First off, this product is very nice. For the Dualsense Edge owners, whether you’re looking to customize your back buttons with different colour options or replace a lost paddle (like me) – these are the real deal.
PROS:
– They come in a carrying case of their own (albeit, a flimsy one)
– Products actually FEEL like they’re made from some kind of real metal/alloy
– Doing “drop test” on a table will make it make a ‘clink’ sound like a metal credit card would
– You’d need a hydraulic press to make this bend; it’s extremely rigid for regular use
– FEELS like they’re about as a good quality as original Dualsense Edge paddles/half-dome caps
– Paddles fit right into the controller and have no fitment issues
CONS:
However, here’s something you need to be aware of. Out of the 3 colours I got (Aqua Green, Rose Gold, and Silver), the Silver was the only one that gave me a “double click” issue. If I press the button with a little bit more pressure, then it would make a second tactile ‘click’ that would sometimes register as a second press, and sometimes would not. It resulted in me making movements/decisions that I was not intending to, and it affected my gameplay. On the other hand, the other 2 colours did NOT bring about that issue, in fact, they gave me 1 solid, satisfying click when pressing the button, and that was it. Upon inspection, the silver one seems to have a hole in the structure that the Rose Gold or Aqua Green one’s did not have, but I cannot say with certainty that that is what was causing the issue. The photo is attached, for your to reference (only silver and rose gold one in picture comparison).
Ultimately, these are still good products that do what they set out to do, and I would recommend them to anyone who has a Dualsense Edge. It would even be a great gift for your friends/family. However, with the “double click” issue I encountered, I am not sure why it’s one specific colour causing the issue, and not the other. Please make sure to test multiple colours so that they are EXACTLY to your liking. YMMV, I suppose. I hope this helps with your purchase decision.
TL;DR – This is a solid product made with what feels like real metal. It’s the real deal, but not all of them are made the same. Silver one gave me “double click” issue so perhaps it’ll be YMMV. Be aware and test different colours to see if they live up to your expectations.
Akzente setzen fr kleines Geld
Meine Empfehlung geht raus
They fit just as snuggly as the OEM ones which I’m deeply impressed by. The only issue was that they arrived with chips missing out of the paint but as they sit on the back of the controller it isn’t the end of the world. The damage might if occurred during transit to be fair, so just be mindful that they might not arrive perfect despite being in a handy case.
I picked up these extremeRate Back Paddles for the PS5 Edge Controller for a friend’s birthday, and she was pleased to get them. The PS5 has the back paddles, much like the PS4 has using the Sony Paddle Accessory. This is built into the PS5 controller.
She removed the stock ones and fitted these in using the instructions and she said that she really liked the touch and feel that these extremeRate paddles had. She likes her birthday present! Yay!
I forgot to get pictures when I was over there; I’ll try and get some of them on the controller when I get a chance.
These back paddle buttons are metal just like the originals that came with the Edge. I’m not sure if they’re painted and someday might begin to chip. But so far they seem to be of great quality. No complaints.
