out of 5 only due to the chain being very thin and i feel this could break easy..and its a little fiddly inserting chain to clasp.. but overall so far its a good product.
Bought to be able to let my cats in and out without the window blowing open in the heavy winds we get here and for a wee bit of security. I used the two latches that came in the pack on the top and bottom of the window and they seem to be stuck on really well. We shall see! Very easy to fit and use. They’re long enough to allow my chunky lad in and out without an issue. Would recommend so far.
