A car radio Bluetooth receiver is a must-have accessory for anyone looking to stay connected while on the road. This Bluetooth receiver allows you to wirelessly connect your smartphone to your car’s audio system, enabling hands-free calling and audio streaming.
With the built-in microphone, you can make and receive calls without the need to hold your phone. This promotes safer driving by keeping your hands on the wheel and your focus on the road. The Bluetooth technology ensures a stable and reliable connection, allowing for clear and uninterrupted calls.
In my personal experience, using a car radio Bluetooth receiver for hands-free calls has been incredibly convenient and safe. I no longer have to fumble with my phone while driving, and the sound quality during calls is excellent.
I use this on the 35mm jack setting which goes direct into my car audio aux channel and this works really well. The bluetooth connects seamlessly every time and the sound quality and output is fantastic.
The only problem is if you dont have a 35mm jack and you want to use the FM transmitter to connect with your radio, I could hear my car engine interfering with it, as I revved higher, the pitch of the interference would go up and vice versa.
I also found that the USB C connector does a super fast charge for my Samsung S23, but the other USB socket only does fast charge. However, if you try and charge 2 phones at the same time, the speed will be reduced on both of them to normal speed charging.
I am keeping it, as its well made. It sticks out of the socket a bit and sometimes I hit my hand on it, but the audio quality is fantastic on Bluetooth and Aux in – Well worth the money if you don’t have bluetooth ini your car audio system.
This is a funky little BT transmitter which will give a high-tech boost to your cars audio functionality. It comes in a very small box, just big enough for the item itself.
It has all the usual features, basically bridging the gap between you BT device (usually your phone) and the retro car audio.
The build quality is surprisingly good considering the low price, and it feels very solid in the hand. BT connection takes a few seconds but then stays solid until you turn it off.
The little LCD display can be a bit hard to see from a distance but up-close it’s bright and clear. Having just the one button to interact with is annoying, at least one other would be welcomed.
Overall this is a simple product that does the job well, and with the current 40% discount voucher it’s an absolute bargain at about 11.
This dual-purpose car adapter offers a range of features to enhance your driving experience. With multiple charging options and a customizable backlight design, it serves as a versatile car accessory. Enjoy hands-free calls with ease and take advantage of the dual-color backlighting for added style. Whether you need to charge your devices, enjoy high-quality audio, or make hands-free calls while driving, this adapter has you covered. It’s a convenient and versatile addition to your car, ensuring a safer and more enjoyable driving experience.
With technology nowadays and owning a n older car with no aux a jack ports this is a godsend.
I can now listen to to Spotify YouTube or any other streaming service without the added expense of having to upgrade my in car entertainment.
This little car adapter is packed full of features!
– The latest Bluetooth 5.3 for enhanced quality and audio to connect to source devices like a phone
– FM transmitter to playback your source device on the built-in radio in your car
– USB-A (QC-3.0) socket capable of delivering 18W
– USB-C (PD) socket capable of delivering 30W
– Rocker switch
– 3.5mm auxillary jack input
For the price, this is an excellent gadget, accommodating all of the above functions into a compact body, that also includes RGB lighting and an LCD display!
Opening the box and removing the transmitter, you instantly realize this is very well made. The body is brushed metal and feels quite heavy. The facia is well finished, and the switches also impress. But what really stood out for me was the Aux out. This is a rare feature which means you don’t have to rely on the radio transmitter. I had big hopes this could be the unit I settle on for my own car.
It takes just seconds to get connected. as soon as you turn on the ignition, a voice greets you (connected by aux cable). Connecting my phone was easy, as was tuning to a clear FM frequency. You can scroll through several ambient colours to match your vehicle or choose colour fade.
I could easily make calls and skip play tracks via Bluetooth on my phone.
Audio quality using the aux cable is excellent. There is the usual drop in quality when switching to FM, but that is to be expected, however the audio quality is still good and better than others I have tried. This is the first unit without a big volume mismatch…I could switch between CD audio, Aux and FM without too much volume change.
The big downside for me is the lack of an MP3 decoder. Neither USB port support UDISK/MP3 and are for charging only. The listing does not advertise it as an MP3 player though so if you are after a Bluetooth/charger that you can conenct via oax or bluetooth, this is a 5 star rating. However I hoped it would also play files from USB but that is no fault of the product so still gets a 5 star review.
