Delivered earlier than expected, which is good. Well packed. My first name and house number were missing off the label so a shout out to the DPD driver who manage to deliver it anyway. This station is actually better quality than it looks in the picture. I built it in about 45 minutes, it is really sturdy when you get the bits the right way round with the pre-drilled holes in the right place! I did have to take it apart and rebuild it but that was ok. Not having a floor is a bonus as the Hogs relieve themselves a lot when they are eating! I placed it over a granite slab which is easily cleaned. No more rotting floors! Cats cannot get in it or open the lid, no matter how hard they try! Hogs have a separate house to live in if they choose to.

Like how easy it was to construct and well fitting too.

Bonus was that hedgehogs were using it within a week. We had had regular visitors to the garden for 2/3 weeks previously under the bird table so not a total surprise to see them about but still surprised they got used to it so quickly.

Looks ok and easy to lift and move if needed.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI priced up making a similar item myself from scratch but it was coming out at around 50% more expensive – and involving a bit of running about and lots of workshop time so settled on this instead. It’s okay, does the job – two hedgehogs visited last night! It comes as a flatpack but the parts aren’t numbered or marked so you need to loosely assemble it before you start screwing. But it is well machined and once you work it out it all screws together very neatly.

Didn’t realise it had to be assembled, but was easy to do
Not the best quality but ok for the price,
Could have done with a complete floor but that was easily remedied.

I chose this because my old home made plastic feeding station kept getting broken into by a determined larger mammal. I also chose this because it has two staggered entrance/exits, hopefully making a hedgehog feel safe and not hemmed in when feeding. The wood is good quality, and smells lovely and woody, easy to work with and assemble, it takes around half an hour with a cross head screwdriver. I have added a couple of things to make it last even longer. I screwed on four plastic feet so that the wood isn’t directly on the ground, (it gets boggy here). These were ferrules, bought for pence from my local hardware shop. I then painted it with a good shed paint. So far, no break ins and the food has gone. Happy also that this is almost half the price others are currently selling this for. All in all a good investment. Highly reccomend. Due to the staggered entrance, I really can’t see how any larger mammal could get in unless they are really tiny, perhaps, and lithe; although I understand this can happen, I do feel this would be the exception rather than the norm.

Love this feeder just what I needed. Going to use it tonight, so will update tomorrow. Hoping the pesky cats don’t get in like they usually do.
