NO. This battery camera can work independently and does not need to be connected to any base.
Can it do 24/7 constant recording?
Yes, but not recommended. Because this recording mode drains battery quickly. To save battery power, we sugget choose [Record when triggered mode], which means that it will only record when there are people or animals moving in the scene monitored.
Is it possible to connect 2.4G Hz or 5G Hz Wi-Fi?
This CB8 battery camera can only be connected to 2.4G Wi-Fi. So please do not select 5G Hz Wi-Fi during network configuration.

The positive the picture is good and clear, it can move 360 degree, the cons is that the battery is fixed with the camera and you have to remove the entire camera to charge it.
One of the few 360 capable cam available, good for having a warm LED for night visuals, it’s not for someone needing bright coverage like the flood lights do, it’s good enough for us using at the side of the house with just a small walk path.
360 monitoring would sometimes missed although putting at the highest sensitivity, this happens especially at the night time where it’s extremely dark.
Would be better if there is extra “out of view” sensors installed so that the system would react and capture movements in advance before they reach the cam viewing area.
Faster turning speed would be beneficial too.
Clear video and images overall yet higher pixels would be great for viewing details of one’s face etc.
This is a great camera for a battery powered one.
It’s a little slower than the ezviz wired equivalent, could perhaps do with antennas. My only complaint really is that you can’t reboot the ezviz battery powered cameras like you can with the wired versions. It’s quite annoying actually having to go outside, put a ladder up etc etc.
This is a review of the previous identical camera purchased a couple of months ago. The solar panel I bought at the same time only charged the camera intermittently, it needed unplugging and then plugging again to start it charging again, so I wrote to EZVIZ customer services.
Email replies were very slow, sometimes taking two days and after I made further requests to respond, I got used to emails starting with “sorry for the very late reply”. After a couple of weeks of back and forth emails, me trying different things they advised that it was my camera, not the solar panel which had the problem. The camera had a hardware problem. They suggested I return it from where I bought it, if still in warranty.
So, I advised them that they were the supplier through Amazon, and forwarded my order numbers. They replied asking for copies of my invoices, which I sent. I waited for a couple of days, nothing. I did my usual and sent an email asking for a response, nothing. After a week I advised them that if they didn’t reply I was going to open a case with amazon, nothing. I opened a case with Amazon who were brilliant, as I’d done the correct approach to resolve the issue. Although the camera was now 2 months old they sent me return labels and refunded me. I advised EZVIZ that Amazon had sorted me out.
A few days later I got an email from EZVIZ customer services stating that they’d had a technical issue and my messages weren’t getting through, asking me to confirm by email that my issue was now resolved.
I didn’t reply.
I then ordered the identical camera, fitted it and now things are running perfectly.
EZVIZ – could learn a thing or two from Amazon customer services. Well done Amazon.
