The lock itself feels fine. It’s brightly coloured to stand out, and the combination wheel (although a little less secure) has the added bonus of not needing a key. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have any particular security rating, so the durability of the lock can’t be guaranteed. This is the kind of lock I’d recommend as a secondary lock, to secure quick-release wheels, or in addition to the main lock to add a deterrent. I don’t think it’ll hold up to an attack for long. Otherwise, it’s a good value lock for the money, and I’d very much recommend it!

This 5 combination bike lock is ideal for my daughter’s bike. As other reviewers have mentioned, other bike locks may be more suitable for a very expensive but this lock is perfect for what we needed and is great value for money. The lock can be kept attached to the bike, it comes with a bracket that is easy to secure to your bike. The combination lock turns well and isn’t stiff. It’s very easy to use. You can change the combination of the lock easily.

Given the price I wasn’t expecting a lot, and it was a little better than expected. It comes with a frame-mounted quick-release holder although the clip doesn’t feel that strong. For a lock that is intended just as a deterrent from quick opportunistic theft it needs to be visible, which this is, given the price though it is not surprising that it’s easy to figure out the combination using a known weakness of this kind of lock. It’s easy to set your own combination and if you do forget it, it would only take about a minute to figure it out.

Basically a cheap deterrent to opportunistic theft, but nothing else. This will be going on my old mountain bike which doesn’t get used much with my better lock moved to the new bike.

    Pros

120cm Long by 12mm Thick , PVC Coated Wire .

At 7 it a OK Lock , but I would only used on Cheaper Bikes ( Less than 150 ).

5 Digits on the Combination , which is a bit better than the 4 Digit Ones.

Good Lock Holder that is fitted to the Bike Frame .

    Cons

All these Cable Locks have a Issue with them, Any Large amount of Twisting Action will snap the
Metal ( Not Steel but Monkey Metal ) .

I would Not use this Lock on a Medium Priced Bike ( 200 to 500 mark ) , for these bikes a “D” Lock with
a “Sold Secure” Rating of Silver or Gold would be a Lot Better .
These Locks are a Bit More Money and start around 25 to around 40 , but will provide a number of Times more Protection than a Cable Lock.

    I Hope this Helps.

    Best Regards B.H.

Nice lock for the money and this one is all about the value. When you are out and about on your bike in a major city these days it’s obvious that you need to lock the bike and I often use more than one lock. If you have an expensive bike, maybe electric or analog carbon frame then you need to protect it. Most or many have quick release wheels for easy repairs. This means that your wheels are easily and quickly stolen so I lock the frame to something very solid and the wheels to the frame. If you then end up with three locks you don’t want additional keys.

This is a five digit combination lock which makes it a little more secure. It feels well made and has a steel cable coated in plastic so it will not mark your frame. It also comes with a stem mount to carry the lock but I can’t use that as the stem on my seat post already has lights and bag attached. However, it is not so heavy so will go in my backpack.

Changing the combination is easy and well described in the instructions which are simple and clear. My bike frame is black and I got the orange lock so it’s clearly visible when in use on the bike. Hopefully it’s enough of a deterrent that anyone thinking of stealing mine will move on to the next!

All this said if someone really wants your bike and has access they could easily take an angle grinder to it, but that is true of most locks, even locks much more expensive than this one.

For this price you can’t expect a lot and you certainly wouldn’t want to secure your top end road bike in a dodgy alley with it. But if you’ve got a basic bike and you’re locking it up on a bike rack in the town centre, this is probably going to deter opportunist bike thiefs.

It is quite lightweight and has a plastic moulding joining the plastic coated steel cable to the lock. The lock itself has a 5 digit combination that is really easy to set to your preferred combination.

It includes a simple bracket to attach the lock to your bike. Seems to be secure and the release mechanism is easier to use than some high end locks I’ve had.

An OK bit of kit for the price. But if you want to secure anything of value, its unlikely to survive long if someone has decided they really want your bike.

The wire is thick and robust.
It will not stop good cutters, but then most wire locks, even some very expensive ones, will not resist that either.
5 figures are quite sufficient, indeed I do not think that many bikes are stolen by trying obvious combinations of dates of birth and similar anyway.
The sides of the lock are plastic, so perhaps not very robust. I had a similar lock and the sides detached after a few years.
The cost is very low, at 7.
On the high street, big names will sell similar ones for 15 or more, and they are no better and sometimes worst.
It comes with an holder which will fit most bike tubes. Not as good as a twist-and-lock solution, this holder has a channel all trhough, a section of the lock slides in that and a plastic button stop it in the middle. It looks secure enough not to fall off when riding though.

I think it is a decent deterrent when leaving the bike unattended briefly, and a good option for double locking (wire and chain) for longer stays. Thieves rarely carry both a grinder, to cut a chain, and cutters, to cut a wire.
The initial lock combination is 00000 and there is a little leaflet explaining how to change it (which is just as any other lock of this type).
