his bulb planter is great if the soil is soft, if your try it in harder soil you have to push hard and wiggly it into the soil making it not as easy to use, so it depends on soil type as to how good you find it.

I was very pleased initially and was able to plant many bulbs easily in pots/troughs, however, when I tried to use it to plant some bulbs in grass, and had to bear down quite hard on the planter, it began to buckle. I have not been able to bend it back into the original shape so the two parts of the handle do not overlap as well as they did, making it harder to use the planter. This may not wholly be a fault of the design, though, as the ground was quite dry and we have a lot of chalk. It was more successful when I gave the area a good soaking and used a chisel to dig out larger bits of chalk/stone when I met resistance. A great gadget if using in wet soil with no bits of chalk/stones.
