It’s an affordable 2k monitor with stunning visuals and big curved screen. It was easy to set up just needed to connect the monitor to the stand and connect the wires to the power and pc. Just make sure to have quiet some space on your table because it takes up a bi
I am never going back to the normal 16:9! This is absolutely amazing, so much more immersive when playing in games that support ultra wide, even that games that don’t support it if the room is quite dark you really don’t notice the difference. Absolutely love it. I have a ryzen 7 7800x3d, 4070 ti.
Was looking for a monitor for my secondary setup so didn’t want to spend a fortune, came across this monitor that has all the features my main setup monitor has but at half the price! I am honestly very happy with this monitor, can’t fault it.
I wanted a 24″ monitor.
High resolution is an improvement over 1080p , and its nice that its 165hz (personally anything 144hz or more is good to me)
Other details:
Monitor can be rotated easily to be vertical. I’m not going to use this feature, but could see it being kinda cool for a 2 monitor setup e.g. a twitch streamer using it vertical for chat.
I use it mostly for gaming but also office use. Generally a pretty good monitor for the money and a decent stand with height adjustment. I find the G-Menu download handy for setting adjustment rather than the physical buttons which I find fiddly.
Great graphics and arrived a lot earlier than expected but as soon as I begun to play music, I realised that the speakers sound like they’re echoing and not coming from the actual monitor. I’ll have to buy my own speakers but other than that, I’m happy with the price paid.
This monitor purchase is my first and to say the least- I’m impressed. It works exceptionally well with an easy to use OSD menu. It came in superb packaging (which has an easy instructions guide) with a good quality metal stand. One of the downsides of this monitor is the HDR brightness, when in white it is very bright to the point it hurts my eyes, and G-sync does not work that well. Overall it is a great purchase and I would recommend it.
I bought this for productivity, not gaming. I expected a poorly backlit screen with at least one dead pixel at this price! However, I’m blown away by the sharpness, backlight and overall image quality. I use a lot of complex software that generally spans two to three screens. Lots of apps don’t like this. I’ve only used it for an afternoon and I love it. My apps are all docked in a single frame now, I’m not forever shuffling windows between monitors. I’d consider getting a second one if I didn’t use two portrait screens as well 🙂 It also looks nice and feels stable on the desk (it doesn’t wobble). Highly recommended.
Overall this is a pretty good gaming monitor. I bought the 27inch which is perfect for my room.
The display is clear, vibrant colours and offers a number of configuration options to match most needs.
The menu gets some effort and time to master and the accompanied software could had been better.
In my case sometimes the HDMI connection breaks and I have to take the cable out and force it in again in. It seems the ports may be the Achilles heal of this monitor.
Switching between multiple monitors can be achieved via a button and via the software.
I haven’t noticed any lag during gaming and when connected to DP it achieves 155Mh.
The base is OK but it seems too low and I am now looking ways to set it a little higher to avoid turning it into an angle.
I noticed a price increase from the 149 I bought it, so it might be worth to wait until after holidays to buy it.
It has everything you need for a good monitor. Good for gaming, but bear in midn the speakers are terrible quality, so keep this in mind. 2 Watt and they are terrible. So you will want to attack your own speakers, but at least you have em if u need them. It is a highly competitive budget monitor bur delivers reliable performance that competes with higher mid range monitors.
I got this monitor for a mix of gaming and work. I was sceptical as how a curve would feel with work related use, however its really good. 32 inch widescreen with a slight curve works very well. 165Hz makes suck a difference to gaming. I had a 4K 60Hz previously and this in my opinion is a huge upgrade.
It does take a little setting up the right picture brightness etc but once you have it where you like its great.
The main positive is the value for money. Im glad i went with this monitor. There is similar spec’d monitors out there but this one is the best value in my opinio
Bought this as a Black Friday/late birthday present for myself, and to replace an LG 1920×1080 monitor that was showing its age.
While I’m not using the full 165Hz refresh rate, I am keeping it at 144Hz which I’m used to. The picture quality is fantastic, though I do recommend turning on medium overdrive to compensate some of the ghosting/motion blur, as it was a bit jarring the first time.
Sadly, day after I turned it on for the first time I got a single dead pixel but it’s top-left of my screen and not noticeable at all unless I’m on a light background. So, I can live with it. Else, no problems at all with this monitor. Loving it!
Got this to use alongside an LG Ultragear 4k monitor which is fully G-Sync compatible and listed under NVidia control panel, while this monitor is not listed.
The LG automatically switches between non hdr and hdr, vrr, game modes, etc, etc, while this model does not. You can also change the game settings on the LG when in HDR, this device you can’t. You can’t change many settings if you have set the HDR to on, everything has to be set manually using fiddly buttons on the bottom of the unit.
The only decent thing on the monitor is the auto switch input and that it has 2 x hdmi as well as 2 x dp ports (lg only has 1 dp port and it doesn’t auto switch)
with all the limitations it’s not a bad display if purchased during sales, otherwise at full price i would be expecting better and would advise to look elsewhere
I bought this monitor at the Black Friday sale price of ~150 and for that price it is an absolute bargain.
My initial thoughts however were not so positive as the picture set up straight out of the box is nothing short of terrible. There is no contrast. The brightness was way too high and the colours were massively over saturated.
The On Screen Menus for adjusting the image are a little confusing and the process of adjustment is made harder by the ‘hidden’ buttons that select the adjustment functions. To add to this, there is no real documentation included in the box and even the online manual is less than helpful.
I’d almost given up on finding an ideal set up but then I stumbled upon a few settings under the ‘Game Settings’ menu and it made a night and day difference to the image quality.
For anyone who may be struggling, try these settings out :
Game Mode – ‘Gamer 2’
Shadow Control – ‘4.0’
Game Colour – ‘8’
For me, these settings really made the image pop. The blacks are black and the colours and contrast are perfectly matched.
Adjusting ‘Shadow Control’ and ‘Game Colour’ to your tastes are all you really need to do.
(For reference I’ve got mine hooked up to an Xbox Series X)
Never owned an IPS monitor until now, glad I took the chance on trying one after my previous 35″ monitor died just out of warranty,
I was weary due to negative feedback, but went with AOC in the end as it was the best bang for buck, honestly very happy I did as it has all the options I need for gaming and really glad I went with an IPS display, its is honestly night and day compared to VA, now I see what the fanbois were always raving about, it is that good, the colour is popping more than I’m used to, contrast is perfect and blacks look black not grey just to squish that argument ,
I’m sure AOC`s VA monitors are fine as well from this experience, dont listen to naysayer’s this is fab and will be buying a second one.
I’ve been using a pair of 1080p Dell 23″ monitors for about 10 years. The setup has worked really well for my use case of software development. However, experiencing higher resolution panels and higher refresh rate panels made me interested to upgrade.
I got two of these AOC 24″ QHD 165hz panels. Not a common combination for sure. But I’ve been able to set them up nicely with pin sharp text, a comfortable size and higher refresh rate on both Mac and Ubuntu. Obviously for my use case, the 165hz refresh rate isn’t that important. But it certainly feels nice when things scroll or move around.
I was slightly concerned the red strip at the bottom would look too much, but I barely see it, and it’s actually quite nice. I’d never heard of AOC before, but am really placed with the quality.
These were available on a 7-10 day lead time from Amazon when I first checked. But they popped up with 3 in stock available next day.
I’m using a thunderbolt 4 dock and usb-c to displayport 1.4 cables. On Mac I did need to use the BetterDisplay app and had to explicitly enable smooth scaling. On Ubuntu I needed to enable “Large Text” to make things a comfortable size. 165hz on both no problem.