Back in the day, I used a 3.5mm audio cable to connect my early Windows Mobile smartphone to a radio transmitter; things have moved on, and now my Smartphone has impressive storage and, of course, Bluetooth.
But an older car, especially a classic with its original radio, remains in the Before Bluetooth past, but there is almost always a cigarette lighter.
What sets the Babacom device apart is its sturdy simplicity. It serves a dual purpose as a ‘cigarette lighter’ socket adaptor, providing rapid charging, and as a Bluetooth 5.3 to FM radio transmitter, all encased in a robust metal body.
There are two USB sockets, a USB-C PD 30W and QC 3.0 18W, and a 3.5mm aux input.
In older vehicles, a complete head unit upgrade might not be justifiable due to cost, installation hassle, or a desire to maintain the car’s originality; this Babacom transmitter is a simple and effective way to enjoy the convenience of Bluetooth connectivity via FM transmission,
And not only streaming audio but also taking hands-free calls, comparable to a headset, given the capability of Bluetooth 5.3.
Then, there is the second arm of the device: the ability to keep my phone charged on the go. It’s an all-in-one solution for an older motor.
One thing to note is that the FM connection does have its limitations. Over FM audio quality is on par with a typical broadcast radio station. However, if you encounter signal issues or interference, it’s usually a matter of finding a less crowded frequency in your area to ensure a smoother experience.
Considering its feature set and convenience, I believe the Babacom Bluetooth 5.3 FM Transmitter offers excellent value for its current price.
My son had one of these and he swore by how good it was.
I was rather sceptical but I ordered one for my older motorhome which is a bit difficult to hear phone calls when driving due to engine noise.
This connects through any spare FM station on the radio and plays through the radio speakers. It’s great and will make travelling a lot easier.
Must say, this product impressed me.
I’ve had a lot of these FM transmitters, and they are very handy if like me, you pick up customers cars etc and you want a bit of music.
This one has an LCD display at the top which obviously lights up when plugged in.
The dual charges are very handy, and the scroll button at the bottom is very impressive. It’s very similar to the scroll wheel on a Mercedes or a BMW. As in you can push it up and down and it clicks. Very nice touch.
The body itself is made of aluminium, and feels very weighty and good quality.
This is much better quality than the normal cheap plastic ones. You get online. Massively impressed. Highly recommended.
Good value for money, and great quality overall.
I gave this a try just as a power adapter since my car already has Bluetooth built in. It works well, with a power draw of around 14W into my phone. It seems quite solidly made and didn’t get hot while charging my phone. The ambient lighting does work, but it’s really quite dim. For the overall functionality, it’s quite useful.
First impression: excellent quality! Made from solid, very shiny metal with a solid, heavy feel to it. It feels like it will last.
Worked straight out of the box, connecting to Bluetooth on my android phone in seconds.
Two charging sockets: Type C and QC 3.0 mean I can use it to power most my devices.
The blue tooth allows hand-free calling and also allows the music on my phone to be played through the car radio. You can select just about any FM frequency to broadcast on so the device can be found on your car radio at any frequency that is not being used.
There is also an aux socket to allow the device to be connected to the aux on my phone or the aux on my car hifi.
There is a handy button the front to scroll through commands and select options, and a clear LED readout on the front to show the options.
Finally there is a choice of about seven different LED lighting colours, or none, on the surround.
Overall – really impressed with this device and will be using it a lot.
A solid pit of kit, easy enough to connect and functions well enough. Feels especially weighty in the hand, well made and feels like it will last the test of time. Both USB ports work, and the choice is nice to have.
Can’t fault it.
We’ve got a 25-year-old car, which, whilst not quite a classic, is getting on quite a bit in terms of years.
It is, however, a lovely old thing that we refuse to part with and is in pretty much original condition from all those years ago.
With that in mind, I have been hesitant to change the old-fashioned radio cassette that the car came with from the factory.
This Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the cigarette lighter solves all of the problems.
