Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI spent ages reading reviews and decided to go with this one, it’s not damaged my paintwork at all – as obviously I’m careful when de-icing. I find even really compacted snow / ice doesn’t stand a chance, and no marks or scratches have been caused to my new car so I’m a very happy customer.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersHaving battled with inadequate ice scrapers that struggled to clear thick frozen build-up on my windshield, I had high hopes for this “Shark Teeth” model. And in many regards, it delivers as a heavy-duty ice removal tool. The extra wide 5.12 inch TPU blade is a game changer, making fast work of even the iciest windshields. I love how it smooths away frost and snow with ease while avoiding any scratches to the glass.
The defining feature – those rugged ABS plastic shark teeth – definitely live up to their promises as well. They chomp through solid sheets of ice, allowing you to break hardened build-up into more manageable chunks. The ergonomic grip gives good control and leverage when hacking away at stubborn icy patches. And the foam cushioning keeps hands protected from numbness despite sub-zero temps.
However, there are a few drawbacks marring the overall experience. I still have to switch to a regular scraper without “bite” to get a fully crystal clear windshield. Also, the teeth are rather sharp – I’ve accidentally scraped my knuckles and the car’s paint a few times while manoeuvring in tight spaces.
The plastic and rubber construction also shows some fragility issues during extreme use. Two of the shark teeth have already snapped off, and cracks formed in the corner edges of the blade after only one winter season. So long-term durability is questionable despite the rugged design.
Overall though, the ice hacking and removal power of this specialty scraper makes winter prep faster and less frustrating. As long as you supplement with a plain scraper for finish work and watch those razor-like teeth around delicate car paint, it’s a valuable addition to any winter driving kit. The ice demolishing abilities outweigh any cons in my experience.

This is a solid scraper, with the blade made from a strong plastic. It looks like acrylic but is apparently a cheaper TPU. The edge itself isn’t sharp, it’s more of a stepped blade, about 4mm at the edge. You have to make sure it’s completely flat to the windscreen to get a good scrape.

I tried it out on some ice this morning, and it initially slid right off the surface, I found I had to dig in at more of an acute angle to cut into it, more of an angle than I’d like. The “shark teeth” help with this as they make lines in the ice to get a bit of purchase on and they do cut into the ice more effectively. On normal light frost it’s fine. The length of the handle is good as it gives you some reach.

The handle is covered in a thin foam so it’s not too cold to the touch, though it seems quite a thin plastic. When I was having to press harder at the acute angle I felt the strain on the handle. Mine also has something rattling away inside.

The only slight negatives are that the edge could be slightly thinner and the handle stronger. Saying that I don’t imagine you’d do too much better for this price, it’s very good for the money and it’s now got a home in my glovebox for the next frost!

Nice long handle giving around 30cm of reach, so easy to tackle snow on the centre of the windscreen. The handle is well padded as well which makes it easier to hold especially while wearing gloves.

The scaping end is a chunky silicon-rubber material (unsure which) that means it can flex a little to remain flush with the car window. The nearly-13cm wide business edge is nicely machine cut in a perfect straight line so it shouldn’t leave streaks on the windscreen (tested by using it to defrost the inside of my chest freezer, as we’re not quite into icy windscreen season here yet).

I will endeavour to update this review (and add or remove a star) if and when we get snow here, should my current positive view above change after more thorough wear-and-tear.

The black parts are very good quality ABS plastic and the handle is wrapped with a dense foam material – very lightweight and designed to prevent the ice cold temperature transferring onto your hands.
Judging by the rivits in the handle, I will guess that its also reinforced with aluminium for added strength.

There are also some ‘shark teeth’ raised above the top side of the orange blade. I think they’re designed to hammer away at iced-up snow, hack away at thicker layers of snow or warding off some roaming yeti from getting too close… Irrespective of how you use them, I would avoid these shark teeth making any contact with your car’s paintwork!

The only negative is unfortunately the orange blade (made from TPU – a kind of rigid silicone/soft plastic material) arrived with an upward curl at one of the corners. I’ve had it for two days, trying various methods to flatten it, but not successful so far.

Shame, because this has the potential to be one of the better ice-scraper’s we’ve had.

4.0 out of 5 stars Shark vs Yeti

Scrapes reasonably well (see video), definitely gets the job done in small frost. Haven’t found any use for the claw side.

The only problem is that it’s way bigger than I expected it to be so I’ve included a picture with my hand. You may struggle to fit this in the door of your car without it falling out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very large scrape

It’s too early for ice but I tried this scraper out on some pretty stubborn bugs which were on my windscreen, and it shifted them with ease. The blade is made of a ‘soft’ but stiff TPU so it isn’t going to damage your screen – the teeth on the back look like they will plough through the thickest ice. The handle is nice and long so you won’t have to lean too far over an icy car to use it, and it’s comfortable to hold. I’m confident that this will work well, if there’s any issues I’ll come back and will amend my review.