The fact that we can now charge mobile phones in the car whilst listening to music from Spotify and being able to receive calls hands-free Whilst also producing a pleasing ambient light around the dashboard area means for me this thing is an absolute bargain
.. and with the current special offer of voucher that you can apply, this works out to be around 12.50.
If you have similar problems to me, this is a fantastic solution, because not only does it look good, its well-made and does the job in terms of modernising your older car . Highly recommended.
We liked this Bluetooth transmitter, found it easy to pair with the phone and the sound quality was really good. We did find it a bit fiddly (it’s quite small) to use with that one button to do everything, that will take some getting used to.
I wasn’t expecting the unit body to be all metal but to my surprise, it was. This helps with grounding and eliminates static interference.
The old plastic one I had, had cheapy coated plastic grounding prongs pushed through a plastic body but this unit has a full metal body, along with what feels like full metal grounding pins.
It was extremely easy to set up. Just tune into the FM station shown. Luckily for me, it was the exact same as the last unit so I didn’t have to change anything. Connected to the Bluetooth with ease and then started my music. The quality of the music was far greater than my previous unit. The volume is greater for a start and the music baseline and quality sounds like it’s coming straight through an aux. I charged my phone using the usb. Will be fast enough for almost all phones at the current rating of the port.
The microphone sounds clear and legible through the onboard unit mic. Would be used as a suitable alternative for other hands free devices where you do not want to sit with an earpiece or with headphones.
It’s a perfect little gadget for a car without Bluetooth! Buy one of these over a cheaper plastic one.
I have an older model car, so with no on-board computer I can’t answer my phone when driving. Initially, I had a few false starts where it paired with my mobile but didn’t connect incoming calls or play music. I thought it would all work via bluetooth, but then I realised that I needed to connect it up via the AUX cable that came with it (from the car radio to the transmitter). And yes, it worked first time. I can pick up, put down and redial using the one button which is clearly marked with a phone icon (and lit up). I also use it to play music directly from my phone, which is another nice feature; as are the coloured lights and the fast-charging ports, which I’ll get a lot of use from. Overall, I think this is an excellent device, and so reasonably priced at under 18 currently. I wish I’d got one sooner.
This is just what my car needed, as my usb ports stopped working in my Range Rover
The usb ports are fast charging (unlike the ones in my 4×4 before they stopped working), and the hands free works like a dream, with no call dropping, no crackling or fade outs during on call conversations.
The 7 colour rgb lights makes a nice thing to have, especially while driving at night.
All in all, very much worth buying, and even if my usb ports in the car was working fine, I woukd honestly still buy this knowing how good and colourful it is.
A 5 out of 5 stars with ease, worth every single penny
I drive an old car, which doesnt have bluetooth capabilities, and I love listening to my music. My car only plays cassette tapes which are simply not practical or convenient, and although it is possible to get a connector to fit into the cassette receptacle, it would result in wires everywhere. This device provides a perfect solution, with the added benefit that it also has two charging points AND allows you to take calls in the car legally and hands free. You simply plug the device into the cigarette lighter, connect your phone to the device’s bluetooth, and then tune the device, and your car radio, to the same FM frequency. Then you can listen to your music through your stereo, and you can also take calls using the built in mic. It is so easy to use, you can pause music with the push of a button, forward to the next track or go back to the previous one, it has some very jazzy coloured lights which you can choose between or switch off, and it has USB and USB C sockets for charging. It really does solve quite a few issues in one, and it is made of solid metal not plastic, so it feels incredibly well made, solid and classy. A fab bit of kit.
This Babacom Bluetooth 5.3 Transmitter for a car is smart little gadget. It is made from all metal (which will dissipate any heat)and looks sleeker and more robust than others I have seen, The charging ports are fast charging and it supports dual charging. It has a C – port, USB port, an AUX and a Jack port. It is full of safety and protection features. It is backlit (7 colours) which makes it easier and safer to use at night time. An indispensable gadget that is good quality. I intend to give this to my nephew as a Christmas gift as he has an older car without bluetooth built in and I am keen that he has a method of using his mobile hands free and this bluetooth transmitter has one-touch hands-free calling and effortlessly answers, rejects, or redial calls so will do the job very well. It also remembers where it was interrupted or stopped (music or other audio) and goes back to the same place. I think he will be really pleased with this item.
